- I'm gonna carve my artwork into stamps today! I bought some linocutting supplies, and it's about to get WILD in this art studio! Honestly, this was oddly satisfying and therapeutic, so I hope you find it just as satisfying watching it!!
*Supplies to do this yourself:
Stamp making kit: amzn.to/2REsqm6
Carving Blocks: amzn.to/2SMwmyz
I'm suggesting these linocutting supplies because they're more affordable than the ones I bought. The ones I got were at Blick's.

Love it girl!! I have been into stamp making for the last few months! Sooo soothing and relaxing.
Art ala Carte hi Valerieee
Art ala Carte .
Ive done this when I was in 5th or 6th grade (it was a while ago XD) and I have the scar to prove it XD I do believe I still have some prints of what I did but I'm positive I don't have the original anymore (sadly) I did it in art class back then and I think mine was possibly the most complicated out of the whole class (am an artist) with how much I liked the results I prefer drawing/ painting 😇
What dose she use to do it with?
The print of the moth in the paint when she stamped it looked sooo cool
I admire you Mira for making dew with what you have when it comes to making your stamps and people shouldn’t judge you for having a different way of doing things.
I did this at college when I studied art and I loved it so much
Me too! It was a printmaking class.
We did this in year 8
I love watching you and listening to you. I suffer with severe depression and you are so upbeat and happy. I have done this way back in, wait for it, ELEMENTARY school. I'm almost 48, so it was awhile ago. I still remember the carving though. It was so satisfying even as a kid. Watching you carve made me get the itch to go try it out. However, I already color, draw, crochet and cross stitch. I have enough nail polish to last me for centuries. So, bringing home another hobby might make my husbands head explode. LOL Have a great day and poo poo to the haters.
Haha!! Well your current hobbies sound amazing!! I've always wanted to try cross stitching. :)
Love the moth and the mushroom. I've never made stamps but now I want to try. I love making cards and paper crafts.
Looks like fun making your own stamps. Thanks for sharing, Mira.
I have totally done this before! In high school I made valentine's day cards or as I designed them Singles Awareness Day cards.. then I loved it so much I convinced our art teacher to let me just do these the rest of the year other than final projects... I also did it this past Christmas to decorate my own wrapping paper. It turned out SO cute!
My favorite thing to do outside of art is cook and go to the grocery store/farmers market (weird I know but its my happy place, something about grocery stores just soothes me, i think its because I worked in one for the first 7 years of my working life. But if I have had a bad day I will go and just peruse the produce and think of things I can make with it and it calms me down.). The other thing I recently got into was fermenting my own food! I am sooooo hooked already! love your videos!!
Ahhh such a good idea! I wanna do wrapping paper!! 😮
@@MiraByler It turned out very cute, I carved my favorite cat for the stamp. Don't tell my other cat I called him my favorite, he'll be devastated!
It is currently 20 to 2 am and this is exactly wat i need 😍
I do a bit of everything, which is both a blessing and a curse - Photography, crafts, art (colour pencil, copic, sketching, odd painting or two). I also love to read books and play video games.
There’s a few things I want to have a go at working with - inks, flow art painting, galaxy painting, posca pens.
i love how chill and fun your videos are 😊 ive done a bit of stamp making and your video has inspired me to do more with my artwork. thank you!
I loved doing this. I did it at school and went with a hummingbird over a flower.
Its 3:11am I'm so glad I found your video! ❤❤❤❤❤
Its 3 in the morning....... I'm with you...... Hahaha. Thank you for the welcome.
The prints look awesome!
Omg! What a quintessence! Literally today I just finished art like this!
I did this back in grade school, and we didn't get any fancy carvey things, just a wooden stick and a clay needle tool. The assignment was to make a pattern for the eye to follow or something like that, so I did a bunch of random lines and shapes. We had to do sketches first and I remember adding to mine because I absolutely loved working with it
SO SATISFYING OH MY GOODNESS!!! Fun fact I actually did this once in art class at school, I think I did a lobster! Lol I loved watching this and whatever you do always turns out so cute!! I've actually thought about getting some stuff to try it again, I can totally see this becoming one of my hobbies! Other hobbies of mine would be watercolor, playing the Ukelele, reading Amazon reviews about things I have no need for, and playing with my cat!! 😃
I did this years ago maybe 6th grade year or something for VBS. It was fun and so therapeutic . I was helping in art something or other at the time. I remember that much.
I'm in 6th grade and we did this just without the cutter, and I made a hand forming a heart. I love to hula hoop, go outside, do art, and watch art videos!😁
I love carving stamps!! There is a whole community of carvers out there. I first got into carving when I found out about letterboxing. Letterboxing is like a scavenger hunt but what you find is a hand carved stamp. You follow clues, go on beautiful hikes and when you find the 'letterbox' you stamp the image in your logbook and re-hide for the next person to find. You also have your own "signature stamp" that you leave an image of in the letterbox. If you like hiking you should definitely check it out!! There are some amazing works of art hidden out there. If you want more info about it I can point you in the right direction!
