@zaiz6018 unsure. various other content creators that covered 764 have gotten unfairly punished due to our videos regarding them(tethys, deadtube, me, etc.) some more than others. the closest thing to an answer we have gotten is somebody in com(community, something individuals in 764 and other groups refer to them as) saying that youtube, and other social media platforms were cracking down on content regarding 764, leading to 764 members' accounts being deleted, but also our own videos being deleted.

We were all fans of artists like gg allin, other shock rock musicians (hence how we met online, due to mutual friends , was in a small community of shock rock/edgy folks) who said crazy outrageous things for reactions, unfortunately i was young and dumb and thought thats what angel was doing, somebody who was public about these things HAD to have been joking, right? nobody would be THAT open about their shameful desires, nobody would incriminate themselves. I was wrong. I was a vulnerable teen, met plenty of terrible people in that community, aswell as some really amazing folks, but to this day i still sit and wonder if he had those intentions with me, i sit and wonder if i wouldve fallen for his potential attempt at extortion. Ive known girls who were effected by 764 personally, ive been aware of it for a while now, im glad to see somebody with a following covering it, as these predators have gotten away with so much for so long, last thing they deserve is anonymity. I made a 2 hour documentary on 764 and many other online extortion communities like Kaskar, Harm Nation, H3ll, etc. I put months and months of effort into it working with 10+ other content creators, two of which being Deadtube and Kayati Chop. They both (previous to my video) made their own videos on 764, which ended up (probably) being the reason they got banned from UA-cam. UA-cam out of nowhere decided to crack down on all content pertaining to the topic of extortion communities or from members of those groups. Due to that, my video was only up for 1 day before I took it down in fear I would get banned. I'm glad to see it's now getting attention, but I am still disappointed I can't upload my video.......

Fun fact: Aum Shinrikyou actually made an anime mostly to gain recognition while recruiting new members to the cult. The anime is called: *Choutetsu Sekai* and according to MyAnimeList atleast 200+ people signed up for the cult.

Mahikari is actually insane. While I was living in Japan, I had some friends get contacted by them and then locked in a room and threatened to be beat up. I also watched a woman try to use her "light" powers to heal someone.
Sometimes I like to think of how terrifying the sheer quantities of people these cults manage to convince, alongside how many there are, it really frightens me and leads me to the question: are most followers vulnerable people who were manipulated, or there truly that many insane people in this world?
people often can be misguided and become like that but have hope for the people who dont :).

often cults seek lonely hopeless traumatized people and give them a community that cares about them and gives them a cause/hope, at first at least. but then with time they transition to more extreme stuff, and the people dont notice it happening little by little, until something really horrible happens (kinda like in abusive relationships, first its fantastic, then small bad things happen but you just shrug them off, and finally when something really bad happens you realise how bad it really is and has been heading there a long time but you just ignored it before) , but by then they often have given up their posessions and/or cut contact with all other people, so they have nothing else but the cult and sometimes even physically cant escape.
ive never been in a cult, but some time ago when i was all alone and had no hope in life, if someone really nice came up to me started being my friend and then offered some fun community that cared about each other and had a good cause, i think with some time i would have been on board, and then i wouldve been the same, good thing theres pretty much no cults in my country, maybe one hippie commune in a big city but thats it lol
I'm not entirely sure sanity isn't a myth but one doesn't have to be batshit to be pulled into cult influence.
I wrote about it in another comment, but I'll condense it here:
With the amount of traumatized, cult-prone family members I have (as well as my own trauma), it truly is as jm-wc9ou said. These unfortunate people often come from horrific pasts of their own, and are looking for safety, let alone whatever semblance of control they can feel they have. In my case, a majority of my still-living family members survived genocide after genocide, which caused them to lean hard into cults that not only validated and helped them in their struggles, but made their fears of the outside world worse.
These people aren't insane, like the majority of humanity. We just happen to be social animals that are prone to latching onto social connections for the sake of pure survival. In times of extreme, even life-threatening duress, anybody can fall prey to those who seek new victims. I've been there, even though I always thought it'd never happen to me because I thought "intelligence is stronger than instinct."
Turns out I was wrong. Tragically wrong. When you're struggling to survive the day to day, your desperation *reeks* enough for predators to smell it.
This is why social isolation, fear of social ostracization, even immigration status and financial hardship are huge indicators of cult-adopting behaviour.
THIS is why it's imperative that we have a strong and stable social safety net, where the vulnerable don't have to resort to the cruelty of power-tripping strangers to survive.
It can happen to anyone. It happened to me, and my entire family dating back 5+ generations. I'll do everything in my power to ensure it never happens for our future kin.

