and then you have 7er/8er dipshits saying "🤡🤡just go play the old games then???🤡🤡" when those two are literally the only tekken games available outside of consoles. I'd LOVE to play the old games, and if the morons at Namco liked money, I would've bought a minimum of 5 copies of T6 by this point.
I wish they would revert or at least revamp laws DSS and the chain throws for king to where doing the old input gives alot more reward than the new easy way
You're not crazy, man. I finally uninstalled T8 a couple weeks ago and I don't think I'm ever coming back. This is after almost 3k hours in T7, regularly going to locals for years and travelling to other countries for tournaments... Watching them get that award was like getting slapped in the face. They've made every mistake they could have made with T8 and they're getting rewarded for it. I'm so done.
I like the guy but yeah, his fence riding is absolutely terrible. Not gate keeping your game from the developers who just wanna turn it into Fortnite slop will just ruin it. Well, ruin it more than they already have.
The pyramid chart sums everything up perfectly - All the big name content creators, and pros have become completely unreliable sources of info and you can almost see them fighting off the tears & disappointment behind their eyes as they praise the latest DLC… I was shocked to see TMM reacting positively to characters like Clive & Victor, knowing that he used to always heavily favour the more grounded martial art based characters…. That’s the whole reason I used to watch TMM…. For those of us veterans in the middle of the pyramid it just feels like we’re constantly being robbed for actually trying to master a skill..

Its very nice to witness this interesting social experiment real time: how much torture can a group of dedicated people take before they have had enough. So far it looks like limits are pretty wild.
Come on bro every company does this esp in the year 2024 don’t make it seem like it’s an isolated incident. Most things you like and support at 1 time or another does this to make money
The Heihachi stage was a breaking point so I would say when it comes to monetization mixed with gameplay that's probably the only time the majority will be angry with the game
@@HulksterInHeavenThe Heihachi stage was a breaking point? Face it: Nobody really cared about a reskin of the arena stage. They were upset because they expected free shit and didn’t get it. This was the same update that gave us a free story chapter, but instead of discussing the DLC, everybody was hard-focused on whining about a reskin of a stage that came with the game because they had to pay like $3 for it. Seriously? Bamco should’ve clarified that stages weren’t included in the season pass, but that’s all the criticism I can muster.
I hate the argument of "Yoshimitsu uses a sword, so you shouldn't have a problem with Clive"! I mean, one character standing out and filling a niche is fine, yes, but that doesn't mean we should be throwing in more and more over-the-top nonsense.
Not to mention that yoshimitsu was in both soul caliber and tekken, so he really is definitely the exception. Plus yoshi has been an OG character since Tekken 1 lol. Him and Clive are nothing alike whatsoever, as Clive is more like an Shonen swordsman protagonist than anything lol
My biggest confusion is that some Clive fans were genuinely against Tifa because she's "too basic" or "just another punch and kick girl"??? Her style is still grounded in martial arts, she nade sense! Not everyone wanted her for appearance reasons 😭
This channel along with comments are the only thing keeping me grounded. Valid criticism for a game we all love is shut down without room for discussion. My love for Tekken as a series keeps me going. But its so rare that I thoroughly enjoy a session :(
I was tolerating Tekken 8 up until this point. This character looks fucking ridiculous in Tekken 8. Sure noctis had the same idea but he didn't have the over the top flames everywhere, dragon wings, shooting ice cubes, ice shock waves etc. I absolutely fucking hate this. I teabag and one and done every Clive player.
VF6 seems like the only chance 3d fighters got left. Here's to the hope its gonna be good. Its almost poetic that grandaddy of the genre might save it.
Very based rant. I think what's happening, is classic corporate tourist manager syndrome. A manager (or multiple managers, or sales guys) gets into a company, makes a game generate a lot of short term profits, company's stocks rise a lot, the guy gets giant salary, giant bonuses, new job opportunities, new contracts, +1 success into the portfolio, and gets out of the company. And later, the company suffers long term effects of that desicion. Like how in Tekken, a lot of people bought the game, the microtransactions are milking the casuals, but then people start leaving the game when they see that it is not improving, and the developer's focus is on something else. These guys leave negative reviews, or at least recommending friends not to play it, the community rapidly dies, and is disstiled only to people who learn frame data, nobody comes back for a new lackluster patch. And then the investors find out that the DLC sales are really bad, and they fire Harada and publically shame him, so that he could not get another job in the industry.
Theres a split in the community which was observable with clive... rhe people who want martial arts and balanced with cool effects sure but observable animations and then the people who think tekken is just fantasy bullshit and crazy effects.. which is great because i love fighting games.. and this will help the new VF! Tekken is huge and will survive either way, but this upset i feel will give VF a chance in the market, which is good for everybody :D
TK was always about the crazy and dramatic story, the fantasy elements, wacky powers like lasers, humor like using animal fighters, cool characters, etc. Ok, it really got more over the top in the last 2 games, but it's still just a progression from essential elements that are around since the beginning. While VF was always about a realistic martial arts tournament, bland presentation, little to no story and characterization, basic characters designs overall, etc. That style even made it look like the "boring" fg among the 4 major 3d franchises.

