Then recently, I came upon an accident, where there was no traffic flow in one direction, and seriously jammed up the other direction. Thought since this is a major road used to get from one side of town to the other, I would give Uber the heads up, so they can route drivers on a different road. I do 3 more runs, then suddenly, w/o warning I am taken off line. They want a pic of my vehicle, and proof of registration, but it doesn't let me send it. I'm pissed cause I have a pretty good idea what this is about. I try to resolve in chat, and keep getting a run around about a safety investigation. So the short of it is that I was penalized for their lack of English comprehension. And NO they didn't compensate me for their f*ck up! But I did learn something- don't deal with customer service if you don't have to. Being nice will just cause a lot of stress, and frustration.

Lyft and Uber have the ability to rate riders, so why not other apps? I have told DoorDash repeatedly that they need to add this feature. The drivers are usually blamed for anything that goes wrong. I get so frustrated with customers who don't give the building number in their ginormous apartment complexes with 60+ buildings. Anything beyond 4 buildings needs to show the number.

When I switched paying by PayPal through Walmart delivery, Walmart took away my option to tip drivers. So, what I do now is write "cash tip in envelope under welcome mat" (under instructions section). I always tip my drivers, and taking away tips to these hardworking folks is SO MEAN!
I used to drive for “gopuff” and they had THE best feature I have ever seen doing gig work delivery. They had a notes section for the drivers, It made it possible to leave a comment about the active delivery you are on. the address for example if someone had a dog or a “watch your step on the 4th stair” etc. there were also the comments if customers didn’t tip were rude etc. Because how else do we hold customers accountable for tip baiting. It’s straight up theft. I really wish we had that feature in all the delivery service platforms.
I used to drive for GoPuff, too. I loved that concept, along with the fact that you don’t have to shop for anything, or get pinged to every restaurant in town. The last straw for me was my last delivery went to a housing project that’s unsafe, even during the day. The facility wasn’t in the best part of town to begin with, and they had no problem sending us to some of the worst neighborhoods/apartment complexes in Greensboro, NC. I wasn’t too thrilled with the pay to miles ratio, either, so I just went back to DoorDash and GrubHub.
Spark does have that feature, it's optional to use as you can click "skip" and go past it. I use it regularly just so Spark or the next driver knows what to expect.
It's not illegal since tipping is optional. The order payment is not even processed until the driver completes the order, so they can change it anytime before then
Ive had tip baiting happen twice to me. Call in and speak to a manager , and they will give you back the tip. I had them apply it ! I wasn't playing with uber,only a manager can fix it
I always wish there was a way for local drivers to form a page and let other drivers know who the tip baiters are. I have the addresses for them and the ones that are a total pain in my phone. Dropped a shop and pay last night for a difficult customer I had before who wants you to send her pics of several complete aisles, ask store associates and search other spots to find out of stock items. Then to finish off the trip she was supposed to give me the door code, didn’t work and waited 15 minutes downstairs at night for her to get her kids together to come down and answer the door. Best part was when I saw the pay and realized that while it was decent for the mileage and items, literally none of it was tip. Realizing it was the same address and order saved me a lot of irritation last night.
You may already know this but on Walmart app, if we customers select shipping option instead of delivery, we cannot leave tip. Walmart algorithm will decide which portion of order is fulfilled by Spark drivers and which by Fedex /USPS. We can only leave tips when we select delivery option. I bet those terrible orders you see with a bunch of drop offs, bunch of miles, and no money are bundled "shipping" option orders.
When I order I only do items that allow delivery to be selected. The items that only allow shipping I skip on because what hapoens is you can't select a tip, and the "shipping" items arrive by delivery anyway but on different times and days. It's a mess so I don't do it, EVER!
Those are typically the batched delivery orders. I don't like those orders but if I'm desperate I will take them. I think Walmart and Spark severely underestimate how long those deliveries take.
Terrible that the woman removed the tip. So Sorry that happened. It's 100 out you are doing her a favor by delivering what she needed. Just terrible. I tip 20% all the time for things I order thru skip the dishes I live in 🇨🇦 the service is always appreciated. I have health issues so unable to go shopping myself. I stopped doing Uber Eats when i accepted a $7.50 order with expected tip for 2 miles, when i got to pick up. It was in a mini mall , i had to circle multiple times to get a parking space , wsit in line in ice cream shop , made my order when i arrived , go to drop off in a 3 story apt with private parking so i parked on street , go into building and find her 3rd floor apt ... drop off at door. In the end i recieved $4.50 for 20 minutes , uber payed me $3 and the customer. Dropped her tip to $1.50... and Uber took $5 for the use of the app ... so no more
I didn’t even know they could remove a tip. I find that absolutely unacceptable. They are thankless and they do not realize all the effort that you have put into picking up and delivering something for them in the summer hate and traffic.

