and scandi edge is the most easiest grind to sharpened btw 😊

Yes, I'm a bushcrafter. I truly enjoy the scandi grind edge. Soooo many times I would like to have it ,but it is inappropriate to have a fixed blade on my hip. This. . . . . . .Well, I'm gonna find out. Thanks for showing this one.

I like a scandi grind although I am not really a bushcrafter. They work well. I really like Vosteed's scandi folder, The Grind.

I wanted that one but couldn't find it anywhere, then I heard they had heat-treat issues with some of the blades. Hopefully they bring it back!

Just got the last blue one off Amazon and I'm very much looking forward to seeing how it operates. Thank you for advertising this. They still have the green ones and brown ones on Amazon and the price really was decent.

Very similar to the Vosteed Grind. Differences - this has washers and gimping on the spine. I don't know if all scandi's are this way, but the edge on the Vosteed is so sharp, it's the one knife I don't fidget with - it's that sharp.

It looks great. But the few reviews on Amazon seem to point at heat treat (or burned edge?) issues. A shame, this is something i'd buy. Now i have to wait for more tests

the edge is for soft woods, not hard woods. Edge angle is 7deg per side, for a total of 14deg. I think they fixed the frailty of the edge in the fixed blade version, which is 13deg per side, for a total of 26deg. When I got it, I thought it was 14deg per side, not included haha. To make the edge more durable, you need to convex the edge, which is what I did to mine. I would still not use it as hard as the fixed blade version - I'd love to see an iteration with an improved thumbstud, canvas green micarta, 13deg per side scandi grind and thicker scales (like 1/8" thicker per scale).

Mine rolled the edge IMEDIATELY carving soft wood with some torsional pressure applied. After giving it a run over a diamond stone and a VERY SLIGHT convexing of the edge its been really good. I suspect, like most, that Real Steel runs their 14C28N a little too soft and the overall dimensions of tbe blade and how thin the stock is makes it much less stable but well see how it holds up. I have an okd D2 fixed blade of theirs from years ago and while it has a tiny chip in the blade its thicker stock and its still incredibly sharp with only a minimal resharpening in the many years Ive owned it.

Learn to sharpen a scandi grind and you will not get a dulling of the blade. Your technique will eventually dull the edge.

I like it. Vosteed had the grind which is an excellent knife. I know the finn wolf by cold steel and even the kizer pinch is scandi. Thanks for letting me know about this. I'm interested 😊

I just picked up my first Realsteel knife recently after taking a look at another model the "Metamorph" I bought a "Gslip" with a D2 blade and brown canvas micarta handle instead, its been working as a folding steak knife. It has been deployed against 3 different steaks and it easily prevailed against each of them so far.

Very nicely done yet again M_C, and nice to see Real Steel still knocking out the same quality that I started to appreciate them for . Stay safe and healthy brother and as always keep them loved ones safe🫵😘👍

I have this.. its good but due to the thin high scandi grind, the edge is too weak.. just doing a single chest lever cut and the edge bent, not chipped, but bent... if i use it more, i'm sure it will chipped...

I recently purchased a Real Steel Sidus that is as small as I like to go with a blade just under 4inches. It wasn’t centered which is disappointing and it has some stick when closing but it came very sharp. They definitely put a good edge on their knives.

Helle knives from Norway (i.e Scandinavia) has a whole range of scandi-grind folders.
I've used mine as my fishing/small hiking knife for two years now. Perfectly suited to gut a fish or make decent fire sticks.

A true scandi with cut wood better then other grinds. Alot of scandis are not true scandi grinds though. They usually have micro bevels or slightly convexed. But this knife is awsome! I want.

Cold steel should make exactly this with the triad lock with their griv-ex and aus-10 or 4116 at a budget price. I predict it would be well received from the bushcraft community