Oh my goodness!!!! THIS SOUNDS SO COOL! I definitely need learn more about this. Is it a pretty common thing? :o
When you mentioned finding it buried deep on UA-cam at 2am.... that is basically what happened with me. And then I went right down the rabbit hole, ordered supplies the best day, and even though I’ve been practicing for a month I’m still quite awful.... but I’m obsessed with it. The satisfaction of carving out the rubber is so real. Especially with two toned rubber. So far, I’ve only made a variety of mushrooms because they are so simple. So fun!
Omg. I’m watching this at 2 am and find this really awesome. I’ve been looking into carving my own stamps too with my art. Thank you for sharing your process and you are not alone in feeling that this is satisfying activity. Also I love that I’m not the only one who loves watching art videos at 2 am. Lol Many Blessings!❤️💕👍
I love scrap booking, reading and doing stuff with my hubby
My favorite hobby is crocheting! I've always wanted to try soap making!
I did this in my 6th grade art class. I actually also made a butterfly. I used many different colored inns and layered them too. I just wanted to tell you about my experience with it. I love your art it really inspires me to draw. I just love your personality and how to are so positive. Thank you for being such an inspiration to me I love you!❤️
💜💜💜
Omg we used to do this in school and i used to looove it. So much fun 🖤
Yes! I did this a looooong time ago in high school in an art class. I still have my stamps, one is a fish and the other is an eye. I made eye print fabric that I still have also, along with prints of the fish. My friend made a wave stamp and we collaborated and made some prints with both. Recently I found some sheets of eraser (?) at Daiso and used it to carve some stamps. Fun!
I'm so excited that you just started this again. I have been following your videos for a year or so, and your channel is one of my favorites. I just got a block printing kit for Christmas and am loving it. As an absolute beginner, I am really looking forward to seeing more stamp carving videos!
"I fell like this is something I would end up watching at 2:00 in the morning"
I almost died when said said that cause right now it is exactly 2:00 in the flipping morning
I did this in highschool too!!! I made a big portrait of the Pokémon Mewtwo 😂😂😂 so typical of me! Haha
Cool, I am in grade 7 and we did it at my school And I made a horse and rider!
Yes pokémon great chouce my fav!😀
Horse Lover15 that’s so cool. It seems fun! I’m learning to horse ride and it’s AWESOME!
No I haven’t done this before, but it looks like fun. My hobbies are art, reading, and role playing. I also love to color.
I’m majoring in exactly this! i love seeing printmaking
I have done this before in 6th grade art class and it was so satisfying and I wanna do it again!
I did it in art class with an eraser, I made a dog paw with a heart in it, because I love doggos
2am and came across this video...very therapeutic lol
This is incredibly satisfying to watch!! 😍😍😍
Girl you’re rocking it love it
I did this in sixth and seventh grade, I made a giraffe for the first one, and a couple doughnuts for the second. I'm also doing a project like this now for school, we took a picture of ourselves and we're cutting it out to print it!
I made a giraffe for my first (and only) one too! I named him Geff (pronounced Jeff) and he is an OC of my mine haha
This video is gonna be so satisfying, carving them out can't wait to watch!!
Woohoo!!
i've been thinking a lot about linocutting recently, and this video really makes me want to give it a try :3
I totally get what you mean by "accidentally finding" a new hobby.
I started sewing a while back and then recently I got into embroidery and that sounds so boring but it's so amazingly fun! And it's so different from drawing, I'm really happy to discover new ways to create things, I love embroiding in bed now before I go to sleep.
I'm currently making embroided patches for my boyfriend of all his favorite metal bands and I'm so excited to gift them to him and sew them onto his backpack!
Anyway, I'll stop the rambling, I loved the video and I'm really glad you found something you're having fun doing ❤
I love writing and reading too besides art.
Recently I'm getting into baking.
Omg this is so cool i should try this someday💖
I love doing this
I just recently bought a stamp making kit and it is sooooo calming and therapeutic!! I've been making a ton of vintage-looking postage stamps, I also loooove how they look the first time I stamp them in the ink or paint!! I'd love to see you make more stamps like the ones in this video!! Your style translates really well into the medium!!
i remember making these in Highschool, i sadly can't remember what i carved nor did i keep them. This video did get me interested in getting the supplies like you did and trying it out again for a lazy art day
The moth one was my favorite
Omg these are so cute!I have got to try this out!My fav is probably the moth!😍💝
I really love making stamps. There's special stamp material that's not for linocuts but for usual stamps you use with stamp pads. That's much more convenient for me. And the result looks much cleaner than with acrylic paint.
I also sketch my designs before I carve them. After using pencil I'm using a thick fineliner to sketch out what of my design will be stamped and what will be empty space.
I love your vids! thank ou so much they are relaxing and fun and inspiring so just..... Thank You
I've done it at school in an art class. Only once. I made a island with palm tree and birds. It was very relaxing and satisfying
I did this in an art class where we studied the studio that did the Harry Potter graphics and designs in the movies! We had to design a new logo for something in the series, most of us did Weasley's Wizard Wheezes or generic HP related designs for this specific task
I did it in art class 2 years ago and it was a Picasso inspired portrait. I think it turned out really well.
