2:20 I honestly like the usage of the Jurassic Park theme here. The shot shows how the park went from a failed and abandoned wreck fest that never saw the light of tourism, to a giant resort/amusement park with thousands of tourists and visitors from all over the 'world', going to the parks various dinosaur attractions, hotels, gift shops, restaurants, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. 8:59 The reason she didn’t tip over the crane to eat Owen is because like Owen said, the only thing she’s attached to is the crane that always gives her food.
If I was the owner of JP, I would say: "Keep just the herbivores". Problem solved. People still could ride on cute triceratopses, pet gallimimus, hug apatosaurus etc. without having to fear of being eaten
As mathematicians such as Dr Malcolm would say, there is no such thing as a "safe" environment when chaos is involved. Part of the joy and thrill of Jurassic Park is that it's not about the threat of dinosaurs eating people, it's about the risks and dangers of using science in an unprecedented way and the unanticipated consequences which follow. I would argue that even if you only cloned the "safe" dinosaurs, there are still many risks which could arise and many dangers which could result. If the whole point of the franchise is to explore the hubris of mankind's use of genetic engineering, then the solution cannot be to simply say, "But I know how to do it the RIGHT way!" You would end up as a JP villain getting killed by stampeding herbivores. No offense.
Part of that was most likely attributed to the fact the Spinosaurus snapped a T-Rex's neck. Something the filmmakers admitted to feeling guilty about in the AMC Story Notes version of JP3.
The divorce subplot existed solely to make my brother and I cry when my parents took us to see it... right after they told us they were getting a divorce

