Ex-girlfriend’s brother gave me a similar hull with the same engine back in the 90’s. It has sat on a shelf in my garage unused. Your video has given me what I need to get it running. Also all the tinkering is part if not the main part of the fun!

Make it spins over with the glow plug out with NO!!!!!!! grinding or clicks. If it is an ABC piston/liner there will be a smooth pinch at the top of the stroke. This normal for a healthy ABC engine. If it is stuck do not try and turn it over. There are way to soften the old lubes if it was not put away properly. Easy to fix. The con rods are not the best in these engines. I always have 2 new ones on hand. As much as I dislike Mecoa, it is the only place to buy parts for these engines that I know of. I wont buy another K&B for that reason. Running a 20% nitro mix and 18-22 %lube these engines will last longer than you need. You will move up if you want to really know what fast is. Beat the crap out of electric, cost money but it smells wonderful!! LOL Thats what its all about! You have tuners and people that run electric.

Your gas tank is backwards ..wen the boat accelerates the fuel goes to the rear of the boat and away from the clunk in the tank .. I've seen this many times ..the clunk can only follow the fuel so far ..then you'll start pulling air and causing your engine to have inconsistent runs .. turn it around the fuel will be forced to go to the carb ..

K•B awesome little engines 3.5 an 7.5. I have a tunnel hull with three 7.5 outboard‘s on it that we use to run at the speed runs. I also have two brand new in the box 65 OS max inboard from 1985 thinking about building another Hydro maybe or selling them.

I will let you know. I’m still looking for two Rossi 80 from the mid 80s to put in my open class twin screw Hydro. Also looking for a Steve Muck mono hull from the mid-80s 85 to maybe 88 it was one of the fastest hull around at that time. I think it would still be really fast nowadays.Would love to put a brushless motor in one.

Hey I have a brand new version of the tunnel hull and the K&B 7.5 engine, both are still brand new never put together or ran or completed that I’m getting rid of
What I mean is I have that K&B boat and engine that is vintage new old stock that the boat has never been built and is still just primed and the engine is still new in the box from whenever it was made

Is tgat typical idle speed. Seem awfully high but I don't know

Hey brother, on nitro boats ya run the idle pretty high due to load when launching. (Least I do) most of the time your wot anyway. As for throw, I make mine as wide as possible then limit through the radio to see how the boat reacts.
I have a K&B 16.4 cc (1 cubic in.) nitro glow outboard in real nice condition . It puts out 4.6 H.P. at 22,000. I don't know what to do with it , maybe make an egg beater out of it?
What fuel did you use ? I have a knb 3.5 on prather tunnel hull , just wonder what fuel i should use
I use bones 30/10 nitro. Boats tend to like 50% nitro, but I’ve had good luck with 30%
@@jjrotogeek I'm new to this and I have a k&b 3.5 like when u say 30/10nitro i thought it would be 10%nitro and 18% oil i seen on a page i just don't want to blow it up
I had a Lee Craft 7.5cc tunnel hull. It was a great class to race. Is your hull a Prather? They made an aftermarket billet aluminum rod with bronze bushings that is a good investment for the 7.5cc K&B. As they say in tunnel hull racing, when in doubt trim it out.
Agreed!!!! Yes thisnine is a 32 Prather. Thisnis the first time I’ve used the 7.5. I have a few of the 3.5 outboards. If u have the link to those parts of appreciate it!

Found a 3.5cc rod on ebay made by the same company. Searched: Aero Motor Engines. Looks like MECOA that I think owns K&B might carry them. Good luck.

@jjrotogeek yea seems hard to find anything, just need to find a starter, a glow plug, how the fuel lines run, the factory carb settings and what fuel I need,
