We need a new Hans Groiner Masterclass. This is gold. Can we make a petition or something ?
Hans is like the Borat of music. Genius. ))
i thought he was bruno!
Finally I understand Sus Chords. Thank you Hans.
suspend for???
Careful there, probably there are people hanging from the roof upside-down to play those chords properly by now
clocked in just the right time - i must say lol
Seems sus
That's it... I'm quitting my online lesson videos. It's ALL here.
OMG!!! Funny Stuff if you can make it thru the music!
"When accompanying a singer, never never never listen to them"
Its funny cuz its true.
One of the best Jazz vids out there. Thanks for doing this!
It makes it even more precious when people don't 'get it'
You dirty rotten Scoundrel you
The double diminished had me spitting out my tea!
LOL!!!! Can't believe MyMusicMasterclass actually uploaded this! This is trolling raised to an art form...
Always a treat to see Hans bringing that flavor to jazz that nobody had on the radar.
The piano warm ups had me chuckling hard, and of course they returned to it in slow motion to end the video. This was perfect
As funny as it is, my frustration is that I can't explain the fun of it to a lot of people around me, including musicians. We love you Larry!!
Tried to do the same, it just passes above everyones head. Those Monk tunes, Maiden Voyage, Giant Steps....tried to use the same concepts when playing some standards, but it's darn difficult to play only butter chords.
Definitely my favorite joke about sus chords. Though I don't know any others, this one is the best.
Thank Gsus there aren't more sus chord jokes
great one about double diminished ahah boom boom
I love his sense of humor.
Hans was my neighbor growing up!
He’s the real deal!
He ate drank pissed piano morning til night!
He’s an Absolute treasure we have yet!
His 3rd album Groin on Groin was so dialed in !
Hats off Groiner!
Right Arm!
I am amazed at how people take this seriously and write negative comments to "criticize" it!! I mean.....look at the hairpiece, the fake accent and especially the things he says about the music which of course, if you are a serious musician and especially a jazz musician, you would know right away he is making this up!! I thought classical guys had no sense of humor but I guess many jazz musicians are worse!!
Absolutely beautiful. Bravo!
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!
Very enlightening. Thank you sooooo much Hans
Chuck Loeb is this chuck's real account , my heart my sole 🙏
More than excellent. Great inspiration
Desch wirklich so unglaublich gut, weischt, Hans, du würdscht uns halt echt a granatemäßige Freude mit noch mehr von solche lehrreiche Videos machen.
Really fantastic vid! Thanks for this!
Answered so many of my unasked questions. Thank you!
GREAT! Blessings and keep not swingin Hans forever!
Die Walküre at the end is great!
Giant Steps with the same II-V phrase. genius!!!!!!!!
His jazz turnaround was golden. :)
Very instructive, thanks!
This is gold!!!!
Love this
Thank you Hans! I'm going to tell all the vocalists I work with that listening is a one way street.
Make more of these please!
Great video!
One of the greatest!
by far my favorite video of all time hahaha
OMG!! HILARIOUS!!! For those of you who don't quite get it, think of the movie 'BRUNO' as applied to 'jazz' piano. Larry is not only an unbelievable player but an amazing comic!! LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!
i was thinking same but Borat. I haven't seen Bruno movie yet unfortunately.
... and a healthy dose of Spinal Tap
A whole new world, thank you
i love this
Please Hans, release more masterclasses, please, please, pleasssssssssseeeeeeeeeee
Fantastic! Double-diminished and drop 2 finally clearly explained!!🤣
Hans, My Jazz professor says that sus4 means sustain for four beats. This is like TAB for piano - instead of writing a whole note on the staff write sus4, sus3.5, sus2, sus 1.5, sus0.0625,etc...
I could still dance to this!
very valuable lessons!!!!!
especially the warm up technique !!!!!!!!!!
finally some PRO lifts the Curtain, and gives us access to all the well kept secrets of great piano playing.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!
Pure genius!
Larry, you make my day ))))))) thanks 8)
The Piano Warm Up is unübertrefflich!!!
I lost it at the "turnaround"
Gonna have to work on the double diminished. Complex stuff
Drop 2 is my favorite!))
The richness of the chord is unbelievable.
You are my master.
Fabulous! Do you tune your own pianos, as well? It’s lovely!
Wow, deep insights I never would have reached on my own! I finally understand the true meaning of sus4!
LOL the changes to "Giant Steps"!
I can finally become a jazz superstar.
That's good man. You got me up to the sus4 explanation. Very funny.
"Almost sounds like she's going to say something else there." LMFAO.
great stuff, +1 mate! :D
Become a maestro in one lesson, gonna subscribe to this.
I do your warm up and cross hands exercises daily. Please tutorial for the song 'Fagan', named after the vocalist for the group Sealy Pan.
Goooood music 🎶
I laughed soo hard. Thanks for doing this!
Amazing video showing some jazzprinciples and how to make Monks music romantic and listenable. I have a specific question. How on do you manage to do the warmup excercise leaning the arms outwards. I have been trying for a week but fails miserably, are there any simpler excercises one can do before reaching your level? Also I really would like to attend a master class with you, how do I sign up?
hello larry , I would like to know which piano you play in "don't cry baby" in the album "careless love" with madeleine peyroux. , i would like to buy it . thank you very much . Hugo
Dear Hans, Please do a video explaining the C# Demolished scale.
Genius!
Groiner rocks!
I have wondered about all these things he discusses. Now I have THE answers!!! Yippee! :-) (Brilliantly funny. seriously.)
Larry is pure genius
indispensable advice ... of course!
thanks hans
Where can I see more Hans Groiner?
Turnaround!
I finally understand upper level triads.
YES!!!
Da best no contest
This is a killer! Hilarious! Next time he should mention Shout Chorus. I guess that's when everybody in the band shouts for the duration of one chorus :-)
...or they just shout the word "CHORUS!"
This is a hilarious idea!
How's about a lesson on chromatic drippage and harmonice seepage?
Pretty killer edit to "Trane"s non-diatonic solo.
AW Larry man, fuck this had me laughing. Can't believe this! You are magic man much love.
All the answers are here, I can't thank you enough.
Wow.
Pete Barbutti - I'd forgotten all about that madman! This guy could set back the world of music at least seven minutes...
"and here we have F sus, sus of course means sustained"
And that's where I lost my shit. This dude is hilarious.
LOL..i love this guy.
So much to learn . . . so little time . . . ;o)
2:22 = GOLDEN.
Nine, Nine!
Pete Barbutti meets Victor Borge!
Thank you for this informative video! Your lessons are simple, yet profound. For example, I always thought "sus" meant "sushi." Thank you for clarifying that. (Now I know that is only true in China.)
Larry Goldings.
turnaround!!!
Sign me up for lessons! Blue Monk is so beautiful!!!
Got me, I thought it was serious at first. Nice.
Whoa
This is hilarious!!!!!!
From Mr. Barstow to Herr Groiner. What's next??? Just too funny. Gives him something to do on the off nights...
Hate to pull the race card, but the first tune sounds more like 'White Monk'.
Very white. LOL
I wish I could get my upper structures that far UP
So hilarious! :)
thank you. you are god
haha very funny, I wasn't expecting a joke lesson xD
