The T in PTSD is for the THX logo
So, Post-THX Stress Disorder?
Sounds about right.

LOL
You have more likes than channel sub
I just want to watch cars again, and yes, that was in cars. Not have ptsd from freaking robot mario.
This sound always reminded me of some sort of war siren. I just found it so terrifying
Sounds like a Stuka siren
The Stuka siren used to be on Airplane in World War 2
Stuka diver bomber sounds
Memento Mori
imagine you just there and a tank with speakers appear playing this sound lmao
I actually really like it. It gives off a sense of absolute POWER emanating from my speakers.
oh
Me too. I was a gigantic fan. I used to have a THX logo made out of wood. And I had the logo in a picture frame. And I would be disappointed because it doesn’t appear in theaters anymore. My dad seen in theaters before as a kid.
@@TheAdventuresOfJimiJaden oh
@@jackwils6482 I now recently found out it still plays in theaters, only THX certified theaters and there are only 3 where I live
Same man hearing that this or the playstation 2 logo and other stuff like that was scary is absolutely mindboggling to me
“Thx” you for scaring me when I was a child.
Need 9999likes
Well played.
Saw that one coming
Haa i see what you did there
The full deep note is something you'd hear at stage 5 in Everywhere at the end of time, geez
I SWEAR IT IS
If somebody makes an EATEOT version for 2000s kids, this should be used as the sample for the H1 sirens from stage 4
Idk why but the beginning of the full deep note sounds like an army of hornets hovering over you
Life hack: Whenever you want to watch a movie on DVD with the THX logo, you can skip the logo by selecting the first scene of the movie in the scene selection screen. You have to do this every time you watch the movie in one period however, because if you just press play, the logo will appear
I always tried that, I was really smart learning that when I was little.
Here's another impressive tip to avoid THX: If you're still watching the movie or just finished it, DO NOT press stop + stop + play. Even though it will start the movie over, it will play the logo and you'll be screwed.
Could u tell 3 year old me plz
as a kid, my mom and dad had to always do that. i always missed the first few minutes of several movies because or that.
no one can save you when you lost the remote.
I would always cry when the THX logo came on right before Finding Nemo started Lol I remember my Grandma trying to calm me down
20th like
Back then, when I was little, I love the THX logo and tex, but now they give me nightmares.
To me it always triggered this weird feeling of being chased and the louder it got the closer the person chasing me was. It's inescapable and I hate it!
Or hiding and being hunted and as it gets to the climax you've been found 👀😐
You were just in a nightmare
As a 2000's kid, I was never scared by the THX logo.
I was terrified of a different logo.
The WGBH Boston Logo?
Well don't leave us hanging like that
The Pixar logo?
I was never scared of the THX logo either.
The ВИД logo with the scary Chinese death mask?
Kids who grew up in the 80's through the early 2000's, would remember this. Not only the early 2000's.
Goodbye.
And 70’s kids. It plays before the 1978 Halloween
I remember hiding behind the couch bc of this and my anxiety sky rocketting.
AUDIO HITLER LMAOOO
"Welcome to the Salty Spitoon, how tough are you?"
"I watch movies by THX."
"Yeah, so?"
"Without getting scared by the sound."
"G-Go right in!"
Me too
the THX logo sounds like it would be used as a purge siren 😭
I was never scared of the THX logo when I was little. I used to watch Toy Story every day, so I was used to it.
I feel the same way dude
Except I watched cars.
Ikr I actually never heard of people being scared of it. I understand why they would though. I used to watching movies with that logo all the time as a kid.
Do you think I should make a video of the THX logo
Same. It didn’t take long for me to get used to it. I just made sure the volume was turned down until the movie actually started because the loudness of it just made me really uncomfortable
@@Solid_Shibe2022 me too. Also, it was the version with the technical difficulties and Tex fixing it. I was familiar with it so much that I didn't mind the other ones either.
I remember finding the sound very unsettling but I never ran and hid I just kinda sat there and took it lol
Honestly I never minded the THX logo until it came out on DVD and my grandmother said it was scary. I saw the connection and began to be very afraid. That's the thing with grandmothers, you have complete empathy until it slowly kills you.
Ironically, it took people on the internet saying how it scared them to relate and later overcome my so-called fear on October 2nd, 2010. Thanks guys.
