His ability to time you and be a split second ahead of you is really the most underrated thing about him
He's looked shite in his last few fights. With his height and frame, Haney should be blowing jumped-up featherweights out the water. Can you imagine what a young Floyd would be doing to guys he out-reached by eight inches? Haney barely manages to look good. Perhaps that's because he's too big for the division (he's the same height as Canelo and is clearly starving himself just to make weight). Perhaps it's because he's being coached by Ben Davis, who has made Josh Taylor far worse than he used to be. Or perhaps it's because Haney isn't, despite all the hype, a world class boxer. I for one thing Shakur Stevenson is a better all-round fighter.

@@Iamdrippygod He's nothing like Floyd. Pretty Boy Floyd was running through the 135 division like a knife through warm butter in his early twenties. Haney gets rocked fighting jumped-up featherweights and he's much bigger than Floyd.
I agree that at 135 he doesn’t really have the power but in sparring…he’s hurting guys and sending them home fr. I think he cuts so much for 135 it drains him. As he goes up in weight I think he’ll pack more of a punch cause he won’t be as drained from. Making weight.
What is his natural weight?
Ryan Garcia, Isaac Cruz, and Gervonta Davis muscle are more bigger than Devin in that weight looks really drained,skinny

@@tssup562 Idrk his natural weight but when he’s not training he looks a lot bigger. Hes been saying for a while it’s getting harder and harder for him to make 135. If you look at his shoulders and legs when he fights you can definitely tell.
@@ericparra3356 maybe but guys like Bud had this same problem until he went up in weight. Once he got to 140 he really had more grown man power and really started knocking guys out.

That was a very solid breakdown. I do believe he trained with Roy Jones Jnr as a youth. Some of those skills seem to be there. I hope he continues to grow a great champ for the sport.

He could been the next undisputed champion of the 4 belt era by now if kambosos wasn't giving him the run around. Maybe moved to 140 and make a dent in the p4p list (maybe). He's so talented and has so much time to improve, just needs the opportunity
Technically he is not the real WBC lightweight champion, he didn't beat the man who had the belt. He was upgraded to champ when Loma (who actually earned the WBC belt against Linares) as upgraded to the stupid franchise champion stuff

@@metadr technically he's the WBC champion dummy. There are plenty of fighters that get their belts stripped. No one beat David benevidez however Canelo got his belt. It's that simple. The WBC created a belt that only benefits non black fighters.

You should start a series and do style analysis comparison. For example tank vs haney as the first one as u have done videos on both of them and lots of people want to see this match up. A break down of the pros and cons of both fighters and who u think stylistcally will win would be a great video id love to watch

Brilliant outsiss fighter who has a solid jab to maintin the distance but to also measure up his opponents and set up shots, he has slick defense and great counter punching and can even tie up on the inside and use some of his inside work at times.
Haney needs to add uppercuts.. I noticed a lot of his foes will step in with their head lowered.. instead of step in or sidestepping with a uppercut.. he steps back
He so good he could call out everybody in his division with confidence. Dude so good he could deviate from a gameplan and risk getting hurt just to put on a show..

Haney’s an amazing fighter only lacking power really. That will hurt him eventually. He doesn’t need concussive power just something to make people respect him a little more
I think his power is gonna kick in eventually, if he had a bit more he’d easily be top 5

@@SoulPhoenixMC 135 might not be his prime weight class. He could have more power at 140 as it’s only a 5lb jump. Could be all the difference.
Devin Haney will just have to show it to everyone. I saw Haney exhibit respectable power against Linares and Jojo Diaz. It was power that made them gun shy more than usual. As he gets better fights, he will just have to show it time and time again. He's doing fine for now from what I've seen recently. I hope we get Haney vs Kamboses.

I’ve been saying this forever Haney doesn’t just have one style being aggressive won’t help much if the boxer isn’t as skilled as Haney people just say Floyd style running Haney will make sure you walk into some shit and he doesn’t just move around he’s firing from different angles and like he said good punch placement he can also switch up tempos but casuals just notice things like power and speed they don’t even know Ring IQ and footwork and how small simple things make a huge difference especially if you’re disciplined like he is

Good boxer, but seems to step with his jab while also dropping his rear hand guarding his chin. Seems like a pretty big hole for a well timed lead hook from orthodox. Hopefully he can patch that hole because I look forward to seeing him grow as a fighter.
He is young his style and Technigue was extraordinary and his power will be increase asap .

Haney versus Kambosos coming up 5th of June. Going to be an interesting fight. Both like to fight on the outside, both counter-punchers who like to lead hook off the jab. Both fast with good reach and neither of them power punchers. Who wins?

I think Haneys height reach, footwork and speed will give him great advantages over Kambosos. I think Kambosos would try to apply as much pressure as he can but along as Haney can keep his composure I see him winning pretty easily

50/50 fight. Shakur won’t hurt Haney so Haney will keep coming forward. Shakur more skilled but Haney has great skills too, so the gap isn’t that big between them. Haney the naturally bigger man. I’d bet Haney to win

I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid on Haney AT ALL. I feel like unless he make some pretty fundamental improvements in several places, he's got a major league ceiling over him. With this said, this is a pretty honest and accurate review of how he operates currently 👍
Shakur is looking more advance and sharper, and he has gotten better when Haney looks like he's stagnated or even regressed. I mean even in Shakur's "boring fights", he boxes beautifully the guy doesn't get hit at all, his domination of herring is what a young guy is suppose to do against the older champ, Haney needs a performance like that

I like Haney but he get's hit with a clean shot way too often. Jojo Diaz is nowhere near of a blue chip fighter yet he landed 4 clean shots throughout the fight. Imagine someone with the power of Tank or Ryan Garcia land a clean shot. He would be out.

Kambosos has clearly faster hands and sharper punches and will counter him in the pocket all night long.
Obviously Kambosas doesn’t believe that or else he would’ve took the fight quick fast an in a hurry to expose Devin but to no avail.

He got his belt gifted to him over email (though he is the legit WBC champion, as wrong as that may be) and now has a gift to fight for all the other belts. And hes only getting that because a war broke out and the guy originally meant to fight decided to stay and play his part in that war! He and his dad originally priced themselves out with their demands.
