I'm a very proud and patriotic Jamaican and when I saw this documentary on my beautiful Jamaica, my heart swells with pride. We are indeed a great, blessed and beautiful country. If we only could live in love, peace and harmony, this country would be so much prosperous. Thanks to you guys for highlighting my beautiful and blessed country. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
One of the best documentaries I’ve seen of Jamaica 🇯🇲 Love my people 👏🏽 “ out of many we are one” never forget the Jamaican motto no matter where I go in this world 🙏🏽 Sweet Sweet Jamaica 🇯🇲
My first thought....(and I know I'm not alone in this).. Cool Runnings "Feel the rhythm, feel the ride, get on up, it's push cart time...cool runnings!" Classic old film, gotta love Sanka and de man dem!👍🏾🙏🏾. Love from the Caribbean
🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 we need to bring back these type of things that brings the communities together our traditions have gone so far away from the good old days this documentary was so excellent and brought back memories of my childhood 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
I am from Kenya. Jamaicans embody African culture just the way they live. We appreciate how they have always identified with Africa, especially through their music. We are indeed, one people.
Why is it that Africans normally claim Jamaicans so boldly? Despite Jamaica not being completely African in race and culture... Compared to Haiti which is 95% African in race...N other Caribbean countries, I'm just curious, why are those countries always left on the side
As a Jamaican this was a very refreshing video to watch. I appreciate this video because it sheds light on the positive things Jamaicans do and our lifestyle and not focus only on the negative.
I really appreciate this documentary. I’m half Jamaican and I really like history. However, finding good documentaries about Jamaican hasn’t been easy. I’d always love to learn more.
Just keep on youtubing and you'll find something positive on Jamaica. There are many vloggers who do an excellent job. Drama, comedy and history are plenty.
Awesome documentary on Jamaica & the culture of push carts. What is really pleasing to me is to see a documentary that includes my town "May Pen" being shown in a positive light. THANK YOU!!! 100%
However humble or insignificant, broad and sophisticated about Jamaica, I love it. If it's not a crime I will enjoy every second of time soaking in this beautiful island with its happy and proud people. Love Jamaica 🇯🇲.
I'm here in Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪 East Africa and I have always had Jamaica in my heart 💓. And I have been promising myself that one day I'd visit my long time brothers and sisters and have some good times and listen to some good reggae music 🎵.