Oh man, I am so sorry about that tip bait! I had that happen to me too. I was delivering 10 PIZZAS!!! I walked up to this house and a bunch of teenagers were having a party. This underaged drunk girl waddled up saying, "OH MUY GAWD, THE FUUD ISSS ERRR!!" When I left, they took the tip off...DoorDash, paid like 4 bucks and the tip...ZERO DOLLARS! I was so tempted to go back to the house later in the week and rat her out to her parents! 😆 But if it makes you feel better, I LOVE your channel and I think you're hilarious! Do you have the option to block certain addresses so you won't get anymore deliveries for them? Or... If you take another delivery from them and realize after you took the order, can you cancel and return the food back to the restaurant?

I understand the reasoning behind the customers not tipping with istacart. We did an order wasn’t right and I couldn’t get an actual person on istacarts site to help with the issue. We will not be ordering from them again.

I don’t park at Walmart. I live about 5 miles away from either Walmart in my area and I pick and choose my round robins from my kitchen table. If I’m out 15 miles doing a delivery, I still get round robins. So don’t stress yourself out by having to be there. I turn all my apps on and just go with the best ones that come in. Early morning round robins are the best. For some reason, people tip better😄. And I cannot stress enough to check your quantities heavy and “bulky” items!
You're lucky you get them from that far away. I live rurally and drive into the nearest metro area to Spark or do UE, IC, etc. I have to be at the store or within a mile or so to get the good ones. They'll shoot me the crappy fcfs ones from a few miles out but nothing I usually take. Maybe it's a smaller town versus urban thing or how saturated the market is but I envy people who can get an order from home!!
I delivered an IHOP order that the customer removed the tip because it was missing the maple syrup even though when she told me I went right back to the store and got it for her. I was never so insulted
If you get bad service I can understand I’m taking a tip away. If you’re doing a shopping order and I don’t have all the items I can understand them lowering the tip but not taking it away.
I did doordash for one year and i can sympathize with y look y. I got a 10 cent once and did mn othing wrong. I eventually quit because of all the bs, no tips and customer service sucks. My numbers were really high and i wish i would have been rewarded in someway. Good luck girl.
Call support, not chat and get the tip back. Tell them the customer broke the terms of the contract and uber needs to make it right. Some customers are just p.o.s. and i agree uber needs to get rid ofmthis option. I've never been tip baited but i would loose my shit on support if they refused to make me whole.

The Uber customer support is more based on Uber ride share where the tip is an extra and you don’t expect it. Then you uno reverse card them and ask them if $2 is fair pay for a 10 mile trip and they have no answer. The tip isn’t an extra, it’s what makes the trip worth while
I just don't do Uber Eats because of this reason. I can't afford to be tip baited. I'd rather deal with Doordash. At least I've always received the money I agreed upon. Sometimes it's not the greatest but I don't get robbed without my consent either, lol
I ordered from a store before and order was wrong. When I contacted support I specifically asked that the driver still get his tip. The support person said he would but I received a full refund. I suspect Uber didn’t pay him the full tip out of their pocket. I suspect the customer had a similar experience .. maybe ? Sorry that happened to you. Uber should pay in these situations.
On the memberships. If you remember I was having a difficult time trying to find the option button to turn on membership "gifting" in your live. I found out why. This info might be helpful for those with the same problem. I had to google this several different ways to get this answer. It was not easy for me to find. But....it's because my channel is branded. I don't know what that means exactly but something to do with having more than one channel associated with the same email address I believe. It can be changed. I'm scared to do it because of all of my videos and subscribers. I don't want to take the chance of losing them. Hopefully this info is helpful.
Spark customers sometimes tip bait too. I remember one that did and I won't deliver to them any more. I've seen orders from them come out and I won't even think about it. There was one order with 3 drops and they were the last one, I thought about taking it but their stop was going to be very late, only barely on time for food safety. The reason I'm so mad at them. First it was a shopping order. I got all their food, quickly. 2nd it was 8 miles out of town. I delivered quickly. Then the tip was removed. They stole my services. Or they stole my money.
the only time I took the tip off of a delivery for myself was when my order was delivered to a warehouse instead of my house. I saw the delivery pic. and my house was easy to find. not sure what was up with that but what a hassle for me to have to wait for the refund then shop again. ugh!
I used to have pretty good luck getting tips that were removed for no reason taken care of by support. Later this summer it just didn't seem to work anymore and if they are not rating low for the quality of service or explaining why they did it I suggested that the customers that tip baited me can be blocked from my app. When we accept the offer it's not split up for us to make a proper decision if we don't receive the tip and I find that scandalous. There has to be a way to stop this.
I was doing Spark two days ago and it was a $40.00 offer for 3 drop offs . I went back the following day to look at my earnings , and they dropped the tip from $24.01 or $00.00 .

