I GOT MY MORPHOUS HOME JIM! WHOOO HOOO! Installed a battery, put in fresh gas! Fired it up and drove 200 miles home! It was great to ride again! This bike has 30,000 miles on it and a tall windshield. Kept it to about 60 mph the whole way.. wife likes it too.

My daughter garage 200 miles away..i have missed it... thanks for the parts source! And you are very right..i think this may be the best motorcycle i have ever owned. And i have had a bunch. My next project..tags in Illinois! Then the rear tire.. it was replaced dec 2016. It still has read, but probably needs a tire soon. Thanks.. the ride was pleasant. But an hour in the saddle is enough.. that was 4! They are really a smooth running scoot!
I own a 2014 Yamaha Stryker 1300, and just got a 2006 Yamaha Vino 125 and I forgot just how much fun scooters are to ride. In the 1980's I had a Honda 49cc scooter that was the best thing a teen could own, and now I feel like a 55 year old teen again on my Yamaha scooter. The Morphous is a bucket list item now. EDIT : It's like a mini bagger.
The next Honda I get in a maxi Scooter is a Morpheous, They really are a unique sight in person. I have a Honda Silverwing Maxi 600cc and a Piaggio BV 250. I love the difference in power displacement as each one has its own dynamic to offer. Love the Helix too. Thanks for putting this together Jim.
People who think its ugly ??? We have a saying in New Zealand. It takes one, ...to know one ! I think they are an amazing looking scoot and if you've ever checked out the Morphus chops in Japan , you would be amazed ! That is unless you know one !!!

Rare? I have one I got in 2008 and my bro-in-law got one shortly after. Right now (July 2021) I'm looking at 2 on FB marketplace, 1 on ebay, and 3 on OfferUp just in my area. Also these are still being made in Japan under the name Maxam (or Maguzamu). I read that the Majesty 400 motor and ECU is a direct bolt on swap, although I can't confirm that. I've owned sport bikes in the past and presently ride v-twin. My morphous gets the most use. At 17k miles, other than a fuel pump and regular fluid changes (and tires due to dry rot), it's been rock solid. Don't forget these are liquid cooled. Got to change that coolant every so many years.
Respectfully disagree sir. They absolutely are Rare. And Yes In Japan where these are known as the Maxam they've got a HUUUGE Cult following....but thats not unusual for Asian culture. Overall....the big picture I too have found Over the course of last 10 years that the Availability of the Morphous....FB, Ebay etc etc Ebb & flowed .....with perhaps 1 or 2 mint with low mileage and others beat up or with 15-20k mileage so Compared to other Scooters they are Rare because not many were imported over the 2 year short run.
Hey Mike....I heard in Japan these are offered with 250, 400 & 600 Engines....but Yamaha only exported the 250 here. Maybe that's how that 400 Majesty was fitted?? Also thanks for the reminder...I definitely need to change my Coolant . Also Mine was in storage for 10 years....it was like new....2,000 mi but I swapped out dry rot tires with new tires , All filters and plugs. OIL etc. I have about 6k mi on her now.....She purrrrrs!!! What's your thought on the V-Belt?? I was told they're near indestructible....that I can wait until 10k. She shifts like new....So just need to change & replace with The Yamaha Blue Coolant.
When come to liking of a woman, motorcycle, maxi scooter etc etc it all narrowed down to individual preference. But I really loved it. In fact, the outlook is better than the Honda Helix. This is my five cents opinion. Individual's liking.

I wonder if 184cm height person can easily put foots on this bike and feels no uncomfortness on legs. I have yamaha cygnus x 2008 but I do want to have this too! Your videos help me a lot for searching info :)
I have had 3 scooters. An 87 helix, an 06 majesty and an 07 morphous. I still have the morphous. Of the 3, EACH has good and "not so good" the helix and morphous are low and comfortable. Both are limited in speed. The majesty is way taller! But "better" for highway. I think the morphous is marginally the best of the three. For reasons you said. Literally anyone would be comfortable on it unless you are really tall. And then you might need to modify the seat slightlyfor more cockpit space. But no more so than literally any motorcycle. I know that you said that you don't do highway on it.. i have done multiple 400 to 2000 mile rides.. it is perfectly capable of long distance trips. I drove semi trucks for many years so i prefer to stay away from super slab.. but long rides of any distance are literally not a problem. My longest day was a hair over 800 miles. So...65-70 mph is fine. (Im 235lbs.. so..)