I've peeped the shill vibes as well. Trying to tell myself that he's mellowed out since T6 salt but it's just exceedingly clear that he benefits from the relationship he has with the devs via early access for stuff, so it's in his best interest to not be critical of the game.
I've noticed how the liars are huddling closer and more tightly, ignoring ALL negative (factual) comments. I hope they DO like this mess, I really do. But they look like they're gonna cry if I say a word. I can't pretend to like what has happened to my favourite franchise. Even if I got paid to, I just can't pretend like they do.
Hoping vf6 becomes a healthy, fun alternative. Problem i think is there is no competition for 3d fighters and it shows. Fanbase for tekken is too loyal and getting punished for it. They are limit testing how far they can go in terms of bad net infrastructure, bad balance, crashes and rank plugs, cuz they dont have to fix it. Harada is a master gaslighter. I think theyll start cracking down on these issues as vf 6 is closer to release. When they absolutely have too. For now, all focus is on battle passes.
I'm unironically starting to feel like Frame does about the game. I keep hoping for better balancing and less added bullshit, but thats not what we are seeing happen.
Yea unfortunately the game is going in a terrible direction imo , looks like every char is a stance/casino character , forced 50/50 situations all over the place . I'll try the new VF when it comes out but my expectations are super low , they prolly gonna make it braindead for new audiences too lol
According to interviews the higher ups at SEGA are mostly REAL honest to god VF fans from the arcade days. I think it'll be like VF5 with maybe one additional mechanic to push aggressiveness, but given aggressiveness is already super pushed in VF (backdash can get counter hit, you cant fuzzy at heavy - frames, throws are true mix ups, etc) I think it will fit in just fine.
My childhood nostalgia made Tekken 7 the 1st fighting game Ive EVER learned to play. It reinvigorated my joy for gaming. After only 2 short years, Im no longer allowed to express my enjoyment of the game. I love the intellectual property, but despise this game.
I never once uninstalled Tekken 7 all the years I had it, even bought another copy when my first disc was lost in a house fire. I uninstalled Tekken 8 the day Clive dropped and I don't think I'll be back for a while.
Fight Clive haz been rough like what is this!? I've been aiming for tekken god, made it to tekken king, then the patch dropped and something has just been different it's not making sense
I got that same error so many times in the beginning. I've not played since, just practised. So safe to say it's not resolved yet. I went through their Customer Service and submitted information and crash dump etc. Polaris Fatal Error
I'm so glad we still have people like you in the community who are honest and criticise the game for how bad it is. The big channels have all been compromised. Either they have a direct working relationship with Bamco and they don't want to upset the applecart. Or they stand to benefit financially from this dogshit of a game by the views they get. I have not played this game in months, nor does it interest me to watch pro players play the game like I used to in Tekken 7. And these big channels want to act like this is the best Tekken game ever made. They have lost the trust of the core fanbase as they are compromised shills. And I heard that we have to wait another four months for the big balance patch to come out when Season 2 drops.
Yeah, also when everyone was criticizing the storytelling about Heihachi, all he said was "it's hard to write a story to a 30-years franchise". It has no connection with the last two games, that tweet looked like a self saving from a bamco bosses or who is paying him...
Im finding all of the discourse of tekken 8 supremely interesting. I think they're in such a position that they cant satisfy everyone at the same time at this point, which is obvious, but this time it feels like if they go in one direction they're gonna lose a ton of the audience either way. Like a true coin-flip 50/50, i think tekken is gonna soar and go above and beyond as a series or its gonna crash and burn at the peak of the series' popularity. This is for the history books type shi.
tekken already Did crash and burn. 46k peak during first few months. down to 5k monthly average. its Done dude. and Namco and Shill content creators Killed it.
@@DaggerPrince Yep. All we need is for steam/sony/namco or anyone to officially pull the plug and get rid of the online servers too. I'd rather have no tekken than tekken 8
lets make it short and easy: people keep saying that Alisa is super strong and super OP, which is kinda true yeah, her chainsaw stance is broken. but then we get Clive, who is twice or three times as strong as Alisa, without a chainsaw stance, with alot more tools etc. suddenly though, Clive is alright, and cool and badass, but Alisa is for scrubs ... most players lost all of their credibility for me, after Clive dropped. it's beyond sad.
See for most of these "pro" players and streamers a character's scrubbiness is based on how they look not how they play or what gameplay tools they have. If the character looks like they would appeal to a teenage girl, that means they're scrubby, if they look like they would appeal to a teenage boy then that means they're not scrubby. So for them, Alisa/Xiaoyu = scrubby, Clive/Victor = not scrubby. I noticed this hypocrisy years ago.