It’s wonderful to see another aspect of the rich Jamaican culture being showcase. As a Jamaican I appreciate it very much. The pushcart as you say is commonly known as and are widely called handcarts all across Jamaica. Thanks to the creator of this documentary for bringing Jamaica to the rest of the world. One Love.
Really enjoyed this documentary and viewing the passion and vibrancy of the Jamacian culture💛💚❤ I loved how the guy that was interviewed throughout the program talked about how a simpler way of life is the key to happiness and gives less of a headache. That is exactly the sentiment I am attempting to live by although, it is not an easy task here in the UK. I gave up my house in October of last year and have been living in my tiny van home every since. Nothing makes me happier than collecting wood for my woodburner and worrying about the challenges of survival (i.e keeping warm in the winter, having water, eating and finding a place to shower) over the inherent stress and unnatural expectations that modern-day society places on us. Wise words from a very handsome man 🙌!!!
Good to see our handcart men and their craft and transportation being highlighted. Great transportation especially during the rainy season in downtown Kingston.
A top class documentary , showcasing the real and authentic Jamaica and the Jamaican people... just another of the many sides of the island paradise that is my home... "Born jamaican and a son of the soil"
lets be real.. for jamaica being such a small little country they made a huge impact on the whole world with reggae (bob marly) to dance hall... the whole culture...they are just cool as cool can get as a people.. rastafari lead the way
"...a small little country..." 🙄I'll forgive you for saying this because you don't know Caribbean history. We are the largest of all Caribbean islands with a vast expanse of huge mountain ranges and sea scrape.
I enjoyed watching this so much and even though I know of many of the activities of various areas shown, I was still excited to watch. The Rastaman had me thinking of getting on a plane and getting back to the simple life being shown in the presentation. Not to mention the pushcart racing shown and just waiting to see the end, how much pleasure I got from watching. This was a very good documentary. 👍
@benwinkimtai8691 I love my African brothers and sisters. But just remember that Jamaica is a state of Africa also Haiti 🇭🇹 also a state of Africa. Mama Africa can't wait for her children that's was taken away from her to return. The love of a mother Africa been going through. Love from Jamaica.
The positive geople of jamican can not be happy until Africa is happy. Remember they ripped us away from our land and that need to be fix. They were wrong and will always be wrong. We will hold them responsible until because they took me from my mother, father brother, sister and my African family. Now they want us to forget what they did. One love Africa ❤❤❤❤❤❤.
The wonderful thing that is not mentioned here, is that most of these ones this video concentrated on own their own homes, even if it is just one single room.
Thank you so much for this beautiful video of Jamaica 🇯🇲 my country, the land of my birth. It was so freaking awesome and refreshing phee!!! Thanks 🙏🏿 again ❤
The man living on the beach, Roy Collins is such a humble good example for everyone. He is truly rich and at peace living a simple fulfilling life sharing his bounty with others. Beautiful country and people!
well put together well done .. could see you went in the lightest and the darkest places in jam down an still managed to put out the true jamaican spirit man one love everytime
My mom travelled to Jamaica and was walking around the resort, a cool older Jamaican dude told her “irie, slow down, you’re here to relax ❤” and she took the rest of her vacation with that mind set. They are much happier over there. - from a Canadian
The Jamaican markets and stall owners etc aren't as poor as this video suggests though I have to be honest! The majority of the people who work and sell at the markets have their own vans and have had transport sorted out for years. Of course there's poorer people who use the pushcarts but it's not the vast majority of them like this video suggests. I feel like this needed to be said. Old school Jamaicans do like to get through a day without having to buy the things/food they need if possible. If they can live/eat off the land for free, naturally then they prefer to do that (but let's be honest that just makes sense unless you're a materialistic person). I highly recommend a vacation to Jamaica for anyone who's never been there before it's an amazing place that's almost a separate and different world all by itself. Nobody gets looked down on for not being a rastafarian and it's definitely not a racist place at all (I'll be completely honest and admit that I wondered if would be less friendly for some of my white friends but no sir we were smoking weed with dreadlock rastafari within 2 hours of getting off the plane.
Real thing blessings for that comment to let people know that regardless of the problems here is a very friendly place to come and enjoy yourself with the real local down to earth people and you get to go to more unique places yeah man real ting yuh nuh💯💯💯
Trust me, though a good amount might own vehicles a lot of those people come in on trucks from rural areas in the early mornings before day light and a lot are from around the city centers in the ghettos and such who buy and sell. A lot get by day to day and don't own their own vehicles. I'm from a rural area but I also spent time in Kingston and May Pen so I've spent some amount of time on both ends of the spectrum. Most market vendors from the country charter vehicles to take them to the market. You are not necessarily wrong for pointing out that other side though, some market people do own their own vehicles . I know one guy from my area who bought his vehicle after a long time chartering, I used to drive for him and help him sell in Montego Bay market. It was a great experience, we use to charter small trucks and drive around the island and sell sometimes. That was pretty cool and very adventurous. I live in Chicago right now, really love it here - the Midwestern vibe is super cool and a lot of the people are warm and super cool too. I love and miss Jamaica though, this was a little hard for me to watch at the beginning. I almost stopped watching, because the nostalgia and the struggle I see tempered by life's greatest medicine (laughter) had me feeling sad. One love still to all, just wanted to chime in with my perspective and insight on the topic. Blessings fam ❤️
This video really caught my attention I would love to see more video like this about Jamaica and most importantly this video is very much accurate I am a Jamaican
I really enjoyed watching this documentary along with my Jamaican husband. He is a West Kingstonian and made a few points of correction such as: Jamaicans call the carts Handcarts not Pushcarts. Also the National Bird of Jamaica is the Hummingbird not the Dr Bird. Overall the video showed so many other things about Jamaica such as the way of life, the beautiful landscape, the history. Good video.
It also call push cart in the country areas that have alot of hills when it go down the hill you have to push it back up the hill that's why it call push cart because you have to push it
So disappointed when this documentary came to a close, thank you for this amazing production I thoroughly enjoyed it 🙏 my beautiful island of Jamaica 🏝 💙

This documentary is the most accurate narration of Jamaica & its people in their natural and purest form. This is obviously a well researched and accurate depiction of the "hand-cart" mode of operation culture of the Jamaican society without the exaggeration or the colourful enhancement of the journalist. Congratulations on an excellent project Sir. Born and raided on the island and now living in the USA for over 22yr, I can say without a doubt that your team did a magnificent job with this project! Well done. 👍
Thank you for this video Jamaica is one of the nicest places in the world why can't the Jamaican living there see and know that they should check them self and stop the bad vibes with another god look over them one love to all the Jamaican

Well done. 👍
