Hubers should always be visited at night with the glowing lights. It makes the rich wood stand out and the Spanish coffee making way more dramatic. It's the only place you can get the very best Spanish coffee. I've had many a drunken night there and even lost my car a few times. lol
They made it sound like they invented it. I'm not sure how this Spanish coffee compares to the place you mentioned but I really do like the atmosphere of Hubers. The place has changed a lot since I first went there 10 years ago and has kind of gone downhill as far as the surrounding area.

Spanish coffee was invented at the Fernwood Inn in Milwaukie, OR. Anyway, I always find Huber's disappointing.