The Perfect Question!!! I have since sold my Morphous...had a Special order Indian Bobber built!! Great V twins!! To answer your question....Both the Helix & Morphous have great bulletproof 250 engines....the Morphous has a much more responsive EFI rather than carburetor. Top speeds are the same.... The Helix has better storage. The Morphous is much sleeker in design...although back in the 80's when Chicago QB Jim mahon did the commercials it looked futuristic...but I think it's design is now dated.... But the Helix are GREAT SCOOTERS!! Hold their value. The Morphous has better Suspension, dual disc brakes and larger tires. If you do get a Morphous you won't be disappointed.

I had ordered an Indian Scout Bobber to be built last December and took delivery of it in May 22. It's actually on Instagram as #darkvaderbobber I will be doing a UA-cam review on it soon as well. If your looking to get a Morphous and found a good clean one go for it. It is a Bulletproof machine...well made and a total blast to ride!!! Keep me informed if you buy one...I have parts & maintenance suppliers if you need.

Kicking myself for getting rid of mine. They actually go up to 79mph. I drove mine from Woodstock GA to Destine, Fl. And also to North Carolina. They handle great at 60-65mph. Over that speed the wind has to be calm, or no crosswind. This scooter saved my life. I avoided and accident because this think handled so well. Also abused mine: offroad, put odometer reader in wrong when changing tire. Clanking sound for 100miles. Bike never failed on me or broke down. Also beat a Harley on backroads and one in braking test on a race to light. After this I'll trust Yamaha with my life. And I did
Its a pretty hefty performing engine..and the fuel injection is AWESOME!! I haven't had mine over 65 yet...but I only use it to putt around to beach & Boardwalk. I'm getting myself a small Enduro as well to lessen the mileage on this because I think it will be a collectors item because so few are around. Sorry you had to sell yours.

Yes....The rear one was pretty accurate but the front was off.....but I knew how much so it was just peace of mind....at a glance especially if I hadn't ridden it In a while due to weather. I have since sold her in March 22 to a decent new owner who followed me here and I know will continue to care for her! I custom ordered a 22 Indian Scout Bobber ABS which is a cool bike. It's on Instagram #darkvaderbobber
Yes it is fully fuel Injected. Thats a pretty good price for 7k mi. Make sure you check ,clean & change the Air filter yearly. And of course Oil changes are important. Otherwise it's pretty maintenance free!! Congrats
Although I have since sold Her...I have found no problem locating Oil, Air Filters etc. There are also an abundance of body panel parts available on Ebay and thru Yamaha. It was an Excellent bike. I had an Indian Bobber built so I let her go this past March.
I have found that they dry up in the market...then reappear...Both Good mint ones and higher mileage ones. But they're out there...how many? I'm not certain how many were actually built and sold here in the US
@@Yipcanjo funny.. i have ridden motorcycles since 1968.. it's a motorcycle. It is a "scooter style". Just like "sport bike" "cruiser " or "dirt bike". Just a different style and design for different purposes. I wouldn't take this off road. But I don't ride off road. Big bikes don't do it for me. Sport bikes suck (in my opinion) and i basically only like "standards" and scooters. I have put more miles on a Morphous than any other motorcycle in 53 years of riding.

I dont know if it is true but i have heard there were only around 1500 sold in the US.

I'm 6ft or 184cm and I'm very comfortable. It depends on how long your legs are as well....but overall there's alot of leg room!! Thanks for watching!
The seat is the lowest of any production motorcycle. Im 5'11" its great!

Yes it is fully fuel Injected. Thats a pretty good price for 7k mi. Make sure you check ,clean & change the Air filter yearly. And of course Oil changes are important. Otherwise it's pretty maintenance free!! Congrats
Btw...I did sell mine for $2500. It has new Tires, Extra windscreen, Synthetic oil. New airfilter, Cover. Plus its been garage kept...mint condition.

How fast with your weight
Top speed with this Scooter even at my weight 280lbs is 70 mph. But she effortlessly Cruises at 60 mph.

Where's the fuse box
..it is under the Front Cowling right on top of the Battery. If you search online you can actually download a Free Owners Repair manual.

@@Yipcanjo funny.. i have ridden motorcycles since 1968.. it's a motorcycle. It is a "scooter style". Just like "sport bike" "cruiser " or "dirt bike". Just a different style and design for different purposes. I wouldn't take this off road. But I don't ride off road. Big bikes don't do it for me. Sport bikes suck (in my opinion) and i basically only like "standards" and scooters. I have put more miles on a Morphous than any other motorcycle in 53 years of riding.

Installed a battery, put in fresh gas! Fired it up and drove 200 miles home! It was great to ride again!
This bike has 30,000 miles on it and a tall windshield. Kept it to about 60 mph the whole way.. wife likes it too.
