Larry is the best! Come for the insight from a top tier player; stay for the comedy mannerisms. Every time he gives that look, how can you not laugh? 😊
amazingly, your reply comes the same morning I watched Wuthuring Heights for the first time. The original. I kept hearing them say "dirty hands" and immediately thought of "Dirty Hans" and that if there was a musical remake where Larry played Kathy....and Hans played Heathcliff (a la the Patty Duke show)? There is a cold wind of kismet in the air. @@-gbogbo-
or wait....Heathcliff as stable boy is Larry, and when he comes back from America, he is Hans G? And it's commentary on how we consume culture....and its all shot POV from Cathy's perspective b/c Cathy is played by the viewer at home?
Metheny does this stuff all the time to a ridiculous level. Love your playing Larry! This is an important useful lesson. The viewpoint is a little weird!
are there more of those videos? i do not get everything from here fmajor or gmajor triad over dminor chord a flat triad over d7 chord as passing to the gminor chord is there any specific progression going on? what aboot the notes played arround those triads?
@@ModalLarry, yes, sounds great. You reach the b5, b7 and the b9. And when you like to combine this triad with the major triad on the b6, you'll reach more notes of an altered scale, ... and you are in the world of "Triad-Pairs" with excellent possibilities of permutations.
@@BillTscherno Thanks for getting back to me. So with this approach you can combine any two triads in the Mixolydian scale your 7 chord comes from? Plus the altered triads. So you can literally use any note on the keyboard, as long as you are creating something to your pleasing. Do I have it right?
Or a later B-3 with a pilot lamp. But the drawbars are rounded, so it's likely older. As we know, there are many mods for these organs so who knows. I don't "think" it's an A-100.
Wouldn't it be more simple just to think great melodies?Applying sequencing and etc,etc ,any technique of development you want ...but about melodies and logic of the phrase.
My favourite B3 player with a great instructional video...thank you.
Larry, you are great, being a piano player i was getting lots of ideas from you for my organ playing especially for organ trios, thanks man
That was amazingly helpful! Thank you!!
astounding sound, always a fan of your ideas and sound .... even if i´m a drummer,
love it a lot !!!
Thank you, Larry.
So good…thx for sharing this.

Hans G. is never far, that's scary

Great Larry
Thaks Hans!
Chico Marx finger swipes...that takes me back. I watched a lot of Marx Brothers as a kid thanks to my "greatest generation" grandparents. 😁
Very Larry Young from Larry Goldings

The thing I love the most about Larry is he looks like Giovanni Ribisi :)
Larry Young!!
Soooo Larry Young.... Love it!
Nice.
cool!
The Lick at 3:49 !
badan beely
Hmph! Giving away Chico Marx's secret fingering technique! Shame!!! 🤣🤣
Excellent video, Professor Goldings!!!
"Get rid of the F & G at 1:54... try F# instead for a nicer sound!" - Hans Groiner

Excellent teaching and playing, but are you as good as Hans Groiner?
Hahahah!
If you can‘t remember 808000000 - just tape your drawbars?
I used to have a wood block I put behind the bars for the same purpose. 808 is your bass and it easily can get knocked in somewhat.
How does he determine that the Ab sound is an upper structure of D7?
This is the tritone substitution. D7#11 and Ab7alt using the same scale.
Both the Ab and Bb triads also give us the fun notes of an altered scale (b9, #9, #11, b13)
@@BillTscherno So over dominants you can play the flat 5 as a triad and it will work?

I want to find him and fix those drawbar contacts. Seeing the drawbars taped down to get them to engage gives me the cringes.
Is that an A-100?

1 person prefers Hans Groiner.
"Unless you're Chico Marx" Haha!
