I played this song at my husbands funeral. This was the perfect song for I how I felt. We were together for 26 years. And the last 10 he was in kidney failure. His last days were emotional and very hard. He spent them in ICU his body so swollen he was almost unrecognizable. I never left him. In the last hours the doctor came in and told me he was brain dead. It was hard to hear, but at the same time a relief. Just two weeks before he had a serious talk with me. He knew his time was very limited and I knew his request and what he had told me he wanted and didn’t want. The one big thing was he did not want to be kept alive ( if you could have called it that ) on a machine. So I had to honor his request and let him go. That has been 8 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. Thank you so much for the words to this song and for it being sung with such emotion and feeling. It remains to mean the world to me.

I often wonder why God makes us wait so long to answer our prayers but He ALWAYS has a reason. It could be He is protecting us from something bad that only He knows is going to happen. I'm so thankful that He is still using me... in this way because if I said one thing to you that helped you or made you feel better I know then that I helped a stranger along my journey called life. I have finally learned to listen and obey what God asks me to do and that didn't happen until I was 53 years old. After 11 years I can honestly tell you that I knew God all of my life but having a personal relationship with Him is TOTALLY different. Don't think crying is bad because God counts and saves every one of them and uses them to help us understand what each tear is for. Our God is an awesome God. God bless you and when you know God answered a prayer for you just look up and say ""I KNOW THAT WAS YOU GOD"". He never makes a mistake and forgives us for every one of ours. God bless you. My daughter died from cancer in 2011 from cancer. She was 32 with a 5 year old son. She died in my arms in my home. I sang this song to her for months before she passed but most certainly in the last 2 weeks she was in a coma and I lay in the bed with her. I'm sorry for your loss I know how that feels I've been fighting a brain tumor since I was seven and I went to st. Jude's children's research hospital and saw so many kids with so many sicknesses and then some kids didn't even make it I saw some family's cry cause their kid passed away but the good thing about that hospital is they try to find a cure for everything pretty much I was seven when I started going and now I'm twenty eight but I had to stop going there a couple of years ago because it's a children's hospital and I'm not considered a child anymore

I love this song so much. When it first came out, 10 years ago, I was going through breast cancer treatment. I cried every time I heard it. Thankfully I’m still cancer free now. I haven’t heard it in a while. I listened to it tonight & sobbed again. I lost my husband, of 63 years, to Alzheimer’s last week. I was his caretaker for the last several years. When I was 12 my mother was diagnosed with cancer. She fought it off for almost 3 years. She was tired, she needed a rest. I remember in the last few weeks of her life me and little brother started learning how to sing and play this song on guitar. When we played it for her she did not make a sound. At that point she was mostly gone, but I know she heard it. Through the song she had a slight smile on her face. She died a few days later. This song was played at her funereal. My daughter died from cancer in 2011 from cancer. She was 32 with a 5 year old son. She died in my arms in my home. I sang this song to her for months before she passed but most certainly in the last 2 weeks she was in a coma and I lay in the bed with her. I'm sorry for your loss I know how that feels I've been fighting a brain tumor since I was seven and I went to st. Jude's children's research hospital and saw so many kids with so many sicknesses and then some kids didn't even make it I saw some family's cry cause their kid passed away but the good thing about that hospital is they try to find a cure for everything pretty much I was seven when I started going and now I'm twenty eight but I had to stop going there a couple of years ago because it's a children's hospital and I'm not considered a child anymore

When I was 12 my mother was diagnosed with cancer. She fought it off for almost 3 years. She was tired, she needed a rest. I remember in the last few weeks of her life me and little brother started learning how to sing and play this song on guitar. When we played it for her she did not make a sound. At that point she was mostly gone, but I know she heard it. Through the song she had a slight smile on her face. She died a few days later. This song was played at her funereal. Thank you for writing such a beautiful song. I'm not really the kind of person you would see here but this song has helped me cope more than I think it did for my mother. Thank you.

This song played on my then fiancé satellite radio the night I got the news that my mom had passed of a heart attack. Literally at the time I got the call.. We had just left hospital hr before.. We headed right back down for the hr drive while I left my 6 month old son behind with his grandparents.. On July 7th, 2012. I married Matthew Gerald.... This was our wedding song.... On July 17th, 2016 Officer Matthew Lane Gerald was killed , along side two other brothers in blue, in the line of duty... An ambush in Baton Rouge, Louisiana that took him from us... This song carries a whole new meaning for me now that he is gone.... We miss him so much.... I love you my blue eyed angel.