Well said. The way tekken fans have been coping since clive came out is embarassing. This was a horrible choice for a guest character and clive does not belong in a tekken game. In before "but what about muh bears, angels, devils and boxing kangaroos". This comminity has become a massive joke. Im glad i went back to street fighter 6. Cant wait for vf6 and city of the wolves.
"Pros and content boys" has literal description of TMM. I liked him a lot in TTT2-T7 days when he was saying what was on his mind. Nowadays it's just tekken glazing and being "hyped" at every single dlc character. I GUARANTEE he would cringe of Clive would be in T7 but now, when TMM is in bandai promo vids, he's saying that everyone and everything looks good. I understand why he does this but I lost all respect to the guy and just sometimes cringe when see him in some compilations
I heard that it's actually even worse than that: plugging in a player match - including on the loading screen - will actually STILL see the victim paying the disconnection tax out of their character's ranked points.
The only thing worse then Tekken 8 is the Tekken community. I honestly can not stand the community anymore, it has become so terrible. I do not like heat, no movement, Get out of neutral free buttons. Tekken 8 is a bad game for someone that wants a challenging competitive game they can learn and grow in. Tekken has just become a game where you can smash your face into the controller and have a good time. I mean that's fine, but that is not why I liked Tekken. Oh well, I do not see Bamco listening to anyone anytime soon.
The game hasn’t even been around for a year. If this were any other Tekken, we’d only be approaching it’s second year in arcades. A console version wouldn’t arrive until 2025/26. If you can’t deal with facing a couple overpowered characters every now and then, just stop playing and come back for season 2’s balance update.
@@muby102prowess matchmaking isn’t that big of a deal. I’d much rather be fighting a Tekken King-TGPs blue-rank character than a Tekken noob’s blue-rank character. Have you ever fought someone with 50-100k less prowess? It doesn’t even feel fair. That’s why I’d rather beat up on people near my skill level than smash people who barely managed to promote their main to the same rank as my tertiary character.
It’s crazy when The Call of Duty community feels more organic than Tekken when COD does scummy stuff like hiring AI to do art of 6 finger zombies or using AI to replace voice actors people report it and people leave. But Tekken fans will suck the soul off of Bandai Scamco no matter what they do. Bandai could re sell the entire DLC season of Tekken 7 season 2 , fire all the voice actors and replace them with AI and the Tekken community will let Harada and Bandai bend them over and go to town.
It's because of investment, COD doesn't have a skill ceiling as high as Tekken, if you want to play even at a mediocre level, you have (or at least HAD) to put some real fucking dedication into the game; a lot of people find it hard to let the franchise go, because that would be throwing years of dedication to the trash can.
@@kenosiarthat and Black Ops 6 is being reported to have skill based damage where people with higher levels need to hit more shots to kill people who are lower levels. lmao whats the problem with game devs using AI? i never understood you bootlickers. "my favorite voice actor who makes 500 times more money than me for talking into a mic cried on twitter cuz now some video game he had nothing to do with is using AI, so now i have to hate on AI :(( protect m'rich voice actors!" lmao AI is awesome, if companies wanna use it, let em. it opens the door to so many possibilities - in The Finals the AI can read out player usernames. something you can never ever achieve with a voice actor. youre being Grifted on, dude. voice actors are just looking out for their own rich privildged interests. they have zero care about the games or the developers or the players. AI is the future, you best start getting used to it and stop letting actors grift off of you. AI also allows indie developers to have voice acting in their games. its great. what the Hell is "scummy" about any of that? youre getting played so hard by these spoiled celebrities its dactually incomprehensible to a healthy mind.

Most Tekken players are too bad to play a fundamental game but I'm eager for January and VF6. I realized after a few minutes that VF is much better when I tried the beta. It's a game where every character is the opposite of Clive, nuff said.
Seeing Frame go through what i went with Strive is so sad (albeit the vidoes are funny). Frame its time to do what i did and move on. Tekken (and Guilty Gear) isnt coming back, its for the children now, let the kids enjoy it
Strive was the beginning of the end of fighting games. -Gutted core gameplay to favor everyone but the original audience. -Community glazers (Oh it's just as complex bro! So deep and nuanced even though the characters have less than half the moveset they previously did!) -Barebones content at release but claps all around from the glazers.
Heihachi and Lidia brought the most people to Tekken 8 compared to Eddy and Clive think about that the guest character caused less players to join then Midia.
@@smoothierip5693 Game was shit. People only liked it because it was the first one on modern consoles with serviceable netcode. If namco gives us 5DR with rollback, i assure you no one will look to the future.
