I love watching you two and the enthusiasm and dedication of Carlos. He waters by hand every day! Fantastic results. Can you do a video of how he cares for his in ground trees? I am in 7b in New Mexico. All of my trees die back to the ground every year. I haven't perfected my winter protection yet.
So glad to finally listen to and see how this great fig grower is so super successful. Amazing, and so simple. I love seeing all the daily posts that Carlos shares with us about his daily fig harvests. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing this! It's great to see such an experienced grower show his technique. I like how he uses that big tub to fill the water jugs. Probably saves a lot of time.
Love this just started my fig obsession this year and would love to hear more about his process! I'm in NY 7A. When he says he doesn't prune does he not prune during the summer? Or at all I would imagine storing them would be difficult in the winter if he doesn't prune at all?
If you put a saucer under each tree you will recycle all your water and fertilizer. You need a saucer because it will not let the water escape. I've done that many decades. You won't have to waste water every day.
The Turkey Baster is to water the rooted cuttings ,small trees or air layers usually in 1 gallon pots to control the amount of water they get because you can easily kill them if you over water them 😇
this is the most important video for figs in pots
man thank you so much for helping out to produce this video for us
Glad it was helpful!

You are welcome ! Also when you keep the water like that chlorine evaporates and the water is ambient temperature which is better to water your trees!
Wow great way to water I never thought about it that way
That’s great idea my friend!! Thank you for sharing your secret 😎
Excelente video, carlos algunas variedades que me recomiendes para cultivar en un clima humedo y tropical

He doesn't prune at all, sometimes he gets a couple cuttings from some random trees just to propagate them. What part of NY in 7A?
Thanks for the great information
Our pleasure!
Does he do the same thing for in-ground trees?
Do you have a video on the soil mix you use?
What size are these pots? How many gallons?
