This is played on way too small a field and does not do the sport of hurling any favors. Looks like lacrosse with all of the very short range passing. This slows down the pace of the game. Some good lift and soloing skill here but the field size is a travesty. I have played a 7's tournament on a full sized soccer pitch and the game was much, much faster.

+Aaron Joley A soccer field is about the same size as this lacrosse field. There should be points though, but 11 aside is good idea since most pitches internationaly are soccer size pitches even rugby pitches. If they were promoting hurling in australia they wouldn't need super 11s because of cricket and afl pitches are actually bigger than hurling pitches.Cricket does not exist as a major sport in america and even baseball parks are small.Hurling is going to be played in fenway park boston and there is only space for an american football lenght pitch just about.A full game would not be possible there.

Stoney...I play here in Nashville and believe me, soccer pitches are all we have down here. Tough to find anything larger unless it's a huge field in a park that has no goals or posts. It's a struggle. Up the Nashville Gaelic Athletic Club!

Aaron Joley Thats what i was saying.Clubs in american have had to make do with small pitches and they should have been consulted not this rubbish.Hurling is a totally different game with goals only.Goals are great, but its the points that generate the energy of the game.In the bigger stadiums which this form of hurling is designed in america they are either baseball american football soccer which are are about a third shorter and narrower.
Do you count points in your club in nashville.

+Aaron Joley These players are top intercounty players so its a given that they can lift and solo.It is however an exhibition match therefore there is little intensity in the game so the pace is slow and of course they don't want to get injured with county club championship coming up

+stoney71 yes, we play sevens in our city league and count goals and points. When we travel to other cities for tournaments we play 13's generally.
