With technology today everything changes so fast but back before even 90s, trends held on longer. That and trends don’t necessarily follow decades like we think they do. 1990 was still rocking 80s styles because it doesn’t automatically change. And subsequent years just what’s fashionable becomes iconic to that decade. You can see it early 2000s too. There was still 90s influence.

Anyway, people didn't dress like she does in the video. Boys wore plaid shirts open over t-shirts, or bowling shirts in the late 90s, and girls either went with the Clueless look or wore baby-doll tees with low-rise jeans or skirts with leggings.

Now we have a similar thing but for the year 2038.
Computers often store time as a big number called a Unix timestamp, that's just the number of seconds since Jan 1st 1970.
As we all know, computers store numbers as bits, and some computers store that information with 32 bits.
The thing is, those computers that can only count with 32 bits can only count far enough to Jan 19th 2038, and that number may roll over back towards Jan 1st 1970.
Luckily, most computer nowadays can count with 64 bits, which make it exponentially longer for that problem to occur in 292 billion years.

so none of the worst case scenarios happened,
so now you and this video maker can blithely think it was all imaginary.

What does that have to do with liking an aesthetic, though? No one's stopping you from wearing fashion from before you were born.

I am so tired of fashion that looks way too good for the early 2000's being called y2k, if only they were there to see the horrors.

Hey hey hey! my mother is from the 80s (she was born then) and was a young adult in the 2000s. I already knew the computer bug was what y2k really meant but i’m honestly going to say. Y2k can be referred to 2000s fashion but in most senses people take it out of hand and call grunge “Y2k” and it pisses me off. Just search up Y2k about anywhere and you will see.