Drivers prefer you tipping up-front in the app/online. Also, you will definitely get your order faster (and hotter/fresher food) if you tip in the app. Otherwise, these apps can pay us as low as $2/delivery. So, your order will get delayed bouncing around from 1 driver to the next as the app adds like a quarter to the pay each time until the delivery pay is enough for someone to take. Hope this helps 🙂
How are you able to just sign on to do doordash anytime you want to? In my market in Oklahoma you either have to earn the top tier status to do that, or you have to have scheduled yourself well in advance
Be careful carrying those vacuums with just one hand. I worked at Kohl's for three years and I can't count the times the whole side of the box would rip open. It can be too much weight for that one handle to bear.
I had two tip baiters; one yesterday and one today. I was going to let the first one go, but two days in a row is bullshit. I called Support and after explaining the situation and asking for a supervisor, they gave me the full amount for both deliveries. Tip baiting is such a waste of time. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. Fight for every dollar that you earn.
My walmart delivery man said he can thumbs up me after the delivery and the next time I order if he's working, he can then see it. I live in a house with like 4 entrances. And I never get my stuff correctly. So when this guy did bring it to the correct apartment, I was like, oh my god. He's the one that told me that you can thumbs up!!!
I’m careful about taking orders for on Uber eats these days for the same reason. I got tip bated last night 29.95 for a HUGE order that took up half my back seat at a pasta restaurant and they gave me 7.95
This is why I only take low risk orders on Uber. I only take orders that are 5 miles or less from my main area that way if I do get tip baited I didn’t waste much time. I get some offers for 20-30 miles, nope, not until Uber guarantees the original amount the customer put in if the order is delivered on time.
Being able to pull a tip without having a suitable and verifiable reason is just ridiculous. I'm sorry you had that bad customer, and that the neighbors were being jerks again, I'm glad you were still able to hit almost $25/hour as a balance for the bad and annoying!
I was tip baited the other day on UE. first time in all the years I've been doing delivery. ended up with $5 for a nearly forty mile round trip. Called Uber to see if they could flag the guys account to see if he does this often. They said they could block me from getting any more orders from that address or customer and they also said they'd flag the account hope it wasn't BS because even UE support said I got to his address before the estimated time and he didn't file a complaint about anything he was just being a jerk!

I hate tip baiting! I have tried complaining to UE as well. I told them to look at my pickup/dropoff times and my texts to customers because I always give them an employee name that i confirmed the order with since most are sealed. I also give any updates to the customer as I go. They still say tips cannot be enforced or reimbursed. It says on their faq that drivers are able to leave ratings for customers and restaurants, but they have never been able to tell me where I can do that. We should be able to rate customers, and it should pop up with their offer. It is straight up theft to make an offer and then decrease that offer after services rendered with no legitimate complaint. UE knows this is happening and does not change their tipping policy because it allows them to get the base fees from the people who do this and wont order on DD because they know they cant get the tip back. UE doesnt care about the driver cause they are still getting their full cut

I stopped doing Uber Eats when i accepted a $7.50 order with expected tip for 2 miles, when i got to pick up. It was in a mini mall , i had to circle multiple times to get a parking space , wsit in line in ice cream shop , made my order when i arrived , go to drop off in a 3 story apt with private parking so i parked on street , go into building and find her 3rd floor apt ... drop off at door. In the end i recieved $4.50 for 20 minutes , uber payed me $3 and the customer. Dropped her tip to $1.50... and Uber took $5 for the use of the app ... so no more

I didn’t even know they could remove a tip. I find that absolutely unacceptable. They are thankless and they do not realize all the effort that you have put into picking up and delivering something for them in the summer hate and traffic.
Yes, they have an hour to take away or give more. On instacart you have 2 hours to reduce and 2 weeks to up the tip.

