Did you complain to the reception at the Herman hotel? What did they do about the room?

We recently booked a hotel in South Pattaya online. It was advertised as a sea view room with a balcony for 1800 baht a night. When we arrived, we were told our room wasn't for the main building (with a sea view) but an annex building facing a small road and above the parking garage. We had to pay 1,000 extra for the room actually shown on the Hotel Booking Website. A total scam!
Well, that should not happen, unfortunately

The video you posted is so true....I had the same problem with hotels. ...in Bangkok ..one expensive hotel the gave me the room I booked...air conditioner did not work properly...they changed me to another room...and same problem...then another room .....very frustating. Anyhow like you said...must check the room before you accept it. Have a nice day and take care

Great information Arsen. I stayed KTK Pattaya Hotel and Residence last week. The room I booked was not available so they upgraded me into a room that was only fit for Royalty. It was amazing and one of the girls I invited back to my room gasped out ' Oh my goodness'. Yes indeed !!!!

I try to stay in the same hotel, Zing Resort & Spa in Jomtien Complex, near my favourite bars. 1,000 baht (booked at reception) ex breakfast.
If I was travelling to Thailand for the first time, I would book a maximum of 2 nights online, then either stay on there but if I didn't like the hotel would search for a better one. Pattaya is unlikely to be fully booked.

Thanks for your reports and observations. I have been to Thailand 25 times over the years, 24 to Pattaya. First trip in 1967. I will be traveling to Pattaya within the next three weeks for 2 and half weeks. Is there a hotel on the beach area in Pattaya that you would recommend. I have tried many and want to try a new hotel. I am 80 next month and have limited mobility. Thanks Gary Bingham

Isn't that the old Pattaya center Hotel or similar name before? Been there 20 years ago. Was a little bit run down at that time.

Interestingly i booked a hotel in bangsaray last month for my mom and me. The hotel looked dated and not very clean. My mom had a medical emergency and the hotel staff did everything to improve the situation including the front desk lady driving me behind the ambulance car. What looked like a ripoff or scam turned out to be the best choice 🙏