This girl my mom worked with at one point (her and my mom were kinda close she was one of the few my mom likes😂)said that her mom joined this cult and is making the girl quit her job, doesn’t let her go outside for anything or go see people, not even band for school. Cant go to homecoming or any school events etc. i went to school with her before i graduated and she genuinely is the sweetest kindest person ive ever met, let alone the biggest saint ever. Just heartbreaking to know she’s getting all of those things ripped away from her because of a delusional parent, i regret not doing so many things in high school, cant imagine how it feels literally having no choice like that.

When I lived in NYC, my GF and I got roped into going to a Happy Science meeting. It was EXTREMELY cultish, and we couldn't wait to get out of there. They DEFINITELY were trying to push the books. There was a whole room full of them.

I am a victim of the 764 groups. I was only 13 when it started. I was in three discord servers and it lasted for almost three years. The tings there are horrible, the things I witnessed and experienced were BAD bad, I remember I was in Cultist, bsmnt and Cicada. I knew the owners of each group and the owner of bsmnt was my abuser. It started off very nicely, we played Roblox together and just had fun until something clicked in him and he became aggressive.

Im glad you brought up Happy Science. I grew up being somewhat part of the Happy Science cult, from family members that were heavily in it. I remember going to large gatherings for it and even going to the theatres to watch an animated movie they had produced. I never really believed any of it, but currently one of my family member is still heavily part of the community, with libraries FULL of Okawa’s books, and I mean FILLED TO THE BRIM. So you’re not wrong when you say that they collect those books religiously. Edit: forgot to mention something odd said family member mentioned to me last year, but they take “exams” based off of the Okawa’s books. Exam papers are sent out to participants all over the world to test them on their knowledge of the books. I have no clue why, only that everytime I go visit this family member, they’re always studying from Okawa’s books very thoroughly. Other than that, my interaction throughout my life with Happy Science members has been harmless.
The good & kinda unusual thing (for a cult) is that it sounds like there is no issue ex or non members having contact with members as obviously that is often a problem.
I wonder if the founder passing has anything to do with the cult not taking things further. Sometimes a leader is genuinely just unstable instead of power hungry and often those don't go as far. My dad essentially led a cult for several years and still has no idea. He was unstable and manipulated by a less charismatic and very power hungry woman and sort of just wound up in the position. I love him and don't hold it against him despite my very strange and often traumatic childhood. He's grown a lot but he himself never did anything awful or encouraged anyone else to. If anything he tried to help the wrong people and brought them around his kids too often.

My family member isn’t aware that Happy Science is considered a cult (i mean, as any cult member would be inclined to believe), but I do know that they were able to overcome difficult life events thanks to this cult, and so my family and I had decided to not let them know about the shadier side of it unless it becomes an issue.
@@alyasfukename3355I’m sorry to hear about your father and your experiences with the cult revolving around him… And yeah, it could be the case with Happy Science’s leader, although I really can’t say for sure. I did hear that his children are very opposed to his beliefs but I might be misremembering that.
Also, you mentioned his passing and that reminded me of how I had heard the news. It was the day after, and I happened to be at the family member’s house. Her friend, who happened to be a Happy Science missionary, were there to mourn his passing. But as they were mourning, they both told me (and with firm belief) that Okawa promised them all that he would come back to life in 2 weeks and tell them all about his journey to Heaven. I’m an agnostic and so I just nodded along and decided to just wait those 2 weeks and see if by some miracle it would happen. Of course, he did not come back to life. After that, I was wondering how the cult was doing, but the only thing I know is that my family member is still studying for Happy Science exams, so I’m assuming it’s still relatively active and keeping up with the studies of Okawa’s books. Who knows how it’s gonna pan out for the next few years…

Also, just a slight correction here, the cult led by Shoko Asahara, オウム真理教, is an oh sound, not an uh or ah sound. オウム are the katakana characters for o, u, and mu which, when put together sound like ohm. The u character is telling you to make the o sound a little longer. Just a small thing, no huge deal. Always love your videos, tuv, keep up the awesome work!