Oh man, I am so sorry about that tip bait! I had that happen to me too. I was delivering 10 PIZZAS!!! I walked up to this house and a bunch of teenagers were having a party. This underaged drunk girl waddled up saying, "OH MUY GAWD, THE FUUD ISSS ERRR!!" When I left, they took the tip off...DoorDash, paid like 4 bucks and the tip...ZERO DOLLARS! I was so tempted to go back to the house later in the week and rat her out to her parents! 😆

Do you have the option to block certain addresses so you won't get anymore deliveries for them? Or... If you take another delivery from them and realize after you took the order, can you cancel and return the food back to the restaurant?

I know someone who does Instacart and he says the customers remove the tips a lot! I don’t think it’s right!
I understand the reasoning behind the customers not tipping with istacart. We did an order wasn’t right and I couldn’t get an actual person on istacarts site to help with the issue. We will not be ordering from them again.

I don’t park at Walmart. I live about 5 miles away from either Walmart in my area and I pick and choose my round robins from my kitchen table. If I’m out 15 miles doing a delivery, I still get round robins. So don’t stress yourself out by having to be there. I turn all my apps on and just go with the best ones that come in. Early morning round robins are the best. For some reason, people tip better😄. And I cannot stress enough to check your quantities heavy and “bulky” items!
You're lucky you get them from that far away. I live rurally and drive into the nearest metro area to Spark or do UE, IC, etc. I have to be at the store or within a mile or so to get the good ones. They'll shoot me the crappy fcfs ones from a few miles out but nothing I usually take. Maybe it's a smaller town versus urban thing or how saturated the market is but I envy people who can get an order from home!!

I delivered an IHOP order that the customer removed the tip because it was missing the maple syrup even though when she told me I went right back to the store and got it for her. I was never so insulted

If you get bad service I can understand I’m taking a tip away. If you’re doing a shopping order and I don’t have all the items I can understand them lowering the tip but not taking it away.
I did doordash for one year and i can sympathize with y look y. I got a 10 cent once and did mn othing wrong. I eventually quit because of all the bs, no tips and customer service sucks. My numbers were really high and i wish i would have been rewarded in someway. Good luck girl.

Call support, not chat and get the tip back. Tell them the customer broke the terms of the contract and uber needs to make it right. Some customers are just p.o.s. and i agree uber needs to get rid ofmthis option. I've never been tip baited but i would loose my shit on support if they refused to make me whole.

I totally agree! They should not be allowed to take back the tip without a legitimate reason. For what they did means you did not get compensated for your time or gas and that SUCKS! You can only hope that you'll make up for it on another run. Which it seems you did on this day, but I'm sure that's not always the case. So sorry that happened, some people are just awful! I stopped calling Uber about tip baiting because if I hear "Leaving a tip is the customers discretion and they aren't obligated to leave a tip" one more time, I might throw my phone into a lake.

The Uber customer support is more based on Uber ride share where the tip is an extra and you don’t expect it. Then you uno reverse card them and ask them if $2 is fair pay for a 10 mile trip and they have no answer. The tip isn’t an extra, it’s what makes the trip worth while
I just don't do Uber Eats because of this reason. I can't afford to be tip baited. I'd rather deal with Doordash. At least I've always received the money I agreed upon. Sometimes it's not the greatest but I don't get robbed without my consent either, lol
I ordered from a store before and order was wrong. When I contacted support I specifically asked that the driver still get his tip. The support person said he would but I received a full refund. I suspect Uber didn’t pay him the full tip out of their pocket. I suspect the customer had a similar experience .. maybe ? Sorry that happened to you. Uber should pay in these situations.

On the memberships. If you remember I was having a difficult time trying to find the option button to turn on membership "gifting" in your live. I found out why. This info might be helpful for those with the same problem. I had to google this several different ways to get this answer. It was not easy for me to find. But....it's because my channel is branded. I don't know what that means exactly but something to do with having more than one channel associated with the same email address I believe. It can be changed. I'm scared to do it because of all of my videos and subscribers. I don't want to take the chance of losing them. Hopefully this info is helpful.