I remember watching this movie with my brother, and every time we heard the characters’ bones crunching when they were being eaten, my brother would always say “It sounds like you when you eat chips” and we both would laugh about it together. Good times.
after the baby raptor scene in the first jurassic park book, where the lil' girl goes chasing after a dishrag to knead like a cat after being scared, i need me a little fuzzy utahraptor to show some cat toys to
Fun Fact: Mosasaurs are actually a type of monitor lizard related to Komodo dragons. They likely had forked tongues in real life, just like living monitor lizards and snakes. Pterosaurs aren’t dinosaurs either, but they do share a common ancestor.
Mosasaurs are actually True Lizards, in the same family as Monitor Lizards and Komodo dragons, but not actually a monitor Lizard. Also saying something shares a common ancestor is really basic, all life on earth shares a common ancestor.
This movie has been so spoiled since it came out theres no reason for me to fucking see it at this point. Maybe it was great, I don't care to know since y'all ruined the god damn twist.
I always found Zaara's kill mean spirited too. Usually that kind of carnage is set-up by something that makes you want the character to die badly. Even worse is when you realize, she likely didn't die right away but was slowly dissolved in the Mosaur's digestive track as she was swallowed whole.
That's lame if the only characters that bite the dust are those who deserve it! I wish more risks would have been taken like Claire sacrificing herself or another main character getting knocked off as shock value just to show these Carnivores don't give a F**k! Fallen Kingdom and Dominion suffer because of no risks to the main cast! The Alien franchise succeeded in taking risks to increase the threat of the Xenomorph which is something JW2 and 3 failed at!
This isn’t the first time a character that didn’t deserve to die died. Eddie was killed trying to save everyone and the poor guy got manhandled by two Tyrannosaurs before getting TORN IN HALF by them. Dinosaurs don’t really care if you’re a good person or not.
@Ender Gaming That doesn't mean anything. Dinosaurs (land reptiles) are of the clade Dinosauria. Flying reptiles like the Pteranodon are of the clade pterosauria. Last but not least, I don't think there is a clear clade for the sea reptiles. The Mosasaurus belongs to the clade Pythonomorpha, while the Plesiosaur belongs to the Pistosauria. So you can't say every species with 'saur(us)' is a Dinosaur.
Claire really should have faced criminal charges for incredibly gross negligence and manslaughter not shutting down the park much sooner than they should have and getting so many guests killed.
Where Is Waldo I still look over my shoulder after rewatching IT follows, I don’t expect a demon to actually be there tho. Your logic is dumb you don’t seem to understand how horror works
"Who's the alpha" "you're lookin' at 'em kid" and "can we stay with you?-no no, him" are my favorite interactions in this movie, just two kids who wanna have fun with chris
That’s proof that in Jurassic Park, it doesn’t matter if your nice or standard. The dinos still kill because they’re animals. And sometimes, even to the nicest of us, death can lead to brutal ways to go
@@gregisstepbro I'm so confused when people say they liked her. She might not have deserved what she got, but she was a jerk. She was careless, and she let the kids run off. She was rude overall, and I predicted her death.
Considering The Lost World ripped Eddie Carr in half for the sin of trying to selflessly save the dumbass main characters, I can't really say that Zara's death is all that atypical. Some characters get a comeuppance death, but by and large people just...die in the series.
It’s nice to hear that even the guy who counts gruesome deaths in horror films also took issue with how unnecessary the caretakers death was. Just bummed me out for literally no reason when I saw it.
Aidan Beirne Wait what? Which hunter? Cause besides Roland, Ajay, Ludlow, Bakker, Stark and Carter, I don’t remember anyone who even looks like the guy here.
I think the reason Owen Grady doused himself with gasoline was to hide from both of the Indominus Rex's methods of tracking. The smell would be too much for the creature to sniff him out and the gasoline would also hide his heat pattern.
And even Owen didn't have full control over them. He raised them, they still don't fully listen to him. What was the plan of the fat dude? Without Owen they'd have turned on the humans immediately. That's pretty much the entire point of the scene, where that one dude fell into the raptors paddock
That was kind of the point of the character: only sees what he wants to see. He was totally dumb enough to try running that mission without Owen, probably thought himself badass enough to control them himself.
I always thought that Zara's death was meant to be a joke over how females have never died in any of the JP movies which is why they gave her such a brutal death scene.
I also feel like the number should be two female deaths, because one of those ACU soldiers from the "IT CAN CAMOFLAUGE" scene is clearly female. Shes one of the closest ones to the Indominus, so it would make sense that she got caught in the rampage.
It felt so forced and, as he said, mean-spirited. the entire point of the kill was to remind us that the Mosasaur was still there but it could have been any other person and served the same function. Zara was actually a character I felt a bit of sympathy for then they just murdered her, it was even a kill, it was outright murder. She was singled out entirely for some reason and just killed. Out of the entire movie where dinosaurs kill people, this scene is the one thing that i remember because it bothered me so much.
The Mosasaur hopping a little out and dragging its prey under water’s actually pretty realistic. Fun fact, the alligator is a relative of the Mosasaur’s and locks it’s jaws onto its victims dragging them around under water until they stop struggling, though it doesn’t have the second row of teeth the Mosasaur had.
I love how James is just so all struct about the petting dinosaurs It is incredibly cute and yes the chirp from the dinosaur is very cute it completely deserves the reward
Fun fact: Zara was apparently going to be much more obnoxious and rude, which would’ve made her more deserving of that excessive death scene, but they cut a lot of the extra footage.
i was 7 when this movie came out and i remember wanting to see it really bad, so bad that my parents told me they'd take me to see it if i pulled my tooth out (it been hanging there for about two weeks because i was to afraid to pull it out). i still have a photo of me smiling with a bloody mouth. one of the best nights of my life :)
Delta being the raptor that kills Hoskins actually has some depth. earlier, when he is talking about the wolf puppy, he asks to pet Delta(when she is in that restraining device), does it, and Delta growls loudly. she clearly didn't like Hoskins. I love how you portray the Mosasaurus as just wanting quiet, like a stereotypical librarian.
this one was my favorite of the movies, seeing a fully realized dinosaur theme park was just too much fun and as overused as Chris Pratt is i really enjoyed his sequences with the raptors, i also liked Claire bc Bryce Dallas Howard is really cute even though her character was kind of a crappy aunt for the first parts of the film
I gotta say, even if this movie wasn't the best in terms of plot, or characters, or... well, anything, really, it was still fun to watch dinosaurs tear shit up. Especially that scene where you see all those guys flatline, that was a super creative way to frame the action.
I always wondered why the Containment Team's weapons were so ineffective against the Indominus. Were those supposed to be some kind of electric stun guns? And I also scratched my head about the Pteranodons heading straight for the helicopter. Made no sense to me why they would attack the first thing they saw.
Yes, they were stun rods/ guns. They were attempting to subdue it and put it back in containment, which is why there's a bit where owen and masarani go back and forth and masarani says "we can't just kill it." after the attempt to subdue and tranquilize it fails they go along with the evacuation
@@generalkenobi6656 probably wouldnt get as much attention, after the 2 "awful sequels" (i dont think they are btw i enjoyed some parts from them) alot of people wouldnt pay attention to a park movie But a WORLD movie makes it sound new and bigger and better, which is debatable to say the least💀💀

