@@culturefarm4575 Only the lying scum in the CCP have suggested it came from anywhere other than Wuhan. Every piece of genetic evidence traces it back to Wuhan. The CCP-controlled media intentionally untranslated media reports to try to make it look like it started in the US and later claimed it came from Italy. They know the truth. They have been hiding the outbreak since November. They have brought shame and dishonor to the motherland and they hope more lies can trick the people into forgiving their crimes.

Having lived in Taiwan from 2005-2009, in many conversations with locals I observed that they acknowledge their ancestry, be that Fujian, Han, Hakka, or elsewhere, but the majority of these people regard themselves, first and foremost, as Taiwanese.
As the piece pointed out, post civil war Taiwan has become a vision of what the mainland could have been, which is why the CCP leadership is so afraid of it, and all that it represents.

While many countries do not formally recognize Taiwan, they do in other aspects in terms of quarantine and visas. For example, visa subclass 417 in Australia can be applied by Taiwan passport holders but not one from mainland China. Only a few universities in the US teach the truth about the history of Taiwan. I obtained my political science degree from one of those schools. When the Red Army defeated the White Army (1949) and liberated the people of China from the Emperor (a monarch) and their Imperialist scum, the White Army escaped to Taiwan. Since the US financed and armed the White Army, they protected them in Taiwan. The US still protects the White Army in Taiwan by arming them and putting US military bases there. By doing this, the US is supporting the old Emperor of China. The American people are disgusted and ashamed of their own government for doing this. There is no democracy in Taiwan. That is a sham; a lie.

Even Li KeQiang recently said over 600 million Chinese earn less than RMB1000 a month. The minimum wage in Taiwan is about 6x that. And we have much better health care etc. I have been to China many times. I realise cities like Shanghai, ShenZhen, Beijing have a powerful exterior but as soon as you get to other areas or you work with normal Chinese and see how they live you can see actually their life is a lot worse than that of people in Taiwan. Yes, Taiwan might look like some rural place in say East coast, mountains, outlying islands... but isn't it good they are preserved in the nature? Many of those areas are national parks. As to big cities, yes, not so flashy as China with older buildings because Taiwan developed earlier but we don't have the debt to GDP ratio that China has or the wasteful government funded infrastructure. I have lived on both sides. It is true I was paid more in China, but so what... I was not a normal worker. I was a high end employee with technical skills, good English (manuals for foreign parts we used in English and German only) etc. But I am glad I am home in Taiwan where we had no lock down yet almost no transmission of your Wuhan virus this year (yes, have cases but mostly people who came back from other countries like China, USA, Philippines, Brazil etc with it).

Many Chinese have been kept poor in history thanks to the crazy CCP giving the world things like the "great leap" and "cultural revolution". The fact is the Taiwan average per person income is still about 2.5 times that of China (not sure if that included HK or not with those figures but either way close). What makes you think I am poor? I am not crazy rich, but I am also far from poor. Well certainly better of than 90% of China. Something you might not understand in Taiwan actually some people are quite rich but they don't show it. I am not crazy rich like them either but I have seen a guy driving a small blue truck, wearing flip flops,, shorts, old T shirt... he is worth more money than you would believe. Michael Wang that’s not even in the same context. 1: learn correct English if you’re going to argue with someone. And 2: actually make a logical comparison that involves similar situations. Because right now you sound like a jackass. I’m all in favor of Taiwan returning to 大陸 but 大陸 needs to make some changes. The nationalism, the controlling government, hiding history on both ends, sex trade, your dictator for life needs to go, concentration camps, e.t.c. Taiwan as well needs to make an abundant amount of changes. If you guys can’t compromise than reconciliation will not happen.

At the end of the Second World War, the Cairo Declaration clearly stated that Japan returned Taiwan and the Penghu Islands to China and established the fact that Taiwan belongs to China. In the international community, China is a country whose territory includes the mainland + Taiwan! Do you understand the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Chinese Communist Party? What is a civil war, no matter how it is played, it is a national war, the Communist Party won, and China changed its name to the People’s Republic of China! However, Taiwan is the territory that the Communist Party has won! Therefore, Taiwan is still outside the jurisdiction of the Communist Party, but Taiwan still belongs to China!
As the Communist Party won the occupation of the mainland, a piece of land on the mainland is more representative than a small island in Taiwan, and the mainland is also a Communist Party. Therefore, China is generally considered to be the People's Republic of China. If Taiwan wants to become a country independently, it is to split from China. This is unreasonable and not legal (international law)! The Taiwanese have the right to decide the future of Taiwan, but they have no right to determine the sovereignty of the country! Taiwan belongs to China and Taiwan needs independence. This is a national sovereignty issue! The issue of national sovereignty is determined by the people of the country. Even if Taiwanese agree, mainlanders will vote with their feet!

You're wrong. after the Vietnam war, USA is the "garbage collector" of all refugees from Malay islands. USA could take all refugees who couldn't settle in other countries.
Also, any countries who have been an ally with the USA, are getting rich and prosperous, such as Japan, Taiwan, South Korea.
Any countries, who have been with the Communist China or Soviet, are getting poorer and poorer. such as Vietnam. The Soviet itself went bankrupted and dissolved after 10-year occupation of Afghanistan.
Communism also created wars and killed millions of people, in shameful secrecy.

Economic growth is due to Capitalism. It's not the political model. For example, Singapore is also a prosperous country practising capitalism but it is a democracy .
Moreover, no two political systems even within the same model eg. Dictatorship, are identical . Eg. North Korean vs China Dictatorship.
So , democracies can be properous and Dictatorship can also be prosperous. The difference is Freedom of expression

North Korea is called The Democratic Republic of North Korea. Its a dictatorship based on communism. China is a Capitalist based on Communist party rule. Its a bastardisation of communism and capitalism. All shades of grey exists. Therefore, political models are all lies. The right way to determine if a country is a democracy or not is not by the country itself declaring what it is but what the world perceives the country is. So to some, Singapore is perceived not as a democracy. Political systems need not adhere to any common standards. Each ruling party of each country implements whatever they want. They world of politics is always faked. Political systems are all bastardised. This is the loophole. It's just like GDP is a convenient lie used by all countries including WTO, IMF , WORLD BANK, UN etc. They all play the same game. They all know GDP is not auditable by other countries. But they all play along. Intellectual dishonesty is worse than prostitution because prostitutes show you everything when naked. Politicians wear thick masks