This is what happens when a company tries to appeal to much to new players and not long time fans. Change is good but what they are doing is just stupid on another level
Ok, as an old school 2d and 3d fg I have some criticisms to modern fgs... But i like being fair above all, so I'll just say that it's hard for you to make sense with your reply. Because T8's launch and critic reviews were great, the playerbase stats are good, the dlc is doing well (even the Clive trailer), so it's been actually a good performance. And got the 2024 fighting goty. Just like SF6, GGST, etc. The old player have criticisms but the games are doing great, and those two are better than ever financially. Meanwhile real TK, real SF and real GG started struggling at some point. SF3 killed and buried the franchise for nine years. And GG was always very niche and obscure, and only now is growing in recognition. So how are you going to convince someone and especially the own company directors that they are doing things wrong and have to change direction? That's not easy.
The only thing that can save TEKKEN 8 is Virtua Fighter 6. If VF6 is a banger, MANY Tekken players will migrate over there, and BAMCO will HATE THAT! This is when they will start to panic and change up their mentality and business strategies. Until VF6's release though, expect Bamco to keep self-mutilating.
Unfortunately I suspect that won't happen. The people who want a grounded martial arts based game is tiny compared to the casual audience who want the flashy BS as pointed out by Framewhisper. Bamco aren't interested in listening to us because we are not the cash cow.
@@henryludvor6275 But VF is not detached from the culture of big tournaments, as it's been showing up in Evo Japan and all. It's just not as much interesting for the western community. A matter of regional preference... just like the north american community loves MvC way more than any other place, including Japan. And like KOF, especially in the arcade era, has a big following in China and Latin American and not anywhere else. And like Europe likes 3d fgs so much more than anywhere else, that it makes up for 50% of Tekken's sales. So VF just happens to not being appreciated here. I'll also say that it's naive to think that the next VF will escape the dlc trend that dominated the whole genre. No, there's just a coincidence that VF stopped getting true sequels after 2005.
How is gonna VF save Tekken? You want Tekken to copy VF? That means no more 'real tekken' games. Is that what you want? Are you even a 'Tekken' fan? Tekken and VF never been the same type of 3d fighter, even at their respective popular iterations compared to each other.
If the base game was offering actual meat instead of posh salad i wouldn't mind that much. Instead its as he says Older items that used to be free get recycled and sold to the new pay pigs i was expecting this direction but I thought we would get a very juicy base game and then the new extras, newly designed. Instead base content is lacking and the core gameplay system is a casino in a can. Seeing how depressed some of the tournament players look... By this point T7 had major hype moments. I remember the Kasumi tiger upper cuts that soiled the Aris diaper. no one is hype about watching these canned animations getting thrown at each other. Lets see how many of the new players they picked up with the presentation of the game stick around.
I had no idea that Bamco had figured out a way to make the matchmaking experience worse - I thought having Tekken Prowess be a matchmaking factor was bad enough because it made 30-second downtime turn into 5-minute downtime.
I played Virtua fighter 5 with a bunch of Tekken veterans that gave up the game. Games really good and a breathe fresh air. Vurtua Fighter 6 will be amazing.
I just want my Tekken 5: DR port for modern systems. Please Namco, after that you can add any character to Tekken 8 you like; Scooby-Doo, Homer Simpson, Goofy, Peter Griffin, Dante from the Devil May Cry series, I don't care. You can start charging people for every move they perform in a match; $0.25 for a 10-frame jab, $0.50 for a tracking kick, $1 for a launcher, $5 for a 10-hit combo, I don't care. Just let me sleep in the warm embrace of Tekken 5 and pretend it's 2005 again.
They will never do it. There was a huge hole after T7 s3 that they could have filled with one of these releases. Even saved tag 2s bad sales with a pc release and a rage balancing patch. But they will rather flush the old games than have them become competition for their current cash cow.
The amount of large creators that just blatantly refuse to say anything negative about the game is filthy. I don’t know if it’s for monetary gain or to “not scare away new players” but it’s so disingenuous.
Gotta watch the right people. To be honest, everybody is gonna migrate to Virtua Fighter for the real mechanics and skill development. GoDs that CANNOT EVEN POKE is UNACCEPTABLE.

Thanks for your opinion, feels like Tekken is more of a business brand now and not a passion fighting game anymore, previously it wasn't as big because fighting games are a niche genre, but now that it's almost mainstream Namco is trying to milk it for all its worth. It started with Tekken 7 suddenly getting popular, which meant more season passes and updates, and on one hand that's great that it's getting content, but on the other it's been going downhill from that moment. I bought ultimate edition at the start, and later down the line, to my surprise it only included season 1 and not all upcoming season passes, unlike lets say Dying Light 2, which was a meh game but the ultimate edition there granted you all DLCs in the future. Guilty Gear Strive and all other fighting games do the same thing Namco pulled off, so it's pretty much a trend of milking players and trying to make it into a live service type of game.
