This was awesome! My only suggestion would be timestamps and your decklist/any side decking you did. It looks like some cards you were running were different from the original deck profile so it'd be useful to know if they were sidedecked in or not and what cards they replaced
Loved the commentary, I would love to put a magician souls into my shaddoll builds but it's still quite a bit. At 4:08 you can't dump winda off of granguniol. One card that I'm wanting to test in all of my shaddoll builds is enemy controller in the main deck. It can help protect winda like crazy, it helps dodge negates and can steal problematic monsters. Overall great vid!
4:50 At that point he could have not gone for Chimera since it needs at least 1 monster from Field. Also Bystial Dis Pater cannot negate the effect of The Dark Magicians (To summon DM and DMG) if it activates during the Damage Step (If it was destroyed in Battle) Since it negates effect and not activation. Great video.

Yeah, if they both are send to the GY at the same time, you have the card in the GY to target it. It is easy to remember, because I as an Altergeist player I did that all the time Altergeist Silquitous being equiped with Altergeist Manifestation to almost guarantee that, if one of the cards leaves the field the other does so as well at the same time, so that Silq can recycle the Manifestation (which a bit later could revive the Silq etc.)

Ok, I desperately need a deck list for this. 🥺 I play traditional Dark Magician, but the archetype is horribly outdated for the current metagame. This build actually interests me to change it up!

Always really cool to see people really dedicated to their favorite decks that want to keep innovating on them, finding new lines and combos, etc. Just some thoughts on the series as a whole since I watched the various videos you have back-to-back after algorithm pushed this to me: Definitely interesting ideas and directions to take with the deck (talking about both this build you've used for the past few videos as well as the one in the original video). I assume some people would take issue with how tight the DM package has become in this build either due to their playstyle preference or semantics on how it's "supposed" to be played but it looks like it's working for you (and sounds like the correct direction for what you're trying to do here) and your commentary on these videos throughout shows that you've definitely put a lot of thought into the theory behind this and it's very fun to see. Couple things on the content itself since you asked, like others have mentioned I think seeing full Bo3 matches and discussing your siding patterns would definitely be a good addition. Aside from that, could be nice to have an LP counter or something off to the side? Not always necessary but could be nice to keep track for viewers if in a grindier or more back-and-forth game. Overall great stuff, looking forward to seeing more videos and your future ideas, and rooting for you to do well - the way you discuss everything definitely makes me think you have the right mindset for going about this!

Interesting situation: The activation of your Branded Fusion gets negated by a Dragoon stolen from you. And since it was the activation that was negated, you are not locked into fusions, which means you could summon Accescode (which is an interesting card to have in the extra, if one plays Branded Fusion and Fusion Deployment in the main). Usually the Branded Fusion gets Ashed, which only negates the effect, which means usually one is still locked into fusions. So, you were kinda "lucky" here.
Does "The Dark Magicians" activate in damage step when it dies by battle? He still negates your dharc with dis pater, but you could have done that line.

Yeah, I just missed it. Misplays happen :( I think I definetly had enough to win that game. Even at the start of my opponents turn, I should’ve utilized my dragoon negates instead of saving them which prob would’ve been enough to win there. Yeah I know I just started playing at my locals again after not playing for years and have missed loads of interactions. It's a shame you missed the granguignol effect you could have still got accesscode without trying to crash. I play branded and have an OTS tomorrow so hoping for not to many missplays myself.
I love this game play! Branded DM is really good. Cartisia is a powerhouse for DM. Branded, providing all the dragons needed for dragoon, seems like a perfect match. Quem is also really good card to keep Cartisia or even fallen of albaz live! Would love to see a deck list, as i have a similar deck built. It would help me see any potential cuts or additions for my list. Keep up the amazing work. Fyi, i just got back into the game, its been almost 15 years since ive played and its definitely not the same game i remember. Although its been fun getting to know the new cards and meta. A more brutal game than it use to be.

