I disagree, I don’t think he is show boating …I think he doesn’t want to be in the lead ….always easier to follow someone rather than being out in the front. Always easier to run faster with other people around which also means if you want to run a really good time you want other people to stick with you!

The winner didn't run the course record. It was over a minute slower than the record which was in 2019.

    It’s called rotating drafting.

What you blamed the runner in the yellow top of showboating/overconfident the winner did the exact thing about 15 min into the race. Please watch and report accurately as it sounds you had a beef with one runner.

As a distance runner since the 80's, I feel as though he wanted the others to share the work. They obviously did not want to, at that point he should have just tucked in behind the others.

Showboating? For someone who claims to have been running long distances for over 10 years it's fairly obvious that you've never been at the front in a race. The only showboating being done here is by taking someone else's hard work and trying to interprete it to suit your own headline.

Also. The 4th placed runner was running too close impeding him for a good part of the race. He ran a pretty good race. I don’t think he was show boating

You can’t compare being on the front of a running race with a cycling race. There is only a tiny benefit in terms of drag.

Have u run with Kenyans or understood how it works over there? This is normal and common. I don’t think he’s showboating… it’s kinda camaraderie and competition infused together. There’s NO showboating here

You have misinterpreted the whole thing. Even the Kenyan was asking for the others tobtake over the pace making at the four mile mark. My guess is they had an unofficial agreement to run for a record time which is easier if the pacemaking is shared. I see zero showboating and no arrogance whatsoever.

not really , in cycling this is sign for changing position on the front , as you know running at the front of pack is more chalenging then other places behind him so this is not cockinnes just asking for changing places , thats all

Totally disagree and wrong assumption on your path.As an athlete and coach for over sixty years,This is quite normal especially if you are running for a time.Nowadays in certain games,a pace maker is used to improve records.Your idea of showboating is totally different to what we refer to as planning for a record breaking time by the front runners,

I remember racing versus the narrator who used to be fast.