Am I the only person who thinks Tekken started going downhill back in 6? Like the bounds system, and the subsequent follow ups in 7 and now meters in 8. I can't stand how long the combos are getting with each iteration. It feels like they've been trying to turn this into a typical 2d 99 hit combo mess.
I actually hated Tekken 6 when I first played it, I stepped away from the series for a good few years after that game. I got sick of feeling like a beach ball.
Exactly bro!! I done use any of these chars. I'll be eager to see if tekken releases another one after steam dropped their new rule about season passes (if a game offers a season pass they must release all content related to the pass, give dates, andninform steam if their is a delay in the release).

Dude, you hit the point on the head with this video and sums up my frustration with the game. The amount of defenders for this game and Clive had made me so done with the new and dumber players in this community that I think are doing more harm to the game by not allowing criticism that I'm better off playing other games and let this game burn away in the background. I've been a fan of this series since Tekken 4, played seriously since T7, and this game definitely made me want to give up on playing. Feels like they went too much in the extreme of trying to cater to spectators and causals that its not working out. And the balancing support has been a joke with how long we have to wait for a proper balance patch.
I feel dirty typing this but I actually quite like Clive. I agree with you on the management/technical side though, that patch is a disgrace and the silence from other Tekken content creators is deafening. I like how they hyped it up like they'd fixed the plugging issue, bravo Namco LOL. They couldn't organise a piss-up at a wedding. And the monetisation is still awful, the new battlepass sucks. Zero incentive to buy a bunch of recycled cosmetics.
Shocking video for a VF player like me. I thought Tekken was supposed to be good lmao, what happened? This guy is based, if you even give VF6 a try I will sub! I'm just not into Tekken's style, unfortunately.
I am with you I quit about 2 or 3 months ago granblue rising was what I did to bridge the gap as I was quitting and I am full out now. It is just sad to see I miss playing alisa sometimes but it just isn't worth it.
Man I remember when Tekken had it's own identity, and didn't need these flashy anime shit characters. The way I see it, T1-T4 was when the series was grounded, yeah you had the bears and Ogres and whatnot but it didn't deviate from the aesthetic of the franchise. T5 is when the silliness started to take over, Paul went from being the main rival for Kazuya in the previous games to nothing more than the butt joke of the series, also Jin went full emo, but even then T5 was still a solid game that looked really good and had crazy amount of content. T5DR will always be peak Tekken in terms of gameplay. T6 is when the series went in a complete different direction, in my opinion for the worse, Lars/Alisa were and still are a mistake, the devs turned the anime dial to 110%, I remember seeing Lars for the first time and couldn't figure out what the fuck was going on, not only did the character not belong in Tekken from a design point of view, but he was all over the place, it still doesn't make sense to me, top of that Lars ridiculous inclusion that he's a Mishima, so bizarre.
TK was never grounded. The only grounded 3d fg is VF. It looks like you are trying too hard to protect that early part of the franchise... and that feeling is ok, but it won't work to use in a real argument. Since T1-3 The game has demons with laser beams, monsters that breath fire, multiple animal fighters, cyborg fighters, the "Kings" never speaking a word, Gon (dinosaur guest character), and a goofy type of humor in the presentation and some endings. It became more anime than before, yes, but all those elements already existed since the beginning. Harada used the new technology in every generation to push the franchise to that direction, notably after T5. But it's false that it only started there.
@@carlosaugusto9821 But we still got some new grounded characters. Polish Karate fighter, Black Wing Chun master, German kid using Baji Quan etc. Even Eddy is now using real capoeira instead of the goofy helicopter shit.
Thank you for talking about this. The current state of Tekken 8 has made me completely apathetic. But i think what makes me actually angry are the large portion of content creators in the FGC (You know who they are) continuing to shill the game and avoiding talking about any issues whatsoever or heavily downplaying the issues. Most content creators should absolutely not be trusted. Especially if theyve appeared in promotional material for the game. Theyre 1000% in the pocket of bandai namco. And especially be wary of the heavy amounts of astroturfing going on. All these people talking about how they're going to buy Tekken 8 now because of Clive despite the numbers being absolutely dismal for a DLC character. All these people very suddenly coming out in defense for the game on youtube, reddit and other online platforms. It's incredibly suspect. As far as the game goes however, it will never get better. It is what it is. Just looking at the trailer of season 2 and seeing theyre adding in more move bloat and extremely basic features that these clown emoji influencers are pogging over and at that point, i knew it was over. Its going to the point that the game looking good doesnt even do anything for me. But hey, maybe VF6 will be good. Hell, I'll even take a DOA revival at this point.
I think having already seen it happen with GG's modern gameplay in Strive makes me a little more numb to it, but there's something deeply sad about it. Dissenting voices are [often aggressively, particularly by the newer fanbase,] forced out, ridiculed, and looked down upon even while trying to just vent frustrations or give criticism in good faith as long-time players. I've felt for quite a long time that there's been this weird collective gaslighting that takes place from big name content creators in the fgc, and it sort of just continues to happen. It's like the very notion that people who have an obvious vested interest in the continued success of these games might be biased or fence ride is seen as toxic. It's always felt very bizarre to me that nobody has really called it out or talked about it openly, at least in good faith. I just figured I was being an aging, grumpy hater.
