Modernised y2k and original y2k are two completely different genres but i actually like both, we could also see the low rise still being kept in trend now
Nah, we were just broke teens who had to adhere to a dress code back then. Most high schools would have made you change clothes if you wore the first two outfits.
@@PandoraBear357girl I don’t remember people actually dressing like bratz tho. We remember that as y2k outfits because they were style icons but let’s be real, the fashion wasn’t wearable back then at all lol.
@@JustMe-vs1kj It was mostly the rich girls that were. I wouldn’t say they were dressed like bratz but I do remember seeing people dress like that or similar.
mid 2000s also something entirely different. this video makes no sense. what do people think y2k means? it’s in the name…. it’s around the year 2k. like up to 2003
@@salishanmusic facts. If you look at pictures from that era the cool girls actually did dress like this. The mid-2000s is where it all started to go downhill 😂😂😂
It's true!! The first outfit is more similar to things celebs might have worn in a music video back then, if anything. But that wasn't what regular people were wearing. 2nd outfit nailed it lol
Some of the fashion tiktokkers are unhinged! They did not live through y2k, they don’t know how close to the abyss they are dancing 😭😭😭 it’s very fun though!
Yep!! 😂 The nostalgia pushes for more of the Bratz and Winx Club look (plus some celebrities and tv characters), but in reality most of us dressed as the second one.
Yeah it slays but don't call it Y2K. Maybe call it "Y2K-Inspired" or "2000s high fantasy" lmao idk, it's just funny seeing younger people these days actually believing we all dressed like bratz dolls back then.
The second outfit looks so comfy and somehow fits me being an artist. The bratz outfit is of course very cute but I am not a fan of micro skirts. I'll find every opportunity to sit down and not move if I wore that skirt.
Okay but I love your original y2k outfit. I would 1000% wear outfits like that every day and I do my best to do so. The more painfully 2000s the better in all honesty
i think where people went wrong back then is some people would pair the oddest colors together like a hot pink and a electric blue, but to be fair it was such a look then! i think it’s cause no one really understood light with the contrast of darker color or a color closer to the color theory
The second one brought me back. I was a kid at the time, but I remember that was one of the styles back then and I would wear something similar to school
That's because y2k is a late 90's futuristic style, and what you are wearing is more mcbling style of the noughties and teenage noughties fashion (2nd look).
Hey, flare and bootcut jeans are the sh*t. I was so happy when stores starting selling them in my size again, since plus size stores are always a year behind the trends.
Same girl I was dressed like you back then (but worse), I was obsessed being edgy that time 💀 cause people learn & grow up together with their fashion style
Modern y2k is what I see in the manga books back then. Peach Girl’s Momo Adachi featured the exact fashion I’m seeing today. I swear Japanese fashion is so future forward

What gen Z saw about the y2k are from popular 2000s movies and celebrity photoshoots.
I always think this new modern y2k isn't what people actually wore but what the dolls of the time were wearing. All the outfits give peak bratz.
YEAH SO RIGHT AND ALSO THE RICH PROTAGONISTS IN TEEN FLICKS
Not me thinking u meant trans girls lmao ☠️
Exactly 💯
Y2k and mid 2000s are very different aesthetics.

Exactly!
People in parties kind of worn it
Exactly. It’s very Mean Girls but not what any of us actually wore back then.
Yeah no go look at old red carpet pictures the celebs did not dress any better
Right! Even today teens in movies and music video dress really different from actual teenagers
The second one was the 'Baddie Starter Pack 2000's'
It's givings Bratz doll
@@isabelcardona1078as it should
That belt shows she is a cool girl 💅 My city was specially obsessed with golden or silver ones 😂
“The movie Thirteen as a capsule wardrobe”
Gurl that second one was givin Maddie from suite life 😂😂😂😂😂
We're so close to thinking Shake it Up outfits were peak fashion
NOOOO STOPPP
who is we

Celebrities didn't dress like the 1st tho , they dressed like the 2nd and they were the inspo for the rest of the ppl
I actually like the second fit
same lol
Samesies but i wouldn’t wear it 😅
Same lmao
@@xxxflowerdreamss I would if I was like a celebrity 💀
Samee
Lol I remember the mismatched layering trend and thought it was so cool to wear jeans with a skirt or a long shirt
Ahhh...the Hannah Montana theme brings back memories.
This ain’t it…
Knocked the cobwebs off in an instant, I wasn't ready lol 💀
Lol ye
so real omg
this is probably what people who lived through older decades like the 50s and 60s think of what we think of their aesthetic
leg warmers with the same shade boots is just chefs kiss
THE BRATZ SOUNDTRACK
That's true. the 2020s don't like reality, just aestheticism
Seriously, where are the knee length girls' cargo shorts to go with grunge tees and DC sneakers???
This's fashion, not a documentry. Why would we want the same thing again.
Seriously? LOL the whole point is to bring the best things of that era to this one not the whole soup
Yes, that's the point
@@strawberryinsomnia9188 those are actually coming back in style but I can’t say it’s a good thing🤢
The feeling of an unlooped belt riding up onto my bare waist makes me want to leap into a fire
It's like me wearing "50s dresses" inspired by American fashion while my grandmas looked absolutely different
YES.... you did that right! This is something a Pop Star would wear back in the day.
Thta outfit was kind of fire honestly
Bratz is so nostalgic to me
but the second is actually so good tho…who cares if the style is in or not if it slays it slays

@@Myplaylists93what? i was referring to the second outfit
The first outfit is like a Bratz doll in the best way!
I blame Disney Channel for how we used to dress back then 😂😂
The second outfit looks so comfy and somehow fits me being an artist.

It’s cool to see the y2k inspired outfits are evolving and mixing with the new fashion. They make some really neat stuff
Hahahah so true!! But both outfits are amazing!
The first one just ✨ Winx Club Theo messed the styling up 🙄☺️☺️
The leg warmers reminded me of Layla/Aisha from Winx Club 😅
This is so underrated!! Love the outfits ❤️❤️
Pinkpantress nails that y2k like every time sometimes I check when videos of her where recorded cuz her fits are such a throwback
Okay but I love your original y2k outfit. I would 1000% wear outfits like that every day and I do my best to do so. The more painfully 2000s the better in all honesty
I absolutely love the second outfit. I would probably wear that rather than the first (which also slayed dgmw)
the jacket is the only thing that ruined it tbh
The 2nd one is really cute and quirky though. I'd definitely wear it today
i think where people went wrong back then is some people would pair the oddest colors together like a hot pink and a electric blue, but to be fair it was such a look then! i think it’s cause no one really understood light with the contrast of darker color or a color closer to the color theory
Not the jeans under the dress 😭
2000s fashion could be cute tho. gimme those chrome jackets and boots
Okay but the second outfit ate too
I like the actual 2000s fashion.
Love the Bratz music, stylin choice ❤
The second fit is lowkey cute.
Both fits are so cute!!
It’s okay, I wore jeans under my jeans skirt around that time
2020s y2k is just real y2k in blended makeup and higher jeans
Real y2k is futuristic tho
@@AC-bk1jgTHANK YOU! Idk why people act like y2k is like 1996-2009 but that’s so not how it was.
Lmao last outfit was literally hannah montanas
BUT NGL- THEY BOTH SLAYED-

Wow the OG is fr a throwback

The second one is so pretty tho 💓😍
