Shehz Man RadioShack turned into The Source. The Source sucks, and is probably going out of business. RadioShack had nice little gizmo's, and technology. The source sells crap.
kipkay apparently an arduino can be programmed to flash itself with sketches? i dont know how this works, i saw it on hackaday recently. presumably this could be implemented with an IR Led plugged into an arduino input pin and writing a software that flashes the screen to transmit the code
Ok Kipkay, you're on the right path again. This is why I came to your channel, not for the endless advertisements. That is a great idea to have restrictive content, I don't care what anyone else thinks. Glad you are "back."
Awesome. I got an arduino as a gift this past Christmas. I've had some good fun with it... I suppose the most challenging part is trying to create your own projects and write your own programs. I think I need to make my own Kiduino! Thumbs up!
Nicely done video. The only problem is you can buy these dirt cheap on Ebay, and other websites. Like most things today, they are made in China. This is one circuit I would prefer to buy ready made due to cost.
Average price of an Arduino board: $33.61 Price for a high-end Raspberry Pi: $35 For less than $2 more you get an entire computer system (that runs Linux), as opposed to a microcontroller. And yet people still use Arduinos?
***** The ARM chips on the raspberry pi are processors as opposed to microcontrollers. The chip on the pi doesn't have any internal storage where you can store your code you want to run. So I believe that an arduino(or any other microcontroller based platform really) is much easier to start off with than the pi. Both have their own upsides and downsides and will appeal to different people. Conclusion: I agree with you.
Why people still use arduino? Prototyping microcontrollerapplications. And why use microcontrollers? If you need something really small with very low power consumption. For example the controller for a RC plane. You don't need a full linux on it. The microcontroller uses less power and the big advantage is: If you have a fullblown linux it is harder to implement real time criteria. on a microcontroller you know how many cycles you will spend for every instruction. so you know: ok i need these instructions, they take x cycles. 1 cycle takes y ns *numberchrunching* ok i'm garantueed to get a new steering direction for the current heading in 0.5ms which is enough to avoid chrashing. I hope i made a good example for you :)
Because as you said so yourself the arduino is a microcontroller based platform. It's for prototyping a project you might build using a microcontroller, this lets you figure out what kind of peripherals you'll need for your final build. Obviously you don't wanna keep building prototype boards just to find out you left something out you might have needed and this is where the arduino excels. People also just like to build cool little one of projects and the arduinos generic-ness makes it perfect for one off temporary builds that are just for fun. The PI while cool is for an entirely different set of tasks and is not really comparable to the arduino. Thank you DarkXTC as I was writing this I saw your comment and you have a much better example/explanation.
Bad Larry Films - Takes much less time booting it up - Easier to use when creating portable/on-the-go projects - You can make your own barebones Arduino for about 5 dollars - It's much easier programming the board with another computer (or external IDE) - More power on the I/O pins - Fully open-source
Which works out the cheaper option? This is great if you are prototyping your own project to get it produced but arduinos are £5 from China (not official ones obviously but they do the job).
just an advert for the kit! i literally learnt nothing i didn't know at the start of the video, apart from the fact its available from your store!? what happen to the old kipkay videos which used to show cool things you could actually do and finish without having to pay you!?
I'm looking forward to this as my first project, but the surface mount stuff really intimidates me. I hope the instructions are up to walking me through it.
The professionals use hot air or ovens for surface mount soldering, but I do hear that there are other techniques for mere hobbists. Once you have it together what are you going to do with it?
i wanted to kno ..... to which pins did u connect the led ?? ..... after makin the kipduino, wer shud i connect the pins for my projects...... pls help me i'm very much intrested in doing this project
Hey kipkay, I love your video and the idea to do kits but there just 1 problem, I'm I'm Canada and I'm sure you have many international fans so now I'm paying $10 for the kit then I'm spending even more for shipping!!!! So in the end I'm spending more than if I bought the parts from my local parts store! But I still want to support you!
The problem with that is if someone shares one particular video and people see it, they won't know to go to his page and specifically look for that type of video to find the info
I know this is asking for a lot, but is there any way to make an iron man helmet that you could show me? I don't understand other videos but since you are my favorite youtuber, I was thinking you could show me and the rest of the world too.
Honestly, a regular Ardunio seems better. This is nice and all for simple stuff, but if you want to add anything else it's going to be a pain in the ass. You already have a ton of wires just from making the Kipduino with little room to add more. The Ardunio just uses circuits.