I think we're at the point where the only hope for the "Middle of the Pyramid" is a HD re-release of T5/6, and thats either straight up not gonna happen or is really far away. Tekken 8 has made too much money.
Considering I asked that habitual lying 'fellow :)' Harada about it back in the start of 2021, and he said "we're too busy", I'd say yeah, it's not happening at all. Can only be hopelessly optimistic for so long. Instead of porting already existing xbox versions (T6/TTT2) to PC, they're making ugly ass shoes and sunglasses and wasting the 30 year anniversary with... Tekken liquor bottles...
This really annoys me. Why is it we can play just about any Street Fighter or King of Fighters game online officially on modern systems (or through FightCade unofficially) but Namco can't even give us a re-release of Tekken 5: DR or Tekken 6? It's shameful.
I can't wait for VF6, the return of the King, I just bought VF5 REVO on steam and even tho the game is old everything looks so clean, the characters, the gameplay, no dumb screen effects, no dumb mechanics, no character is overly edgy and cringe.... there's just a honesty about it
Patch buffed Bryan 5 hit string where you were able to SS the last hit but you can't anymore you have to power crush. Season 2 they showed more mixup abilities with new moves, the double down is real. I finally had enough and uninstalled the game. Leaving when my tournament momentum was rising (Top 8 LCQ last year) was a bitch but I have better shit to do then sit with a game that give no damn about the comp scene or understand how competitive work. This is kohei Ikeda game.
i have also completely given up playing this game where the sole reason as to why I was playing was sunken cost fallacy. Being as competitive as you I wouldn't have been able to quit, respect
@AndreiG-tf7fn I did not imagine I would drop Tekken competitive going into T8 at all but life can throw curve balls to were Tekken can be made complete shit. I'm not supporting whatever this Tekken is and I hope Harada put his foot down and make a decent Tekken game.
The reason i havent been vocal on your videos and sharing in your sentiment is because as soon as i saw nina shoot someone with pistols and the heat mechanics i just went "welp my favorite series is dead forever i guess" tekken 7 season 2 was the last great state of tekken
Do we put our faith into virtua fighter? I think supporting the game is in the best interest of us legacy tekken players as tekken needs some competition to maybe force them to fix their fighting game
But some aspects of the game are only a problem for you, not for them, so they don't see what to fix. Just boycott or supporting the rival game without precise feedback won't help.

Legitimately hope Virtua Fighter KILLS this game and makes it completely irrelevant. I don't think i've had so much vitriolic hatred for a game in a long time. Worst fighting game in the 21st century, responsible for the destruction of an entire community of gaming, predatory dlc to make sure customers get scammed out of worthless battle passes, a developer that is completely out of touch with both its workers and its community. There's really NO reason to play this game now that VF is on the horizon. I hope this game fails and season 2 gets cancelled. I hope TWT flops and doesn't happen, I hope EVO, Combo Breaker, CEO, Gamers8 and all other majors start excluding this filth from their game lineups, and I hope this game gets the concord treatment and pulled from the market. NO TEKKEN is better than Tekken 8.
Not so funny when Namco is now getting the short end of the stick when it comes to fighting games. Maybe they'll try and beg for Arc Sissy Slops to make another mediocre anime tag fighter.

I have to be honest Frame, I used to think you were blowing things out of proportion and hating for the sake of it. I also was disappointed during the many slip ups of T8, but now I have to apologise. I'm not disappointed anymore, I'm disillusioned. Tekken is going in a direction that just isn't for me. It strays away from what made it great, while shoving mictrotransactions, collaborations, merchandise and whatever else they can think of in their playerbase's faces. I'm excited for VF6 now, a game that can benefit greatly from analyzing what went wrong with T8.

I was shocked to see TMM reacting positively to characters like Clive & Victor, knowing that he used to always heavily favour the more grounded martial art based characters…. That’s the whole reason I used to watch TMM….
For those of us veterans in the middle of the pyramid it just feels like we’re constantly being robbed for actually trying to master a skill..

Don’t disrespect your uncle like that 😁

Tekken 8's consistency with "trying to fix a problem only to screw it up even worse" seriously needs to be studied.
Its very nice to witness this interesting social experiment real time: how much torture can a group of dedicated people take before they have had enough. So far it looks like limits are pretty wild.

Exactly. And up until tekken 6 or tekken 7 yoshimitsu did not use his sword as much. Tekken fans have lost the plot
Also people have complained about Yoshimitsu being a pain in the ass to lab against for decades.
you're not the only one, Frame. Ppl are just so tired of this BS, that they finally tap into their backlog of older games.