@jokekopter2509 that is literally the explanation
If I was the owner of JP, I would say: "Keep just the herbivores". Problem solved. People still could ride on cute triceratopses, pet gallimimus, hug apatosaurus etc. without having to fear of being eaten
Therizino from ark: A S C E N D E D
I'd keep a T-Rex, it's a big, easy to track predator, and it's also pretty well known
Or, make Jurassic Safari! How about that?
But then we wouldn't have a movie
As mathematicians such as Dr Malcolm would say, there is no such thing as a "safe" environment when chaos is involved. Part of the joy and thrill of Jurassic Park is that it's not about the threat of dinosaurs eating people, it's about the risks and dangers of using science in an unprecedented way and the unanticipated consequences which follow. I would argue that even if you only cloned the "safe" dinosaurs, there are still many risks which could arise and many dangers which could result.
If the whole point of the franchise is to explore the hubris of mankind's use of genetic engineering, then the solution cannot be to simply say, "But I know how to do it the RIGHT way!"
You would end up as a JP villain getting killed by stampeding herbivores. No offense.

The skeleton that Rexy destroys at 21:05 is actually a Spinosaur skeleton which could be a nod to how poorly recieved JP3 was.
Part of that was most likely attributed to the fact the Spinosaurus snapped a T-Rex's neck. Something the filmmakers admitted to feeling guilty about in the AMC Story Notes version of JP3.

Fun Fact: Mosasaurs are actually a type of monitor lizard related to Komodo dragons. They likely had forked tongues in real life, just like living monitor lizards and snakes. Pterosaurs aren’t dinosaurs either, but they do share a common ancestor.
Dear god.
Indominus: "I fear no dinosaur, but that... thing... It scares me"
Ok
theyre not monitor lizards, they're related to them.

The Alien franchise succeeded in taking risks to increase the threat of the Xenomorph which is something JW2 and 3 failed at!
moasaur had 2 sets of teeth for shredding, so she wouldve been shredded to death instead of digested
This isn’t the first time a character that didn’t deserve to die died. Eddie was killed trying to save everyone and the poor guy got manhandled by two Tyrannosaurs before getting TORN IN HALF by them. Dinosaurs don’t really care if you’re a good person or not.
James: The mosasuarus is not a dinosaur
Kids: Impossible
NANI ?!

Maybe the archives are not complete
@Ender Gaming That doesn't mean anything. Dinosaurs (land reptiles) are of the clade Dinosauria. Flying reptiles like the Pteranodon are of the clade pterosauria. Last but not least, I don't think there is a clear clade for the sea reptiles. The Mosasaurus belongs to the clade Pythonomorpha, while the Plesiosaur belongs to the Pistosauria. So you can't say every species with 'saur(us)' is a Dinosaur.

Considering The Lost World ripped Eddie Carr in half for the sin of trying to selflessly save the dumbass main characters, I can't really say that Zara's death is all that atypical. Some characters get a comeuppance death, but by and large people just...die in the series.

Worst bit with Zara's death, is you can see her trying to crawl out right before the Mososaurus' jaws snap closed
Quite snappy
I think the reason Owen Grady doused himself with gasoline was to hide from both of the Indominus Rex's methods of tracking. The smell would be too much for the creature to sniff him out and the gasoline would also hide his heat pattern.
16:44
Fat bad dude: with or without you
Me: with or without the only guy who can control the raptors
And even Owen didn't have full control over them. He raised them, they still don't fully listen to him. What was the plan of the fat dude? Without Owen they'd have turned on the humans immediately. That's pretty much the entire point of the scene, where that one dude fell into the raptors paddock
That was kind of the point of the character: only sees what he wants to see. He was totally dumb enough to try running that mission without Owen, probably thought himself badass enough to control them himself.

I always thought that Zara's death was meant to be a joke over how females have never died in any of the JP movies which is why they gave her such a brutal death scene.
superxmario128 I thought that too
Malaska :D did you even see the part where it said her death and her name
I also feel like the number should be two female deaths, because one of those ACU soldiers from the "IT CAN CAMOFLAUGE" scene is clearly female. Shes one of the closest ones to the Indominus, so it would make sense that she got caught in the rampage.
irishguy051 Plus all the dinosaurs death, they’re females

Mosasaurs are more closely related to monitor lizards than crocodiles though.
Alligators, crocodiles and caimans are more closely related to birds than they are to mosasaurs.
