    Fishing Tackle Rigs (en stroppe)
    A simple cuphook ¿ screwed into a tomato plank; makes it so much easier to grip the swivel as you tie your knots.
    B. As you dress the knot, a drop of spit prevents the centre line twisting like plasticine 😕

    Nice work. I did not understand the application in the lead, if you want flexibility and strength, it would not be with a better quality rope.

    So if its tighter t the sinker, does it mean the line will break at swivel?

    • @bevanroman9823
      @bevanroman9823 Рік тому +1

      But both your swivel and sinker knots are strong for the one line, how does your line then not break off?

    • @crazyforfishingsa
      @crazyforfishingsa  Рік тому +1

      Yip, fish will still come out even if Sinker does get caught(break off). My sinker line is a lighter line, so if the main line/leader line is 26kg, then I use a sinker line of +-16kg, making it easier to snap if stuck so that I don't lose the fish. Hope that makes sense😉🎣🎣🤙🏻

    • @orangeshaw2370
      @orangeshaw2370 8 місяців тому +1

      Alternatively create that weak spot by adding a normal knot, between the sliding swivel and the sinker. (Few people realise how a simple knot will compromise the strength of the line)

      Yes, if both trace lines are the same b/s, simply tie one over knot loop on the sinker trace line, which will snap off there, when enough pulling pressure is exerted at the knot.
      We normally use a thinner dia line than the hook trace line,!
      Whichever sinker knot will need to be tied properly,! ... 🎣

    That figure of 8 knot to the swivel on the hook section is going to break first. It’s not done properly. You need to open the up the coils first before you pull it tight.

    Why nylon rope for sinker?

    • @crazyforfishingsa
      @crazyforfishingsa  Рік тому +2

      When you use line through sinker, there is friction and can cause line to snap when casting😉🎣🎣🤙🏻

    • @michaeleverton4882
      @michaeleverton4882 11 місяців тому +2

      🎣 after some time, the nylon tied directly to a sinker will get damaged on the knot and /or next to it, as it is retrieved over rocks etc.
      You will see the rough marks on the nylon line.
      Tie a new sinker trace, when you consider it necessary,! 🎣

  • @michaeleverton4882
    @michaeleverton4882 Рік тому +1

    🎣 Hi Johan, -
    I have commented on your knots previously,! ...
    Your fig 8 knot on first swivel, ...
    I simply make three or more loops, depending on line thickness; - and holding them in position between my fingers!
    That's easier for me.
    If I tie thinner lines than I double the line, then tie my fig eight knot; it has to be done more carefully,!
    The Important part which you did Not get right, is Forming the (horizontal) fig 8 coil Formation with the coils! ...
    Do that by arranging the coils, they will form fig 8 formation automatically if you get it right!
    After that, the coils are made wet and pulled down tight.
    Your coils did not lie next to each other neatly in forming your knot,!
    As I've mentioned previously, the coils in any correctly tied knot must be like that as they support each other in the knot's strength.
    If not tied correctly, the knot will be strong enough up to it's capability, but it is best to tie any knot correctly,!
    Also, if the sinker line trace is the same diameter as the main line, simply tie One overloop knot on that line section.
    The knot will cut thru and snap off, losing the sinker,!
    However, we usually use a thinner diameter line, to tie a sinker line trace,! ... 🎣

      Hi Michael, Thanks for the detailed description, I always appreciate it. Like you probably already know about me, I never do it according to the book, I do what works for me. Tried and tested my way, and it works! Obviously, those watching have their own opinions and would also prefer to do it according to the book. With these same knots, I have landed some beautiful species, and none of the knots have ever loosened. I have tried many knots over the years, and some I have actually adjusted to work for me. I think everyone tries to make it easier for themselves, and if it works, why not. But thanks again for your explanation. Sharing your techniques might help others improve on making their knots perfect! Thanks for still watching Crazy For Fishing SA 😉🎣🎣🤙🏻