My biggest confusion is that some Clive fans were genuinely against Tifa because she's "too basic" or "just another punch and kick girl"??? Her style is still grounded in martial arts, she nade sense! Not everyone wanted her for appearance reasons 😭

According to interviews the higher ups at SEGA are mostly REAL honest to god VF fans from the arcade days. it's beyond sad.
Don't worry I hate Clive and alisa
See for most of these "pro" players and streamers a character's scrubbiness is based on how they look not how they play or what gameplay tools they have. If the character looks like they would appeal to a teenage girl, that means they're scrubby, if they look like they would appeal to a teenage boy then that means they're not scrubby. So for them, Alisa/Xiaoyu = scrubby, Clive/Victor = not scrubby. I noticed this hypocrisy years ago.

What are your biggest issues with the game. One of mine is the prowess matchmaking
Why? This is just the beginning of T8.

If VF6 is a banger, MANY Tekken players will migrate over there, and BAMCO will HATE THAT! This is when they will start to panic and change up their mentality and business strategies. Until VF6's release though, expect Bamco to keep self-mutilating.
I don't want Virtua Fighter to save tekken. I want virtua fighter to destroy it. No more esports, no more sponsors, no more support.
Unfortunately I suspect that won't happen. The people who want a grounded martial arts based game is tiny compared to the casual audience who want the flashy BS as pointed out by Framewhisper. Bamco aren't interested in listening to us because we are not the cash cow.
Virtua fighter gonna teach a thing or two again to Tekken empty copycat devs.
Instead its as he says
Older items that used to be free get recycled and sold to the new pay pigs
i was expecting this direction but I thought we would get a very juicy base game and then the new extras, newly designed.
TMM's face might as well be at the top of that pyramid 😂
and ShillDX.
You can play T6 PSP on PS5 🤣🤣🤣
The amount of large creators that just blatantly refuse to say anything negative about the game is filthy. I don’t know if it’s for monetary gain or to “not scare away new players” but it’s so disingenuous.
Everything’s for a dollar don’t think otherwise my friend 😂👍🏾
They're nothing but shills who don't wanna upset daddy Harada
Gotta watch the right people. To be honest, everybody is gonna migrate to Virtua Fighter for the real mechanics and skill development. GoDs that CANNOT EVEN POKE is UNACCEPTABLE.
Well, there's only 2 of em, tmm for europe and phidx for america. And they're in namco's pocket.
@ There's Lil Majin, Anakin, Brawlpro, K-Wiss, Lmg Mob, Madara521, Framewhisperer, Fightinggm, CBM, JDCR, Knee, Tendo, Ayoritchie, RIP/LUYG, Spag, Fergus, Sephiblack, Mrsplaystuff and about at LEAST 100 more, so NO - YOU ARE WRONG. And MOST of them agree that Tekken 8 is fukked up.
haven't bought a single dlc for t7, haven't bought t8, best decision of my life
Then what are you doing here?
@liu3chan watching this shitshow with a pack of pop corns
That pyramid is the fgc as a whole imo. SF6 has the same problem, everyone wants to shill for their pockets.
You are the messiah. Ive been saying for a long time that positive toxicity is destroying this game😢
Aris got sponsored for clive, he hated every second of it... It was so funny
honestly one of his best sponsored segments ever
we must all redirect our hopes and dreams to VF6
Am I the only person who thinks Tekken started going downhill back in 6? Like the bounds system, and the subsequent follow ups in 7 and now meters in 8. I can't stand how long the combos are getting with each iteration. It feels like they've been trying to turn this into a typical 2d 99 hit combo mess.
I actually hated Tekken 6 when I first played it, I stepped away from the series for a good few years after that game. I got sick of feeling like a beach ball.
Rage was a big problem back in the day. Its just been dwarfed by rage Arts, rage drives, power crushes, heat and even more wacky mechanics.
I think you and me are in the same camp
I honestly think T6 was the main reason why tag 2 sold so badly.
I was waiting for this man to shit on clive and the state of tekken 8
Man I wish I could refund the "season 1" pass, this shit is worth less than poe2 stash slots I would have bought with the money instead
Exactly bro!! I done use any of these chars. I'll be eager to see if tekken releases another one after steam dropped their new rule about season passes (if a game offers a season pass they must release all content related to the pass, give dates, andninform steam if their is a delay in the release).
At least Poe2 stash slots make your life easier, while tekken season passes are just shit
The way tekken fans have been coping since clive came out is embarassing. This was a horrible choice for a guest character and clive does not belong in a tekken game. In before "but what about muh bears, angels, devils and boxing kangaroos". This community has become a massive joke. Im glad i went back to street fighter 6. Cant wait for vf6 and city of the wolves
Dropped tekken for like 2 months. Only play a couple of games a day for battle pass. Can't stand how dumb the gameplay currently is, and how annoying the cheaters are.
okay so how are we xbox owners supposed to be excited over a character that is only in a playstation exclusive game??? am i the only one who thought this? I myself play on xbox and feel a little pissed. i haven't seen one youtuber at least mention it as a joke. could they not atleast add a neutral character MAD SELFISH
Feels bad man, xboxgangers will prevail!