I know right
For the record, the THX logo never really scared me as a kid, the sound was etched into my brain but it wasn't really terrifying. It was just a loud noise
4:56 you knew that when you saw that little robot fly away from the overloaded THX logo, *things were getting serious*
Sh*t was boutta get real
THX = Total Horrifying eXxperience
😆👌
As a kid, I always found it terrifying because I thought it sounded like some sort of alarm.
Now looking back at it, it still sounds like an alarm but I realized the alarm it sounds like was a nuclear alarm. I didn’t know that as a kid but its just a coincidence that the alarm it sounded like happened to be the alarm that lets you know over 500 million people are about to immediately die.
this and the intro for mgm movies (the ones where THE ACTUAL FUCKING LION GROWLS) were the scariest shit when i was a kid
Oh God, the lion roaring did scare me, but I'm used to it now.
I had a dream once where the robot from thx became a killer 😨
Me too! He would always try to hurt/kill me in some sort of amusement park
I always had dreams of him pinching me with his claws and drilling into my stomach
He haunted my Dreams of my childhood...
Evil Mario
Same, I remember having a dream where the robot tried to stab me in the stomach when I was younger
I think the parody logo at the end scared me more than the actual THX sound...
I was scared of one parody of THX called KEN. Sh*ttly Mastered and something like that and then it had men reenacting the THX and that was even louder. I actually liked THX but i didn’t like that loud parody.
HOW THOUGH
This is gonna sound very weird, but a few years ago, I had anxiety that the THX logo was gonna show up on my TV screen while it was turned off or unplugged. For a while, I couldn’t have a TV in my room. I’m better now, though.
POV: you are 5 and forfeited you sleeping rights.
For me, a big part of the reason it was was scary was because it was giant bold letters in a blank screen, a phobia I have.
Also, the one with the cows, when I was a kid I didn't know they where cows, I thought it was the sound of the THX logo itself. So, when the cows where stampeding I thought it was that the THX logo was angry, and it shaking made it seem like it was coming for me, specially that last shake at the end.
i dont have ANY child memories with this sound! i only hear it in compilations or anything nowdays. I guess i was lucky
Yes you were
I clearly remember from when I was a toddler, the first time the thx logo popped up on the screen it started my reoccurring nightmares, I get them every other night to this day. And I am 20 years old.. 🤦🏼♀️lmao. I used to imagine that the sound waves would paralyze me, and It became my sleep paralysis moster for abit. Never thought that a logo that is less then 20 seconds would mentally traumatize me so much 🤦🏼♀️.
THANK GOD. I literally thought I was the only person on this floating rock through space that was scared to death of that logo and the defeaning sound as a child
call me a pshycopath, but I have never been afreaid of it
I remember having nightmares about this logo as a child.
I expecially remember this dream where i was in an empty classroom and there was this small speaker that would start blasting the logo outta nowhere as soon as i was near it.
Everytime this would happen in my dreams i would start panicking and run away trying to find a hidding spot or exit. To me as a kid, it felt so anxiety inducing like something was chasing me.
It was terrifying!
Good profile picture
Part of what bothers me about it is the slow crescendo of the sound. There's a Van Halen song called Running With the Devil. The very beginning of that song had the same effect on me as the THC ad. My parents used to play it on my dad's speakers, and I used to run out of the room screaming and petrified. To this day, the sound still bothers me.
4:22 I was like, "YES! No more THX!"
I don’t think I was that scared of this logo as a kid. Maybe mildly freaked out but not really that scared to the point of running away from it. It does bring back memories though! I would always see it when watch Monsters Inc.
I was always scared of the THX sound. It was too loud.
The shrek thx logo was originally gonna be used for the movie theater release of shrek but dreamworks and disney got into a feud with each other
I don't know if I am masochist, but I always thought the THX sound was satisfying as a kid, and even now still

The scariest thing to me personally, was when I watched a Pixar DVD at night in complete darkness and suddenly, the only thing I see is the apparition of that blue rectangle with the creepy sound building up. THAT DAMNED BLUE RECTANGLE AND SOUND HAUNTED MY YOUNGER YEARS 😱😂
For those who have the THXphobia, if you watch films, go to the select scene menu and select the first scene and don't push the play or unless the logo appears.
