I think it was a missed opportunity by Razer to not make it 20-30 dollars cheaper than the g pro wireless. I think a lot more people would shoot for it if it was. That being said though i love my GPW with hyperglides and I probably wouldnt switch.
still using the mouse 2 years later. Worth the $150.. slight wear on the rubber sides due to 10+ hours of daily usage for both work and gaming, dropped more than 7 times to the porcelain floor, still crisp clicks, charging functions are superb.
@@CoasterCoat no difference from Day 1. My usage is very rough, I use it for my daily work 8 hours, and then use it for gaming everyday which is around 4-5 hours more on top of that, not to mention weekends. I only need to charge after around 2 days, and that's only when I was too lazy to put it on dock during lunchtime at work.
I actually have this mouse & i must say i absolutely LOVE it. From the shape/feel, the grips on the sides, battery life, & how smooth the glide feels. I still switch between my G Pro Wireless & SteelSeries Sensei Ten every now & then but the Viper is prolly my favorite right now. P.S Also its hella light weight for a wireless mouse.
@@felipek01 Very hard to press, would not recommend it if you will be using it a lot. The mouse it self is very good, the shape fits my hand perfectly, it's lightweight and feels very premium.
Tempest7 thanks for the feedback. The side buttons are really crucial for me. But choosing a mouse as a lefthanded is no easy task. Have you ever tried the Zowie FK1?
If anyone's looking to buy this mouse now - I will give a quick update after about a year of having it. It's cosmetic condition has held up almost perfectly, a few minor scratches on the front side, but I believe that was my fault not the mouse wear and tear. Sensor, perfectly held up - sometimes a hair or some dust gets in there, but easily fixable and back to brand new again. Buttons/Wheel - All still responding perfectly, scroll wheel hasn't become sticky whatsoever, overall as responsive as the day I bought it. No double clicking as of yet, which I know was an issue for some users. Mouse feet - Again nothing to complain about, they have held up really well, not had to replace yet so I'm happy, what more can I ask for. Still smooth too. My complaints about the mouse: If you are using RGB on the mouse itself, it's battery life is cut by over 50%, so I have found myself just completely turning it off at this point. Having said that, the battery life without the RGB is easily 50+ hours of usage, even to this day a year on. Charging dock: The pins on the dock gather dust incredibly easily. As well as the pin holes on the bottom of the mouse. This stops the mouse charging and can be a pain to clean properly. This I think is a design flaw as I can not go more than 2-3 days without having to re-clean the pins on both the charging dock and mouse. It's not a major issue as it doesn't effect performance, just a quality of life thing. Lastly, the USB cable port: I know this is a wireless mouse, and you shouldn't need it, however I have found it frustrating when I have forgotten to charge the mouse overnight and I need to charge it while I use it. This is pretty much impossible, as I'm yet to find a Micro USB cable that will actually fit the gap. There is literally no space to fit your standard USB cable on the mouse, this is the only major design flaw I can point out. Other than those things, which again don't really effect performance and are just quality of life issues, the mouse is fantastic. It's lightweight, very responsive, in fact I would say more responsive than my previous Zowie FK1, and a wireless mouse was the best upgrade I ever made gaming wise.
@@elia9427 Had the mouse for about 7 or so months, no issues with the side buttons and I tend to gorilla grip the mouse sometimes while gaming. Pleasantly surprised since my way older razer mice had the same issues (but I have the RVU with the more recent V2 buttons and switches, the v1s are garbage but that was early production models.)

This mouse is awesome, feel a little faster than the gpw and a little more precise. Definitely worth it. The only problems I've had is that the grips suck it much better to replace them with lizard skin and the charging cable hole sucks to because it's way too small for regular cables.
Whew, it's been a HOT MINUTE since I've looked to Razer for a main peripheral, soooooooo excited for this! As soon as I tried the viper in August, I returned it. Not because I didn't like it, but because I loved it and knew the instant my hand touched it that they were going to make a wireless version. No idea it would be this soon though!
hypershift is a pretty awesome idea, pretty much doubles the number of inputs you can have on the mouse. I like several buttons on my mouse but I also want the ultralight experience.
@@CuteTransGirlxD For a lot of FPS's that have a lot of keybinds. For example Battlefield, the side buttons I use for crouch and prone. Also this functionality has really upped my game in Apex, I have a lot of the hypershift buttons bound to activating bats and med kits, no need to use select from the inventory wheel.
I'm switching to from G502 as well. It was a great mouse, but the damn thing started to fail on me after only a year of use. The left click stutters and prevents me from doing things like highlight words or shooting. I'll hold the left click in game and I may shoot like one bullet and it doesn't do anything, or It'll shoot twice, pause, shoot once, pause, shoot 4 times, etc. or it will work fine. Its so consistently inconsistent that I have no choice but to upgrade. Hopefully the Viper Ultimate treats me well.

