I highly recommend 'Love is the Message' Yussef Dayes and Co, Abbey Road version.
seconded
This performance is over the top.
With Mansur Brow, amazing guitarist
I concur!
definitely! one of my all-time favs
The new album he dropped with Charlie and Rocco is fucking amazing. “Welcome to the hills”
Yusef Dayes/Tom Misch collab album is real cool. Peep game.
“Ooh shit...” @ 2:10 had me dead lmao had no idea what he was getting in to
Been listening to this guy a ton lately. He's one of those guys who has 'a sound' - I feel like I can recognize his vibe almost immediately upon hearing him play a beat.
Also... under recognized attribute.... this guy can tune a drum!!! His drums always sound so on point.
*Drums start playing*
*silently watches* “Oh shiet...”
I love how you know your research and even mention people like Tony and Pino. You went from interplay to snare drum tightness. Love it. ❤
Been looking forward to your reaction to Yusef, awesome video! Check out “Love is the Answer” with him, Alfa Mist, Mansur Brown, and Rocco Palladino
Seconded

Dude is simply the best drummer I've ever heard.
I feel like he’s working trap grooves into his jazz playing and it’s amazing
Check Richard Spaven if you haven't already
Yes! I’ve noticed that!
Yussef plays so unique like hit by electricity. Fantastic Drummer with unique style
The words I'll use to describe Yusef is "excellent taste." And we all know it when we hear it. There are so many great drummers that I love and admire and yet I honestly think they overplay to the point that it's hard for me to really appreciate all the other music that the other musicians are creating.
The very reason that I want to be a good drummer is so that I can have the best seat in the house to hear and see good musicians ply their craft.
Great comment. I know it was 3 years ago. But Yussef released his debut solo album now, Black Classical Music, and I just saw him live on tour. And what you really notice about him is that even though it's his name on the marquee, he really highlights all of the other musicians in the band. They're playing like a real fivesome. He's not overindulgent. He's smiling and laughing the whole time and the whole band is having a good time- that's what Yussef Dayes is about. He loves the music!
Agree to the JD Beck comments! Also Louis Cole
Rocco Palladino getting called Pino is pretty amusing lol
Yussef Dayes, Alfa Mist- Love is the Message
could you react to jd beck zildjian live?
2nd this
Thanks for dropping all these names. This helps me to orientate in what I want to study next :)
That's what I'm hear for!
Love your passion and appreciation of the music in a knowledgeable way. Tiaga pass is amazing the bass player Rocco is amazing Yussef amazing it’s really quality sound. Love from 🏴❤️❤️🏴❤️❤️🏴❤️❤️🏴❤️❤️🏴
No sabía que Helsinki de "La casa de papel" tenía un canal de batería!!! Uno de mis favoritos Yussef
I don't know enough about drumming to even know who's the best, but Yussef Dayes is my favorite drummer to listen to and watch. I saw him live. You made a really good call there on the reggae influence!
Junkdrummer: “Ooooh shit!” That’s all of us, my dude. Yup.
Great video - Yussef is one of my favorite drummers today and always cool when people discover him. You were pronouncing his name right - it's "days" (Tom Misch says it in their latest Tiny Desk). Also, his name has two "S"s.
I love Yussef and I love the teachers commentary. Gives words to what I feel listening to the music.
Hey man, this is one of my favourites from Yussef and I've just geeked out so much over this reaction video. Love your insight and analysis. Really shows your passion for drums (and music) and shows you know what you're talking about. Liked, and you've now got a new subscriber. Please keep up the great work!!
Thank you!!
Thanx for this my friend ,Yussef is my all time fav drummer he has is own style,is on and off the beat with triple paradiddles is superb, thanx for high lighting and teaching us ,I learn something new every day 👍🎶😎
Check out Greyson Nektrutman sir. Hes an up and coming kid that absolutely slays covering the greats.
This is THE best reaction to yussef on youtube. Most people can't appreciate this as you do.