Kipkay I need your help. I have this old controler laying around (which doesent work) and I'm trying to crack it open. But for me these screws are impossible to take out. Then I decided to cut it open with an exacto knife but this thing is harder to crack open then it looks. Help me
i like the kipduino, but why do i need to buy it from you instead of buying everything and get your instruction video without subscribing? also, why don't you have anyntutorials around that tin can?
Dear kipkay, I love burning lasers but i am only 11 and btw i intend to use it for emergencies only like when in gonna die,i cant buy stuff like laser pointers and all those good stuff like screwdrivers and drills and whatever so please help me,i really want it. Thanks kipkay,i appreciate it!
I really like your web cast but also i'm not that good in building circuits plus that I'm living in the UAE which I'm not sure if you can get me the kit right her please respond :)
+kipkay is it possible to read the state of an LED on another device using an Arduino/Kipduino? This spawned an idea to interface my arduino to my home alarm, and read the leds state for the zones and the armed status from the keypad, and using a wifi adapter, send an email in status changes. I was thinking like a shared ground + positive should work?
hi, do you know how to use old mobile phones as input devices for windows or android tablets? those with 12 key keypads or bb9700 keyboards. connection via usb or bluetooth. i remember how i use to type really fast and accurately on those.
I don't feel very violated by this, but it seems like since UA-cam has got all popular as the #1 video source today, partners of YT dont really get much choice of thinking outside the box. The fun thing about kipkay is that he advertises within the advertisement before. Sounds like a hyperbolic paradime to me.
How can you make a circuit board, Mister Kipkay right. Did I spell your name right? But make a professional circuit board just like Samsung does or other companies.
Remember the good old kipkay days, when everything was free, and he was willing to help even if you weren't a "member"....
FIRST! Thanks for watching! Thumbs UP if you like the Kipduino!
First View !!!
LargeAll Ask kip and say exept from him
Shehz Man RadioShack turned into The Source. The Source sucks, and is probably going out of business. RadioShack had nice little gizmo's, and technology. The source sells crap.
Did it happen in the uk or is it everywhere that radioshack is going out of buisness?
Dale Gribble Canada. Radioshack technically doesn't even exist. Unless the Source changes it's marketing they're probably done for.
Now make a Kipberry Pi.
Great idea :D
Yes
Make a Kipduino!
do you know where to buy 2 pin switch levers online
kipkay can i get it on your website even me is on the other country ...?
kipkay apparently an arduino can be programmed to flash itself with sketches? i dont know how this works, i saw it on hackaday recently. presumably this could be implemented with an IR Led plugged into an arduino input pin and writing a software that flashes the screen to transmit the code
+kipkay I don't have the materials...
kipkay wow
finally something worth watching, man, i was still watching the channel waiting for it to have something good again someday
Great work Kip!!
Hi Daym!
Whaaat Daym Drops! Supaaa officiaaaaal!
I'm actually surprised that I see you here
THIS is the kipkay we miss!! Please come back
Ok Kipkay, you're on the right path again. This is why I came to your channel, not for the endless advertisements. That is a great idea to have restrictive content, I don't care what anyone else thinks. Glad you are "back."
My son is going to love his new subscription for his birthday! (Okay, we're BOTH pretty excited!) You're the best, Kip!
You should do some more cool laser giveaways!
Awesome. I got an arduino as a gift this past Christmas. I've had some good fun with it... I suppose the most challenging part is trying to create your own projects and write your own programs. I think I need to make my own Kiduino! Thumbs up!
Am I the only one who misses the days when KipKay's videos weren't so wrapped around KipKay Kits?
Great video again after a long amount of time! Thank You!
Omg this project is gonna be amazing!! Can't wait to receive it in the mail!!
Keep doing what you do, make that paper !!
I wish you all the success in the world !!
"circuit mount soldering"... That'd be "surface mount soldering", as opposed to through-hole soldering.
Oops. Yea I said circuit instead of surface by accident. I don't have anyone to double check my stuff. Lol
Rad Kip! Looks like a fun project.
I liked the old kipkay better!!!
To bad
Rhaan Jarvis F*** you
Rhaan Jarvis I guess you didn't watch many of the, Mcguyver-esque 'Put the led, waterbottle and leaf together and make a pipe bomb' videos.
Finally a great kit. Thanks.
Miss the old Kip :-(
Anybody else remember when these videos weren't just commercials?
*SMH*
Very neat. Seems similar to the uno board though. But that's good enough for my project.
I love your videos and this was no exception
No ads? THANK YOU.
Nicely done video. The only problem is you can buy these dirt cheap on Ebay, and other websites. Like most things today, they are made in China. This is one circuit I would prefer to buy ready made due to cost.
This video was great it shows how to attach the parts more videos like this plz
you are awesome kip!
Awesome project
There you go Kip!!!!!!! WTG on the great video. Please keep it up.
Kipkay should do a "Draw My Life" would be cool
Everyone Watches and Enjoys KipKay :D