Same with PC players. Haven't owned a playstation since PS3 lol.
@@UmbrellaSound worse dlc character ever...on xbox marketplace it's still yet to have a review on it, if any xbox players have even bought it at all....trash season in fact this game is just boring as hell, nothing to do.
Hallelujah on dropping this sniffle of a game, I commend you chief 👍
@11:00 I feel the same lad, feels like the community has changed so much nobody talks about these issues.
It’s a new generation, the gaming culture is not what it was .i like new ideas but not the fundamentals being lost .
@@Remorsefullyhumbleeverything is disposable to the new generation, if tekken dies theyll just hop to the next thing.
@@Ronbotnik How do we expedite this process. There's nothing more that I want for this game. It does not deserve a future.
Tekken 7 is also dogsh*t, is a 2D kusoge with no sidesteps. All of you who praise T7 never played a Tekken before.
I uninstalled T8 about 8 months ago, gave it a go yesterday, faced a Clive three times in a row, uninstalled again.
What did you expect , he just released. Anyway I quit too but I think your case is just poor timing
What is the point of the name " the iron fist tournament " if characters can use weapons ? It does not make sense .
The king of i pay to win...
the iron first-sword-axe-bat tournament. Fixed it for Heihachi.
Fist holding Iron Sword
You mean in the series with a farting dinosaur with a halved hitbox, flying robot, monster with wings and snake arm, flying devil that shoots lasers, teleporting ninjas with swords, kangaroos, Egyptian snake dancer with demonic arm and so on it's the normal handgun that crosses the line?
Not every pro is a shill. Kkokkoma is really vocal about how he doesn't like this game for example.
This was a calm rant. But you’re not wrong at all. They basically saying to us we can’t have our cake and eat it too.
Its sad to have been playing this game for a few years only to realize that they dont need PLAYERS anymore - instead they cater to PAYERS.
Shocking video for a VF player like me. I thought Tekken was supposed to be good lmao, what happened?
This guy is based, if you even give VF6 a try I will sub! I'm just not into Tekken's style, unfortunately.
It is good. That's what pisses people off so much. They have a great core but ruin it with dumb decisions.
VF is the future.
OR people just like the game
Tekken 8 has made too much money.
emulators and crank up the resolution 👍
And I guess you would want to have Tekken 7 season 2 to be released over and over instead of changing the game, huh?
Do we put our faith into virtua fighter? I think supporting the game is in the best interest of us legacy tekken players as tekken needs some competition to maybe force them to fix their fighting game
Yes good idea
But some aspects of the game are only a problem for you, not for them, so they don't see what to fix. Just boycott or supporting the rival game without precise feedback won't help.
i dont think vf6 is coming soon
It’s what I plan to do.
@@carlosaugusto9821 bamco only listen to feedback if it's going to ruin their game, you gotta speak with money they don't care about the user experience
Genuinely what planet are you people on lmao? Just because it has a store doesn't invalidate the rest of the game. How has the game destroyed an entire community of gaming? So many comments are based in nothing and are just saying emotive sentences.
@@moonwarrior3342 'Arc sissy slops' Lol. They have emasculated their male characters and I am just waiting for the 'Marisa (SF6) ' of Strive to come. Maybe they will make Jam into Jammer and just make it into a dude.
Man, you are me. 👍🏻 I was going to say exactly the same.
BASED. I love this guy.
The series isn’t about fighting anymore it’s about dumbing down the product throwing glitter on it and filling namcos pockets. Just look at all the new mechanics after t5dr, it’s just about wringing out dollars from casuals and throwing the core game to the wayside
Clive has inspired me to become a VF fan and uninstall Tekken Calibur 8. Loved the VF beta and can't wait for REVO to come out in January. Come join the good side Frame.
Kazuya Mishima is the most badass character ever created. It's almost unbelievable that such a badass character even exists
Fair enough
His hair is goofy
Tbh i think if tekken 8 was balanced in a way where not everyone has the ability to spam 50/50s, heat didnt lead into infinite plus frames and chip damage and the game overall was just more like a tekken game random newcomers like clive might be more well recieved
So glad I dropped this trash of a game months ago
its so boring now, not sure why but maybe its because i own an Xbox so Clive means jack shit to me.. you're profile pic is legendary.
5:00 People need to stop watching crap like the Game Awards if they want the industry to change (both fighting games and mediocre triple A in general)
PaidManSWE, ShillDX, J-Piss and the rest keep praising the game... Just be honest man...
