Interessante la direzione della K 338, col suo splendido finale reso con nervosa energia. In quegli anni in cui dirigeva ebbi modo di ascoltare nella mia città, a Firenze, una Sinfonia 104 di Haydn davvero rimarchevole.
Many thanks for beautiful concerts you are uploading. However, the exact date of the Boston concert is 1985: Pollini in fact played this program on 14,15,16 March 1985
@@cchris874 Do you by any chance remember Christoph Eschenbach with Gustav Kühn in Boston in the mid 1980's playing the Mozart 23? I know that the BSO has online it's entire history of concert programs apparently. I believe that in the early 1990's Christian Zacharias played that concerto in Boston with Bruno Weil conducting. Stuck in my mind because both Kühn and Weil recorded Spohr's "Die Letzten Dinge", a work I also first heard in my teens in the mid 1980's and which perhaps seems particularly relevant today? Cheers!
I played the first movement of this with my school orchestra when I was 14. A really cherished memory. I believe there's a letter that Wolfgang wrote in which he refers to three concertos (this one and the two surrounding it, maybe) as not too difficult yet still pleasing. Got that right.

The performance is so good that one can easily ignore the lot of background noise in the sound

Thanks for the info!
I remember it well, and for Pollini aficionados the order was K414. K338. intermission, K453.
@@cchris874That would obviously place it at Symphony Hall then, not Tanglewood?
@@ilirllukaci5345
So far as I am aware, Pollini never played at Tanglewood.

So wonderful. Perfect pianism for which Pollini was known.

Thank you ❤❤❤
Does Pollini conduct the Mozart Symphony here? I did not ever hear of him conducting.
Yes he does; he conducted some concertos, symphonies and an opera in the early eighties
@@JohannesB100 My gosh, I learn something new everyday!! Had no clue!!
