An ice cream vendor was shot dead days after he escaped an attempt on his life on Friday 19th July

An ice cream vendor identified as 54-year-old Winston Sammy, of Hill View Avenue, Berridge Trace, South Oropouche was gunned down outside his home on Sunday 21st July, 2024, two days after he narrowly escaped a prior attempt on his life on Friday 19th July, 2024.
It is alleged that prior to the fatal shooting, Sammy was attacked and shot at while driving with his wife along the Berridge Trace Flyover on Friday 19th July, 2024.