Really. I loved hearing the THX being blessed with noise as it glanced it self slowly out of the dark shining it’s polished letters across the screen
Sometimes I’ll turn up the volume on the living room TV to the max for a more positive result
I have the dvd for cars l, and when I watch it as a kid it scared me and surprised me. It was this animation of a robot with a cow tin makeing a moo sound and then the robot connected it to the logo and that is what scared me as a kid
Knowing I wasn't the only person terrified of that logo relieves me.
i remember hiding behind my sofa hoping THX logo would hurry up and finish so i could go back to watchin Thomas the Tank engine or whatever.
Wasn't there a Thomas VHS that had the THX logo if I remember?
I was less of a 2000's kid and more of a 2010's kid, but the THX logo still scared the shit outta me
Thank you I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this. When I was little, every time my parents watched a movie with the THX opening, I would always cover my ears.
IM NOT SCARED OF THE THX LOGO. (Note: it used to be scared of the thx logo)
You know what scared me more Then the TNX Logo?..................Diesel 10.
😊 Diesel 10 from Thomas the tank engine
I always thought the one with the storm was pretty cool when I had the digitally mastered Star Wars movies. Also the T2 and the one with the T. rex from Jurassic Park roaring scared the hell out of me
I was scared of that one but now I think it’s cool to
I had remastered Star Wars dvds
I would go somewhere where I couldn’t see the tv 📺 till it is finished but the first time I took it and tears appeared on my face
My sister was also a little spooked
But when I saw the storm logo after the first time I was kinda scared but then Thx appeared and I got scared 😱
It was just too damn loud. Especially in movie theaters.
I haven’t seen the logo in cinema but I hated cinemas for how loud they are and that would be PAIN
People who go to the cinema: Omg the THX logo is so loud!
People who go to the theatre: You call that thing loud?
As almost an 18 year old now it isn't so bad anymore , when I was 6 I used to f ing cry when I hear that thing playing on a DVD it gave me nightmares for 4-5 years straight after then it wasn't so bad anymore , thank god I am older now .
The best one was THX eclipse. Was absolutely sure that my speakers were not working properly.
Pumped the volume from 40% to 60%WHENSUDDENLYEVERYTHINGBECAMESOLOUDOHMYGOOOOOOOOOOOD!
I thought my autism made it scary for me and I was having a meltdown I didn't know it was normal
Watching this in VR will fuel so many nightmares 😂
Why did I watch this? Now I have to go to therapy again. (Pd: I was also very scared of the Playstation logo, that voice that wispers "playstation", fuck that's scary)
I actually really respect this brand from how traumatizing it is, i might buy one of their products one day, also, Tex is alright, made the logo less scary, (also, the moo can one was Monsters Inc)
The Moo Can trailer showed in multiple different editions of Pixar films besides Monsters Inc. It was also in Toy Story, Toy Story 2, and Finding Nemo. The Tex trailer played with the first 7 Pixar films on DVD except for The Incredibles, which had the logo with the ice ball shattering.
And they should've done the Shrek one for the kids 😂… because it's comedy…
Hey, did you see those creepypastas where Tex is a serial killer? The ones by Rohan are the best. Everyone else seemed to ride on his coattails and made absolutely ridiculous lost trailer pastas.
the old one with the indego boarder in a black void always creeped me out, but the ones after like... 2006? was far better

I never found it scary and I was born in 2005, I just found it cool and memorable man
The last time I got scared was in 2019 I was 6
Imagine the THX logo chasing you💀🤣🤣😞ngl it literally terrifies me
0:11 I SOOO LAUGHED 🤣🤣🤣
Your scream after the kazoo is amusing to me. Thank you for making my day slightly more entertaining.
I remember being really scared of this before I could watch movies like, toy story, monster.inc, the Incredible etc. I remember hiding behind the couch whenever it played and when it was over I would come out and sit back down. or if my brothers were watching a movie in their room I would run to my room as fast as possible and keep the door closed and stay in there! I even had nightmares about it! hell, i'm even still scared of it to this day! I still have nightmares of it sometimes!
I used to be scared of that logo while I was in my first classroom of secondary school.
Whenever my classmates got the PS2 and the games I would get ready to play with my friends, They put Lord of the Rings in the console,
But while I was excited to play the game, I then heard a loud noise, this made me go like this.
“😳”
Then the noise got louder and louder and louder until it made this very high pitched noise.
I literally screamed my kidneys out and ran into a closet.
The teacher said it was OK, So I walked out shaking and I tried to collect myself but it was too much.
FRICK YOU THX,
STOP USING THAT SOUND AT ONCE.
