im 13 and have lived in ellsworth all my life and my dad has lived here since he was three... we will never be able to get him out of this town... and till a month ago i always wanted to move to a bigger town but i figured out that this is my home and it always will... i cant ever picture living anywhere else... ellsworth takes alot of pride in this song this is all that really plays at cowtown days. My dad could almost name everyone.. but alot of people have moved to ellsworth
I've loved this song from the moment I heard it. It reminds me of my parents who met in married in 1949, after my father came back from serving overseas. His middle name was Ellsworth.
I grew up in Ellsworth KS...This song fits my grandma to the letter...she passed away about 10 years ago and she was born and raised there..Love and miss ya grandma!!!
I love this song. In 2007, I drove my girlfriend of almost 2 years to Ellsworth, KS and proposed to her underneath the Ellsworth, KS welcome sign. We have been happily married ever since. Country music changes lives, and has made a huge impact on mine.
I guess I'm lucky that I can still enjoy the company from not only my grandma but my great-grandma as well. A great-grandma who turned 107 yesterday and is always happy. Could be raining fire that she always says it's a beautiful day. I aspire to be the kind of person she is... always happy. I love you both granny and great-grandma!!!
Such a beautiful video! The 1st time I heard this song I could not stop crying. This song describes my grandparents perfectly. My grandpa Brad was in World War II & he drove a DeSoto. My grandparents were married after my grandpa came home from the war. When I was in 3rd grade, my grandpa was diagnosed with Alzheimers. My grandpa couldnt take care of her so he moved in with us & she went into a nursing home. He died a few years later & when i would go to see my grandma she would call me Brad.
I lost my grandma a few months ago. She had alzheimer's disease and near the end she didn't remember anyone or anything but miraculously she remembered my grandpa. In the morning when they woke up and found that she'd passed away in her sleep, her hand was on his photo that she kept on her bedside table. Miss her so much :'(
We started losing her when she lost him but to hear her carry on you’d swear she’s 17 again! Gets me every time! Tears! My grandmother passed 9 weeks and two days after my grandfather! The change in her flipped like a switch!
Thanks for this video song. I am from Ellsworth, Ks left in 1973 and returned for my parents, and both grandpa Milner who I miss terribly and grandma who lived to be 105 at her death but the song is so right on about her and I miss hearing her voice or going on trips through CA, theNortwest and Mexico. She at 95 danced all night at a bar with great salsa band, danced everybody under the table till she finally wore out the staff she thought time to go to bed it ,was 3 am in the morning.. A very wonderful memory.
my grandma just died yesterday. she really couldn't remember anything near the end. but she did remember the old days. my grandparents got married in dc in 1948.
This song is so touching. It makes me cry every time I listen to it. " It's like her mind just quit, but bring up grandpa it's like someone flipped a switch" wow . :( it reminds me of my grandparents all the time.
I wish I could rate this 100 stars instead of just five. I absolutely love the way you made this & put it all together. I bawled, I won't lie. lovelovelove it!!
I love this ...My grandpa was in the army and this song is just like their life. Wow.. He has been gone for 3 years now, and my grandma is not doing well... Makes me cry...
This was an amazing video.... Brought tears to my eyes !!! I love my wife so much, that my biggest fear is losing her memory.. this is hard to think about... thank you for this !!
my grandma has been battling Alzheimer's for the past two years, and it's been very hard on my family and I. However, whenever I play this song, it makes me think of all the great things she has experienced in her life, and what she has done in mine. No matter what kind of day I'm having, this song always cheers me up. Thank you for making this into a video :')
and jesus said i go to prepare a place for you, your grandmother is happier than she's ever been and someday when the lord calls us home, you will happily spend eternity with her, may god be with you.
this just takes me back to when i could walk in my granddads house, and talk with my grandma like an old friend. Now i cant walk in and do that. when i lived with him till i got on my feet, it was hard on me. just wish i had one chance to talk to her again.
Beautiful song and I am sure made in Ellsworth Kansas, it looks so much like Ellsworth, I have worked there this song reminds me of my grandma, who died in 2003 at the age of 98 and she could sure remember the old days, told me "me and your grandpa went to Barn Dances, you know he was a dancing fool." this could be about St. Joe Kansas..
what a great version that's perfect thank you so much for the effort that went in to this video ..... great detail right down to grandmas Buick .... its sure is a tearjerker and BTW grandma sure was beautiful when she was young
this song makes me really sad, I got goosebumps. My grandma has Alzheimer's and she's had it for 17 years now. It remindes me of situations I went through with her. My grandma was my best friend. She doesn't remember my grandpa now or anything but like burning the biscuts and parking on the shoulder crying not knowing where she is/was. The world fading all around her. My grandma is just existing and that's it. I miss her so much :(
I've lived in Ellsworth Kansas my whole life and I think it's hilarious that this isn't even filmed in Ellsworth. Trust me it's a small town I would know.
This video isn't about you living in Elsworth or you by any stretch of comprehension. You are at the other end of the spectrum oblivious to the meaning obviously. You're a Narcissist.
Wonderful video to a great song! We have just opened a non-profit in San Antonio to serve churches and their aging population. If someone ever asks why, I'll just point them to your video.
today is 6 years my grandpa died and my grandma changed she was always depressed but she woke up 1 day she talked to my grandpa in her dream and said for her to be happy
These lyrics describe the situation that my family is in now with my maternal grandmother whose memory comes and goes due to her having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. What sucks is that it is a genetic thing on my mother's side of the family and I know that eventually she might get it and my siblings and I will have to be prepared for when the time comes. My mother and uncle have decided for the time being not to put my grandmother in assisted living because she was able to do a lot of things for herself still but the problem remains her memory. The thing is that sometimes she forgets that my grandfather whose name was Troy died 24 years ago in 1996 and she'll think that he's still alive and my mother will have to remind her that he died all those years ago. Not only that, there are times where she'll ask me the same questions over and over again and I answer them again and again. Since I first wrote that, her situation hasn't progressed at all.
I think I have some sort of short-term memory loss.. I don't remember what I did yesterday.. I remember talking to someone on the phone late at night. that's it. I don't remember anything else. It might be because I have a depressive disorder. what do you think?

I've loved this song from the moment I heard it. It reminds me of my parents who met in married in 1949, after my father came back from serving overseas. His middle name was Ellsworth.