You should give Love is the message a listen. Dayes, Mansur Brown, alfa mist, Palladino
Highly recommended I think its their signature piece.
Live at abbey road.
Love the reference to T Williams and Ron Carter
I totally agree
Thanks so much for doing this! Great work as always!
Great video I'm so happy you reacted to Yusef. Can you react to JD Beck in "Nord Live Sessions: DOMi & JD Beck - Sniff?" or any JD Beck video for that matter.
seriously any jd beck vid haha
Co-signed....I would love to hear your impressions of JD Beck
Check out Love is the Message if you really want to hear Yussef in the pocket
I was literally about to recommend this video for you to check out holy shit big love
That’s some fucking grooves!
So, I'm left handed, but play a kit right handed. Dayes is one of the few drummers who plays similarly to what I've aimed to do since day one. Such a top notch talent!
Excellent breakdown. Enjoyed your commentary and subscribed!
Please react to "Love Is The Message" by Yussef Dayes, Alfa Mist Ft Mansur Brown & Rocco Palladino (Live At Abbey Road Studios)
Awesome reaction man!! Superb analyzing
Thank ya!
Great reaction! Yusef has that effect on anyone that listens to him jam. You have to check out "Love Is The Message" which was recorded @Abbey Road. He goes bonkers for about 13minutes.
That's a great ensemble with Alpha Misr
Please please look at Love is the message by Yussef Dayes
Glad you are reacting to Yusseff!
Incredible drummer, you should check out his playing with Alfa mist.
Loved the reaction. I'm a big fan of Yussefs work. Would love to watch you react to any of the other videos he has. I first heard him from the album Black Focus by Yussef Kamaal which is a Colab album with him and keyboardist/dj Kamaal Williams.
Thjat was my first reaction too. Listen to Love is the Message !
Thank you. Yussef is a drummer-extraordinaire. Alfa Mist, Rocco Palladino, Yussef and young Mansur Brown blow it out... Hope you enjoy it.
Yussef is dope. I learned something from this. Thanks
RIGHT! I’ve been busy but I’m so glad I came back to check your channel to see you finally reacted to Yussef Dayes. Rocco sounds just like his dad, crazy right?
Woooo daddy! You said it, Yusef got chops! This was really cool Brother!
Love this so much!
THANK YOU MISTER
"rocco's his father's son"
still waiting patiently for the "Atom willard Angels and Airwaves" react video, that will be a great day!
This is melodic perfection.....the mix of different genre's is timeless now. Trap Jazz?????
React to Alex Rudinger’ take on “When a Demon Defiles a Witch”
You ought to do a reaction to Crown if Mine- Acacia Ridge. They’re a metal band, but their drummer uses a lot of jazz techniques. Really cool stuff.
That baseline sounds so familiar
Roni size..... metalheadz vibe too
Or stanley clarke some decades back, curren$y more recently
deffo oooh and wow ... :-)
You should react to Chad Hasty in Glassjaw. Guy is insane.
Saw him at the haunt in Brighton, one of the best nights ever, I love his track blacked out with Alfa Mist, the London jazz scene is definitely going off
Most people would medicate a mind capable of such things.
You have to check out Damon Che
Soon
@@JunkdrummerTV ❤
Yusef Dayes is a BEAST!!!! He's one of my favorite "New School" drummer.
You should react to Chris corsano “famously short arms”

@@JunkdrummerTVhave a listen to Logical Progression by LTJ Bukem and Timeless by Goldie.
Glad you enjoyed discovering Yussef and co
You didn't play the last 45 seconds.
Check out amir bresler, another great creative drummer.
That's twice you Pino'd ... perfectly acceptable mistake ... :-)
He got lessons from Billy Cobham, no wonder he’s good
GO LISTEN TO WELCOME TO THE HILLS
Dayes is Jamaican
Pino's son ... yup, I'm feeling young .... NOT ... lol
Buzz Lightroll!!!
Reminds me a bit of medeski
I actually say that at the end