WHENEVER I HERE THIS GUITAR SQUEALING NOISE I SCREAM MY KIDNEYS, MY LUNGS AND HEART OUT UNTIL I GET ASTHMA.
It's the sleep paralysis national anthem... and for me the robot stopped it from being scary because it helped me find humour in something that was literally out of a nightmare.
i'm still terrified of the THX logo.
just hearing it in this video triggered my fight or flight.
i remember when i was little, when i watched anything with that logo in the intro, as soon as i saw the "Digitally mastered for superior sound and picture quality" thingy, i'd fucking bolt, because i knew that sound would come up and scare the shit out of me.
i don't know who thought "hey, we need a sound to go with our logo, what should we do?" "oh i know, lets make it an ear-raping synthesizer that's louder than everything else on the DVD, that way we can traumatize a whole generation"
like, it didn't have to be that loud and that scary.
I was never scared of the sound, but I always thought it was funny. I'd hear it a lot back in 2015. Now it brings nostalgia.
The Simpsons logo is hilarious
Lol this use to scare the shit out of me as a kid. I would always get these nightmares where the logo plays at max volume and the TV pretty much becomes a black hole.
I had the Star Wars DVDs and all of them had this. I would always go to scene selection and go to the first scene so I can skip it.
I never new how to and faced my fears
the THX logo sound is lachlan music.
not far off
RIP to everyone who had earbuds in
OMFG I WAS WEARING HEADPHONES💀
For someone on the spectrum it's the sensory overload that got to me
same im on the spectrum and it fucks me up. idk if ur british but the vue cinema intro actually SCARED ME EVEN WORSE.
1:58 RIP User headphones😆😆😆
I never thought that was scary at all but I used to find the game cube screen title scary as hell
LMAO SAME
The gamecube when you didn't have any games in was scary when I was little
When the thx logo dissapered I thought it was gonna come out of nowhere
Like BOO
I was born in 2000 and grew up around the early 2000s. I was soooooo terrified of that logo. The blue triangle is what made me jump.
if i was playing on my laptop and i randomly was on the thx logo id be running away from my laptop and cry
I remember being scared of the “amazing life” variant.
But I kinda like it now.
4:36 Dude, the THX Moo can logo scared the FUCKING SHIT out of me when I was watching Finding Nemo or Toy Story! My parents were like, "Dude, you HAVE to watch this logo!" I was like "HELL NO!" What were my parents thinking?!? That just Sounds fucked up!
And believe me, I WAS scared of this particular logo as a kid, I mean, either when the THX logo turned silver or when the cows started stampeding, we would've all RAN FOR OUR FUCKING LIVES!!!!!!
i was born in 1998 and both my little sister's are 2000s kids, and the THX never scared us at all when we were introduced to it. is this intended as a meme or something?
Grandpa Tahana And The Maori Generals & Officers VS The Evil Red Demon THX Logo.
Doom Sez: There's a THX variant for Shrek.
THX Horton variant: Am I just invisible to you!?
I think the THX intro should be the same, but more like actual music. Quiet and calm but then big and powerful!
0:24-0:27 Funny kazoo Car man! Hahahahahahaaaaaa!
I never got sacred of it as a kid, I always loved it.
I'm a late Gen Z (2008), and I used to see the THX Logo whenever i watch specific movies. However, as much as people claim that it was scary, I never got this effect. Idk, mwybe because I have balls of steel or something like that, or it wasnt loud enough to where it blast my eyes off...
I have my earphones on when you put in the YHX intro i turn the volume all the way up
This logo is the only reason the classic animated film, Over the Hedge, is considered a horror film. You thought the bear voiced by Nick Nolte was scary? Fuck that, the THX logo, that's the real villain
I gotta be honest, I'm one of the few kids who didn't find it scary as everyone think it is
I remember just booting up NFS Underground 1 on the PS2 way back when I was 5 years old and was never bothered by the THX logo and sound
I’m not JUST afraid of the sound I’m also afraid of the logo itself
The editing in this video is absolutely insane. I love it 🤣
I grew up in the 2010’s yet was still terrified by the logo on our cars dvd. It was one of the reasons I never watched cars as a pre teen, the other two reasons are the frank chase scene and the mcqueen loosing mac scene. I was very easily scared back then.
It sounds like artillery sirens
LETS GOOOOOOOOO
FYI there’s a 3rd “Tex” opening where it’s basically and add for BMW
