Hi Anoop, awsome information. I am just curious about the number of opportunities and market regarding DevOps role in Germany. This particular point wasn't clear from the interview. Apart from this, what would be the suitable sites for practical skill build-up for DevOps related skills. Thanks in advance.

Hi Richa, Thanks for your question
      1. The DevOps market in Germany is in high demand compared to other job profiles because it's an emerging field.
      www.linkedin.com/jobs/search/?keywords=devops%20engineer
The developer role is responsible to develop an application and hand it over to the services team or operational team for further deployment in the production environment.
The DevOps role is to setup the development/UAT/production-ready CI/CD pipelines to build and deploy the application. It's initially done using Jenkins for build and shell, puppet scripts, etc for deployment. Later the build and deployments are carried out using Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environment.
The scenario has been changed now, the companies are expecting developers should have knowledge of the operational aspects. For example, production aiding the applications using operational tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and basics of Linux scripting along with application development.
If you are a Java developer, Acquire hands-on experience on Docker and Kubernetes along with Java frameworks like Spring boot, Hibernate, and database. Please put the focus on #Spring microservices with docker. It has a good Udemy course by a person called Ranga. The below link helps you to get there.
      www.udemy.com/course/docker-course-with-java-and-spring-boot-for-beginners/learn/lecture/16381778#notes
If you want to continue or pursue your career in DevOps put a focus on CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/Azure. In Udemy you will get good courses. I am more interested in AWS now so, I am currently looking into AWS certification for developers and I am following the course from Udemy by the same person Ranga. This might help you. The course is started from ABC of AWS.
      www.udemy.com/course/aws-certified-developer-associate-step-by-step/learn/lecture/22969602#overview
In my experience, I worked as a developer in and DevOps role. I got an opportunity to work in customer support.
I wish you all the best in your future endeavors in Germany.

    Hi Anoop & Nava,
This is the first time I came across your videos and these are very informative.
    Few questions I have.
1- Job opportunities for technical Support roles in Germany.
2- also it's not an easy task for a support engineer in india to get an onsite opportunity.
Kindly, share your thoughts on this and how we can directly apply in Germany.
    Thanks.

      Hi Aryan,
      Thanks for your question.
The oppurtunites in technical support depends on your skillset. For example.
      1. In technical support role, if you are experienced with scripting languages like shell, puppet, python then extend your learning to get real time experience in AWS, Docker and Kubernetes infrastructure setup to accquire the skillset of DevOps role.
      2. In techical support role. if you are experienced with programming langues like Java, Python then extend your learning to get realtime experience in Spring boot, Docker and Kubernetes . If it's python then get real time experience knowleged on webframe works like Django, Flask. etc. Python knowledge helps if you want to move into ML or DS roles.
Technical support has multiple dimensions. Two among them are listed below.
      1. If you are on customer support and handling the requests (Issues, enhancements etc) and attempting to resolve those requests technically then those skills are very useful when you move as developer the perspective of you looking into the requirements will be different to handle all the boundary cases.
      2. If you are already a developer and providing technical support to the customer support team. Try to take the perspective from them, it will be very helpfull.
Most of the support roles in Germany needs German language if you are looking for customer centric role. if you learn the language and apply for the positions that's much appreciated and encouraged to do.
The oppurtunites list you can find in linkedin.
      www.linkedin.com/jobs/search/?keywords=technical%20support%20engineer
      Regards,
      Nava

      @@tnavakrishna Hi Nava,
I appreciate your reply. However, the Technical support roles which I am referring here has nothing to do with development. For ex. Office 365 support, on-prem Active Directory support, Outlook client Application support, Microsoft Azure AD support. Hope you got my point. Please share how is the market in Germany for such roles.
Adding to it I would like to discuss with you on the dev-ops path in person whenever you have time.
      Thanks.

      Hi Praveen
You don't need to be a Leetcode expert to get a job. There are some companies who will have a live coding challenge on platforms like Leetcode but there are also companies that don't do it. The best way is to apply to as many jobs as possible and improve your chances of getting hired