You're saying that oh its micro usb and it has no reason to be usb-c because it didn't need to be there, but they put it there anyway, so why not have a usb-c port for it, it would give it a more premium look from that angle as well as fast charging for wired. If razer puts it there, might as well go all out with it
have just seen you newer video reviewing the Razer Basilisk , which one would you say is better ? I need to buy a new mouse! thanks for you great videos !
I bought the cyberpunk version. Its sitting on my collection shelf. The only thing I dont like is how low it is. Im used to the Steelseries Sensei 310 and going from that, to the Viper, its a big change. Different DPI measures (Steelseries uses CPI), the weight, and the form factor. Then there is the Razer software. But homie already touched on that one for me. All in all, if my 310 breaks down, I have the perfect backup ;)
Honestly, with how much Logitech have been refreshing their pro lineup recently, I'd give it a month or two before we see a g pro x wireless gaming mouse that blows this out of the water.
Had the Superlight for the last 9months plus id say, loved the feel and fit in my hand as I have a Large hand and use a logitech m570 roller ball (Used roller balls for the last 20+ years) at work and previously used a glorious Model D for the high hump and similar angle to fit deep in the palm of my hand. Model D was a decent mouse, but hated it being wired and the drag of the cable so maybe might like the Model D wireless but got a stellar deal on a used Superlight so tried that. Superlight was leaps and bounds better then a WIRED Model D, but idk why; the superlight seemed to lag or miss my movements sometimes due to liftoff since you cant change it and software was up to date and I use a thicker/slower mousepad. Response to all of this, I recently got a deal for $50 from Amazon on a Razer Viper Ultimate; the price was ridiculous for me not to throw my money at it and I received it yesterday (1 day shipping nowadays is amazing but still screw you Bezos). I took it out of box and plugged in and raided that night on World of Warcraft like the competitive parsing sweatball nerd that I am. I was so surprised how quickly I conformed to the mouse, a more shallow shape then the Superlight that I still prefer for now, but the feeling of mice clicks and responsiveness was what I felt like I was missing. In WoW you turn with your mice unless you're a bad kid and rarely click things but when I did, I knew exactly where the mouse was and rotating with the mice was perfect. So in conclusion, try that Viper Ultimate especially with a discount. If I knew how much I liked it, I would've bought it instead of the Superlight 9 months ago; also Razer really is just a super loud brand which always puts me off but they do put out solid products that I know will last me 3+ years which is forever with how much shit I put them through
I honestly love the mouse, but there is one thing that just makes me not buy it. The rubber pads on the sides, I hate that shit. Makes my hands more weird feeling and slippery. That's why I got the Logitech GPW. No rubber pads. The dock on the Viper is dope af tho.
Hey Randomfrankp , I hope you respond to this. Recently I bought a Razer Viper Ultimate, but the right click feels a bit mushy(like there is some pre-travel time), so I got it exchanged and still does it. Does yours does the same or did I get unlucky twice? Is it just a thing of adapting to the new switches?
Thanks for the in depth review @randomfrankp. Just got the Cyberpunk 2077 version last week and I'm loving this mouse. Do you have any recommendations button layout for a new FPS gamer that just started using this? Asking for a friend.
Ohh, I want to buy that one aswell!!!U might can (if you want) answer a few questions I have :). 1. Aren't the 2 side-buttons on the right side anoying? If not, are they easy to use if you use 'm? 2. Do you sometimes make accidently clicks when your fingers are resting on the mouse? 3. Does this mouse feel better in your hands than any other mouse you have used before? Thanks :)
@@Quazer._ The 2 side button on both side are not annoying at all and I need feel them. They are so easy to use that I mapped them for Reload, Crouch, and jump on COD. Yes it feels amazing to use. This the 3rd mouse I've bought in 6 months. The others being the Endgear XM1 RGB and G wolves SK-S Ace Edition
@@Quazer._ Also not one have i had a misfire with hand resting on it. The top buttons are cool cause your fingers will rest on the back end of the button perfectly from palm to first knuckle and even with front of finger resting on trigger I don't have single misfire
My mum doesn't understand why you need a brand name item to make it good and after 2 months I got the Viper! I was so happy. But 1 week later Razer released the Viper Ultimate!
Still, don't understand why I would take this over Logitech. I get a charging pad, so don't have to ever worry about charging, and what, 5-6 different mice that work with it? No synapse also, bonus on its own.

does rechargeable mouse battery life go down over time just like a phone's battery holds less charge after you've had it for some time?
Yes, it does. sorry I am 10 months late.
you earn a like just for that morrowind guide. love that book and game
The best use for the charger other than charging
Is using it as a mouse bungee
how? i have it and u cant really use it as a bungee unless you tape the cord
13 other idiots liked your message without even checking if this works. Which is doesn’t. Lmao
Broccoli Boy These 13 “idiots” realize it’s a joke cuz it’s a mouse meant to be used wirelessly
is this a safe option cause am skeptical about razer product or should i buy a G PRO wireless
I love how it seems like Razer is tryna hook us up with hyperglide-level mouse feet right out of the box. props
For me, the slick mouse feet on my mamba wireless get scratched up really easily bc I dont use a mousepad
PewDie Pie is the mamba wireless good?