On Game 2 , Soul Servant banish for coast and draw 1 card . Do you not banish this card and draw Dark Magician from your Deck. You can't actvste the effect like this, you must first banish soul servant to draw one . Nice Video:)
I think you’re confusing 2 different effects. In the video, Magician Souls sent schism to grave to draw 1, Soul servent then was chained to that effect stacking dark magician so I drew dark magician. Soul servent was later banished form grave to draw 2 (DM and DMG in grave)

Yup, that was an illegal action, it woudlnt really matter, I’d send Apkolone instead but I’d have to discard a card (which I had) so it wouldn’t of changed game state that much… but you’re right. I did apologies after I caught it during editing
I think he added 2 cartesias as well when just one allowed, and somewhere at the beginning there's a draw before activating soul servant that I did not get too, I could be mistaken though

Re: winda adding back schism when they're sent at the same time, I can't imagine this not working. Shouldn't this just be the same as Colossal fighter being able to summon itself since they're worded the same: as a trigger in the GY?
Dark magician is such an interesting deck, it wins by flipping skill drain, rivalry, gozen and summon limit or makes dragoon. Such an interesting strategy
Were you maining Secret Village? Any thoughts on baronne or chaos Angel given Cartesia and the bystials? (Or does the albaz fusion restriction make it not worthwhile) Granguignol can’t send winda to grab back schism. Would need to be construct or another shaddoll fusion. Is that the main point of double winda or is it to make the second one if the first gets outed?
The extra deck is so tight as it is, only way I’d consider playing chaos angel ext, would be if I’m cutting the accesscode / link line which can be an option. Yeah, both my opp and myself missed the ruling there unfortunately, I apologized after. But yes, 2 winda’s are essentially there in case 1 gets outed as you can just make another with schism still face up.
@@MatchieYGOyou probably already know this, but Apkallone can also grab Shaddoll cards from the graveyard to add to hand, not just from the deck, so she's also good at fishing back a discarded/destroyed Schism. And Gran *can* send her, unlike Winda.
Yup yup. That was 100% my fault. I could’ve just sent Apkolone and added schism back (obvi I would’ve had to discard) but I don’t think the game state changes at all if I send Apkolone instead. I did catch it post editing. Won’t happen again.

16:34 ruling should be in your favor, coz you can just stack the effect to have the shaddol trap hit grave, winda effect to add back.

Yup, that was an illegal action, it woudlnt really matter, I’d send Apkolone instead but I’d have to discard a card (which I had) so it wouldn’t of changed game state that much… but you’re right. I did apologies after I caught it during editing
I think he added 2 cartesias as well when just one allowed, and somewhere at the beginning there's a draw before activating soul servant that I did not get too, I could be mistaken though

Re: winda adding back schism when they're sent at the same time, I can't imagine this not working. Shouldn't this just be the same as Colossal fighter being able to summon itself since they're worded the same: as a trigger in the GY?
Dark magician is such an interesting deck, it wins by flipping skill drain, rivalry, gozen and summon limit or makes dragoon. Such an interesting strategy

Granguignol can’t send winda to grab back schism. Would need to be construct or another shaddoll fusion. Is that the main point of double winda or is it to make the second one if the first gets outed?
The extra deck is so tight as it is, only way I’d consider playing chaos angel ext, would be if I’m cutting the accesscode / link line which can be an option.
Yeah, both my opp and myself missed the ruling there unfortunately, I apologized after. But yes, 2 winda’s are essentially there in case 1 gets outed as you can just make another with schism still face up.
@@MatchieYGOyou probably already know this, but Apkallone can also grab Shaddoll cards from the graveyard to add to hand, not just from the deck, so she's also good at fishing back a discarded/destroyed Schism. And Gran *can* send her, unlike Winda.

You can't send winda with the effect of Granguignol because it has to be level 6 or higher. Apkallone is your fix for this. Love the deck man

Yup yup. That was 100% my fault. I could’ve just sent Apkolone and added schism back (obvi I would’ve had to discard) but I don’t think the game state changes at all if I send Apkolone instead.
I did catch it post editing. Won’t happen again.

Yup yup, sometimes you forget things when the camera starts rolling haha. I should’ve known too, I play the deck haha.
@@MatchieYGO Trust me, I know the feeling. Idk why but I play Blue-Eyes and whenever the opponent uses Harpies Feather Duster I just forget jet says no.
