- how to make your own dingle-dangles! Xander demonstrates how he makes his own dingle dangles and gives a comprehensive overview on how to use them.
Dingle dangles is an enhancement that rock and surf anglers in South Africa use to increase their casting distance and to improve their hook ups with circle hooks!

Thanks! Noted! Sal dit in gedagte hou!
Wow
#zlf 🎣 for the win 🙏🏻
Very nice
Thanks!
keep at it!! lekker vid
Thanks Duvan!
Great Video . Jou editing skills is nou hotshit. Daar leer ek Nou Iets. Good one Xander .
Thanks Stuart!
make a how to catch the black rays with specs on tackle line weight, hook sizes and where to catch them.
if u did that that would be very helpful for me
Netjies! ‘n live bait demo net so voor kabeljou seisoen sal waardeur word
Grtjes.
Great video Xander!
nice, keep it up :)
Thanks man
I made the dangles with the 90lb cable, great dangles, I used to make it with 2split rings and I was also unable to thread the bait with a needle, but with these, life's easy!
@@kapildevunath3162 great! This is why I make these videos! To make life easier for anglers!
Jou doring!
(hoeke, lyn, leaders, katrol, stok en quality of life items)
Does the dingle dangle work for J-hooks
Can you use normal wire instead of carbon coated and like a normal like string type wire instead of dacron
Very informative video. If one were to add a skellem hook to the dangle (bearing in mind personal preference) would you fix the hook to the bottom of the dangle using a figure 8 knot in place of a ring? Or would you attach a smaller O ring to the dangle and then add the skellem hook. I am yet to try dangles for edible Angling, still very old school when it comes to kob fishing in particular. Definitely am keen to see how effective it is this up and coming season. TIA. (BTW very good theory on the use of the dacron dangles)
Hi...thanks! I wouldn't at all recommend that you use a skelm hook underbeath the circle hook! It interferes with the job of the bigger circle hook. Another issue is that it poorly hooks a bigger fish before the circle hooks the fish and you end up losing your fish....stick to one circle hook on a bait... of you want to catch the smaller fiah rather use one small circle then.
Have a look at this video: ua-cam.com/video/_aLWcj7ONx0/v-deo.html here we fish for edibles and we actually tie some of the baits on like per normal as you would on a J hook...if it is a soft bait that is..but have a look🤙🏻 thanks for watching my video
Excellent video Bud, what pound breaking strand would you recommend when using Dacron?
Thanks! 130lbs is optimal.
Just watched AGAIN, so much info. Your homemade clip from wire, what wire do you use. Wires have different strengths and thicknesses. Obviously as you cast you don’t want it to open. I’ve made clips from SS C02 wire, seems strong, but yet to be tested.
Thanks, i just use piano wire, thinks its American wire, the single strand that they use for couta! But recently i have adapted my dangle a bit and don't use those clips anymore...things are ever changing. You dont need to make clips you can just use split rings as well, thats the easiest.
awesome video. i really enjoy using those imp clips for distance casting but its hard to use it wen using big baits cause it hooks the hook too much. the dingle dangles really does make a huge difference when using large baits especially off the beach or casting long distance. might give it the soft dingle dangle a go haha
Shot...thanks man...dangles work great and is a game changer
do I have to use the foam?, i was thinking just using like that with out it
Hi, no you dont have too..thats why I like to make my own! But when I dont want my bait to float I like to add a thin piece of foam just to act as a base for my bait and to secure it...but sometimes when I use a fish head I dont use any foam.
Lekker video Xander! Where do you buy your high-density foam from? I can't seem to find any. I have so much surfboard foam but when something bites it just breaks.
Thanks! The surfboard foam definitely has its place, most tackle shops sell the high density foam. I know Stil Fishing sells it👌🏻 www.stilfishing.com
@@zoolookfishing Shot! Checked on the online store and saw it. Sold out right now 😥 will order the moment new stock comes in.
so how many surfers did you hook for that foam LOL!
Baie goeie video!
Awesome, as ek mag vra, indien jy spesifiek hulle target.
Please can you make a raggie trace and bait length and hook size(FMJ)
Noted.....i will do it in the near future...watch out for it on the channel
Can you use 130lb mono line?
I would'nt use 130lbs mono, sharks will bite it off and 130lbs is going to be very bulky.
hey man quick question, where can I buy the mold to.make that sinker? dude thanks for the follow on Instagram!!!!!
Hi search for : do it mould on google. I am sure they will have.
I am from the u.k and i do not understand why you cant just bind your bait up with elastic as normal and hook it through the top as normal
How does a dingle dangle help???????
Im confused
Because we clip our bait onto our weight to increase the distance with the cast. Using a dangle that runs through the bait allows you to make the bait more aero dynamic allowing your bait to travel with your sinker with minimum resistance. Does it make sense?
Also when your bait travels with your bait the bait does not trail in the air behind the bait, swirling and might tangle with the rest of your trace.
@@zoolookfishing thanks
Makes sense now.
@@karlstokes874 awesome! Try it where you might need extra distance...i font know how big the baits are that you guys use and how far you need to cast but if you need to make a long cast give it a go!
@@zoolookfishing unfortunately in the u.k the average fish caught from the shore is always under 10 lbs, mere pups in comparison to the beasts that swim in your waters!
However, ive learnt something from you.
And that can only be a good im sure this technique will be useful to me in the future
After all,
Life is a learning curve.
Fish well,stay safe
Kind regards brother
;-)