There are videos about how to get UE to give adjustment for the tip bait amount…you have to ask to speak to supervisor.
Spark customers sometimes tip bait too. I remember one that did and I won't deliver to them any more. I've seen orders from them come out and I won't even think about it. There was one order with 3 drops and they were the last one, I thought about taking it but their stop was going to be very late, only barely on time for food safety. The reason I'm so mad at them. First it was a shopping order. I got all their food, quickly. 2nd it was 8 miles out of town. I delivered quickly. Then the tip was removed. They stole my services. Or they stole my money.

the only time I took the tip off of a delivery for myself was when my order was delivered to a warehouse instead of my house. I saw the delivery pic. and my house was easy to find. not sure what was up with that but what a hassle for me to have to wait for the refund then shop again. ugh!

I used to have pretty good luck getting tips that were removed for no reason taken care of by support. Later this summer it just didn't seem to work anymore and if they are not rating low for the quality of service or explaining why they did it I suggested that the customers that tip baited me can be blocked from my app. When we accept the offer it's not split up for us to make a proper decision if we don't receive the tip and I find that scandalous. There has to be a way to stop this.
I was doing Spark two days ago and it was a $40.00 offer for 3 drop offs . I went back the following day to look at my earnings , and they dropped the tip from $24.01 or $00.00 .

Drivers prefer you tipping up-front in the app/online. Also, you will definitely get your order faster (and hotter/fresher food) if you tip in the app. Otherwise, these apps can pay us as low as $2/delivery. So, your order will get delayed bouncing around from 1 driver to the next as the app adds like a quarter to the pay each time until the delivery pay is enough for someone to take. Hope this helps 🙂
How are you able to just sign on to do doordash anytime you want to? In my market in Oklahoma you either have to earn the top tier status to do that, or you have to have scheduled yourself well in advance

I had two tip baiters; one yesterday and one today. I was going to let the first one go, but two days in a row is bullshit. I called Support and after explaining the situation and asking for a supervisor, they gave me the full amount for both deliveries. Tip baiting is such a waste of time. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. And I never get my stuff correctly. So when this guy did bring it to the correct apartment, I was like, oh my god. He's the one that told me that you can thumbs up!!!

I’m careful about taking orders for on Uber eats these days for the same reason. I got tip bated last night 29.95 for a HUGE order that took up half my back seat at a pasta restaurant and they gave me 7.95
This is why I only take low risk orders on Uber. I only take orders that are 5 miles or less from my main area that way if I do get tip baited I didn’t waste much time. I get some offers for 20-30 miles, nope, not until Uber guarantees the original amount the customer put in if the order is delivered on time.
Being able to pull a tip without having a suitable and verifiable reason is just ridiculous. I'm sorry you had that bad customer, and that the neighbors were being jerks again, I'm glad you were still able to hit almost $25/hour as a balance for the bad and annoying!

I live in Florida, and it was 103 in my car last week. My son also lives in Arizona, and I always feel so bad for him.
I was tip baited the other day on UE. first time in all the years I've been doing delivery. ended up with $5 for a nearly forty mile round trip. Called Uber to see if they could flag the guys account to see if he does this often. They said they could block me from getting any more orders from that address or customer and they also said they'd flag the account hope it wasn't BS because even UE support said I got to his address before the estimated time and he didn't file a complaint about anything he was just being a jerk!

Uber Eats customer service is straight trash!!!! I've picked up sooo many orders where the restaurant says someone already picked it up....or the restaurant is closed...just horrible!!! Need to call department of labor..lol

And last week I called to see if customer service would compensate me for driving over 5miles to the restaurant and they told me no because I’ve already been compensated too many times for other drivers picking up the orders. I hate tip baiting! I have tried complaining to UE as well. I told them to look at my pickup/dropoff times and my texts to customers because I always give them an employee name that i confirmed the order with since most are sealed. I also give any updates to the customer as I go. They still say tips cannot be enforced or reimbursed. It says on their faq that drivers are able to leave ratings for customers and restaurants, but they have never been able to tell me where I can do that. We should be able to rate customers, and it should pop up with their offer. It is straight up theft to make an offer and then decrease that offer after services rendered with no legitimate complaint. UE knows this is happening and does not change their tipping policy because it allows them to get the base fees from the people who do this and wont order on DD because they know they cant get the tip back. UE doesnt care about the driver cause they are still getting their full cut