@@zzz-ze3xt yea
PewDie Pie thinkin to buy mamba elite
You can actually change the left mouse click by changing another button to the lmb function then changing the lmb's function
Where were you when RandomFrankP declared his new found love for Razer?
have just seen you newer video reviewing the Razer Basilisk , which one would you say is better ? I need to buy a new mouse! thanks for you great videos !
Nearly every one of his mouse videos go along the same title of : bEst mOuse EVEr????
What mouse is better ? Razer viper ultimate or Glorious model o wireless ???
yeah game clips are really going to help me understand how mouse feels. thankyou (:
I bought the cyberpunk version. Its sitting on my collection shelf. The only thing I dont like is how low it is. Im used to the Steelseries Sensei 310 and going from that, to the Viper, its a big change. Different DPI measures (Steelseries uses CPI), the weight, and the form factor. Then there is the Razer software. But homie already touched on that one for me. All in all, if my 310 breaks down, I have the perfect backup ;)
me: i don't need it, i don't need it, i neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed it
my wallet: your right you don't need it
I've yet to hear anyone prove to me that mouse weight actually affects anything
Honestly, with how much Logitech have been refreshing their pro lineup recently, I'd give it a month or two before we see a g pro x wireless gaming mouse that blows this out of the water.
My only complaint with the g pro wireless is its slippery surface...can't hold it well while playing dota
@@ChochoLevi Feel you on that one. I had to put grip tape on mine. Like actually.
Been 5 months and nothing... Logitech is a joke
8 Months...
I'm considering this against g pro wireless, I'm not sure which to pick... What i understood from your video, the viper ultimate is slightly better?
If I knew how much I liked it, I would've bought it instead of the Superlight 9 months ago; also Razer really is just a super loud brand which always puts me off but they do put out solid products that I know will last me 3+ years which is forever with how much shit I put them through
My deathadder broke today after 8 years. Should I get another deathadder or try out the viper ultimate?
still loving my g304 tho
Yo Frank. Is the Glide 38 your favorite mouse pad for gaming?
me: oh nice review
Frank: 150$
me: WHAT!!! jwdada
Still using this bad boy? Its on black Friday sale right now, should I grip it?
I honestly love the mouse, but there is one thing that just makes me not buy it. The rubber pads on the sides, I hate that shit. Makes my hands more weird feeling and slippery. That's why I got the Logitech GPW. No rubber pads. The dock on the Viper is dope af tho.
Just take them the fuck off
@@kakkosmaxi then gaps would be on the thing?
@@kakkosmaxi theyre part of the shell, unless you want to sand them off
@@bophadesknutz7798 sanding is the best option in my opinion
Hey Randomfrankp , I hope you respond to this. Recently I bought a Razer Viper Ultimate, but the right click feels a bit mushy(like there is some pre-travel time), so I got it exchanged and still does it. Does yours does the same or did I get unlucky twice? Is it just a thing of adapting to the new switches?
Since nobody is buying me a Christmas gift I might as well treat myself 🥲
This man deadass hit almost every sniper shot....
I feel like the wired version is better in terms of price for $75 and weights 69g
i have it wiht the huntsman tournament its truly great, a game changer!
Well, heading to amazon
In the market for a new wireless mouse to replace my Lancehead. Should I hold off since the Viper is pretty old now?
Why do reviewers need to repeat marketing claims like they are absolute facts..
My mum doesn't understand why you need a brand name item to make it good and after 2 months I got the Viper! I was so happy. But 1 week later Razer released the Viper Ultimate!
they are the exact same thing lul except the wireless stuff
why are ur eyes so sparkly?! I can't look away!
as soon the price drops for about 30€ im buying it, using it as 2nd mouse with my G pro. Both mices awesome!
Mice
150$ holy, just take my money razer
just like they took namans mom
is this mouse good for large hands?
Still, don't understand why I would take this over Logitech. I get a charging pad, so don't have to ever worry about charging, and what, 5-6 different mice that work with it? No synapse also, bonus on its own.
Lighter, better battery life, better switches, 25% faster than the Hero sensor
@@randomfrankp You are known as a Razer fanboy lol.
@@moomoo5537 he legit said in the video (that I guess you didn't watch) that his main driver was the G502 lightspeed and that he swapped out. This guy has reviewed MILLIONS of mice and he chose THIS SPECIFIC mouse for a REASON.

@@randomfrankp "25% faster than the Hero sensor" huh..how do you measure that?
Frank do you think I should get the g pro wireless or viper ultimate
It all depends on the shape, they are both awesome mice, so the one that fits your hand size and grip type well would be the best. I currently have the 2077 viper ultimate and I like it so far.
Who else just got like 4 notifs at once lol
Floych it will be 5 if dimitry review this thing too LOL