Kipkay, you should make an AM transmitter so that I can use my old radio to listen to more than just ESPN. ;)
just an advert for the kit! i literally learnt nothing i didn't know at the start of the video, apart from the fact its available from your store!? what happen to the old kipkay videos which used to show cool things you could actually do and finish without having to pay you!?
you uploaded this video on my bday
Next time, kipberry pi, hahaha
what about a kippi (rasberry pi)? if that is possible.
i am getting one soon but what is the best easy project to do with it? using matters that are laying around
You should make a DVD tray holder that gives you your movies
I'm looking forward to this as my first project, but the surface mount stuff really intimidates me.
I hope the instructions are up to walking me through it.

Does that just run on 5VDC? If so, why not just route power through the USB port?
Really cool I'm definitely likeing
If i buy a kit will i have full access to the extra videos forever???
i wanted to kno ..... to which pins did u connect the led ?? ..... after makin the kipduino, wer shud i connect the pins for my projects...... pls help me i'm very much intrested in doing this project

Kipkay sounds like Kermit the frog...
Kip, stop advertising your kipkay kits site, especially in the middle of a good video, just make one promo video, and see if people join
The problem with that is if someone shares one particular video and people see it, they won't know to go to his page and specifically look for that type of video to find the info
MrmappyINOF™ This video was really made only for the kit, and pretty much all other recent uploads from Kipkay too.
Shipping outside the US costs $15! How is that cheaper than buying the components in a store in my country?
I know this is asking for a lot, but is there any way to make an iron man helmet that you could show me? I don't understand other videos but since you are my favorite youtuber, I was thinking you could show me and the rest of the world too.
btw . are these cheaper than real arduino and same of functional with the real one ??
Honestly, a regular Ardunio seems better. This is nice and all for simple stuff, but if you want to add anything else it's going to be a pain in the ass. You already have a ton of wires just from making the Kipduino with little room to add more. The Ardunio just uses circuits.
Thumps up soo cool big fan!!!
Kipkays making good videos again? Resubbed :D
"Good". In fact, this is all ads.
why do i feel like these videos are advertisements?
Maybe because they are...
1:23 Circuit mount soldering? :P
Kipkay I need your help. I have this old controler laying around (which doesent work) and I'm trying to crack it open. But for me these screws are impossible to take out. Then I decided to cut it open with an exacto knife but this thing is harder to crack open then it looks. Help me

He never said you have to buy it from him he does it for convenience. If you are like me you find the parts on your own.
What kimd of microcontroller chip and USB chip did you use?
Would rather buy an arduino but still like this one!
can we buy one thats already made?
Hey kipkay im start Ing to wacth your videos there really interesting to me im only 13 so I cant do alot of your projects
beware, home made arduinos can burn out really easily if you dont regulate their input voltage.
I believe that it would be cheaper to just buy one!
Of course you could just buy one but what would be the challenge of that? Oh, I said that in the video.
I've been looking for a project! I will actually try that! Sorry for jumping to conclusions! I just commented before it had finished
When you upload the code to the Kipduino, does it upload to the 28 pin thing?
Can your cat be the host for the show 😻
It feels like somebody... IS TRYING TO SELL ME SOMETHING!
thankyou its so cool
PIPLUP!!!
Dear kipkay,
I love burning lasers but i am only 11 and btw i intend to use it for emergencies only like when in gonna die,i cant buy stuff like laser pointers and all those good stuff like screwdrivers and drills and whatever so please help me,i really want it.
Thanks kipkay,i appreciate it!
HEY! KIPKAY... I challenge you to make a RC door lock :D and make a DIY video of this challenge :P
Do a q&a please .
I really like your web cast but also i'm not that good in building circuits plus that I'm living in the UAE which I'm not sure if you can get me the kit right her please respond :)
this guy is really smart

i am going to do one
Which plugin do you using for generate login and registration page? (He use wordpress 3.9)
Nice, but which Arduino do I have to select in the software?
uno board
Thats so cool!!!
Kip i love electronicks! But i have every chip , kaps...ect every where. Make a projeckt that can keep stuff in one place. Like a box. Plz peaze
Awesome!
Nice so the half of your content on the internet is now only for premium user. nice.....
So how do you want him to pay the bills then? If he got another job to make a living that half of his content on the internet wouldn't even exist.
No. This video is absolutely free as is the schematic for you to build it.
+itsThe1300 you get payed by UA-cam you know
What microcontroller do you use?
Kipkay can u do any hack for bike or bike accessories
The Kipduino!
This isn't Chris Archie. Go home.
KIPKAY PRESENTS:
Wtf? You are finnish
You play Runescape!!! Do you still play? I quit long ago
Its yiu
hi, do you know how to use old mobile phones as input devices for windows or android tablets? those with 12 key keypads or bb9700 keyboards. connection via usb or bluetooth.
i remember how i use to type really fast and accurately on those.
Buying an Energia launch pad is cheaper, i got mine a couple years ago for 5 bucks.
Are people just disliking because they are still mad about some ad he had in a video years ago.
YOU ARE THE BEST
He said Circuit Mount Soldering in the video...the correct term is Surface Mount Soldering...
is it same as arduino pls reply fast
Really merchandise what have you turned into kipkay
LOOL HE REMOVED HIS SECRET USB WHICH HE RE-UPLOADED
What if the Pokemon Audino was inspired by the Arduino?
is there any way I could just get a one off kit?
I don't feel very violated by this, but it seems like since UA-cam has got all popular as the #1 video source today, partners of YT dont really get much choice of thinking outside the box. The fun thing about kipkay is that he advertises within the advertisement before. Sounds like a hyperbolic paradime to me.
i have been making these for years
every microcontroller project of mine has one
i use less parts
How can you make a circuit board, Mister Kipkay right. Did I spell your name right? But make a professional circuit board just like Samsung does or other companies.
Kipberry Pi board next please
How did you learn all this?
hey can teach us how to get rid of iron in our pool water a cheap way?