That sounds beautiful!!
I love your excitement!!! I think you are soo talented and adorable. I have never watched someone carve stamps but it Was satisfying lol. 💙💚
I love this art
I love carving, I did it w/ my school and it was sooooooo relaxing
This is my first video I've ever watched by you, and I already love you're personality
Loved watching this Mira!! Your enthusiasm is wonderful! I’ve only just woken up (I live in Scotland) with a stinking cold, so feeling sorry for myself I reach for my favourite UA-camrs - you obviously, and what an unexpected treat!! I have always wanted to purchase from your shop, but the postal costs have been problematic for me, so thank you for thinking of us admirers overseas and trying your best to lighten the cost!! ☕️🍃🌺
The mushroom 😍😍😍😍this is so cute. I think i will try this out❤. Thank you for this inspirative video, dear mira.
Oh wow these look incredible
I haven't tried this before, however, after watching this I may want to try it. I agree it looks so satisfying.
I love this video you should do a soap carving video
I just did this last week in school and I’m only in middle school not high school and it was really fun and cool😁
I did this in art class a few weeks ago. You're right! It's so satisfying! I went to Hobby Lobby to see if I could find and purchase some. Sadly I couldn't find any...
Anyway, you were in my recommended list. You seem very nice and joyful. I will subscribe!😘💜
i have done this once at school and it really was satisfying !!
That's just amazing! I'd love to see more videos like this one. 💖
Acrylic paint FTW!!!!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ No shame in using what you have
Agreed!!!
Omg i love you so much you are so goooodddd❤️❤️❤️
So satisfying to put your art onto stamps!! Trick I found.... reguilar tracing paper works to transfer your design onto rubber. Keep in mind, lettering will come out backwards if your not paying attn.
You can get fabric paint and stamp designs onto shirts... the possibilities are endless! 😄
I have done this before in elementary school I was in about 3rd of 4th grade. I made a beach scene I remember it being so satisfying. We also used acrylic paint. Now that I am a sophomore in high school I want to try it again!
I haven't made stamps like this in a while but my class worked together to make a font. Each student had two letters and we had to design a lowercase and uppercase letter. It was really really fun!
That’s awesome!!
Mira, you're so good at all of these new and exciting projects you try out!! These turned out perfect. I cant wait to see how they look on your art packaging!! Great idea!!!
when I order... duhhhh
I have carved that same way before when I took art classes as a hobby (?) :D I did a cat sitting on a cherry tree
For the questions of the day: I did this in middle and high school art classes! In middle school I did a little puzzle pattern that was just one color/reduction and in high school I did one of my dog (1 color) and one of a pony that was more complex and had 5 colors/reductions! It’s soso fun and you’re right, it’s very satisfying, but it takes a lot of planning when you’re doing one with multiple layers. It was hard for me to wrap my head around haha!! Also my hair is always everywhere, and my other hobbies are playing guitar and horseback riding. The horseback riding definitely doesn’t help with having the hair everywhere 😂 Love your videos 💞
Love stamp making, it's so relaxing. I can remember doing it to make my own fabric patterns. Top tip, if you warm the lino on something like a 'crepe maker' or even a radiator, it's easier to carve into. The cooler and tougher the lino is, you may struggle to achieve more detailed work and might slip away (avoids accidentally cutting yourself). Also if you have a design you like to do; sketch it out onto paper; copy on transfer paper and then rub onto the lino with a heavy pigmented pencil. ;) x
I love art and music. I incorporate a lot of music notes in my artwork.
Nice, I’ve been meaning to try this. Thanks for showing how it’s done 🙏
Wow, your stamps are so sweet.
You should definetly film your soap making process. So interesting to see people making cute colourful soaps.
I did this in school when I was somewhere between 8- 12. Not exact on the age but I remember doing the carving sooo well. I had the most fun ever and I think it was a belt I carved which I gave to my father. I have thought about getting back into it but first I'm playing around with watercolour painting and acrylic painting. I am having a good time with those art forms at present and cant afford to buy more arts/crafts tools/supplies. However, one day in the future, who knows when, I will revisit the idea of carving stamps again. Thanks for the video, love your stamps Mira. They came out first rate didn't they! 😁
I did this at school and made a snowflake on one side and a butterfly on the other side it was so much fun
Love this activity... Same zen feeling for me for sure! Don't do it often enough... Other hobbies? Well it's still art but woodburning also is super zen for me. Polymer clay is also a very cool Frontier in addiction to paper crafting.
Ahhh, wood burning is so fun!
I have not gotten to do so lately, but I also do like trying fish flies for fishing, although I don't fish. Lol. I love this video.
I’ve never done it with linocut (though that seems super fun) but for my GCSE art portfolio we burned into styrofoam, and then stamped it with acrylics on black paper. My theme is skeletons (edgy teenager wowie) so I did a hand and it looks like an x-ray which is fun.
Your stamps turned out super cute and this was really satisfying to watch!!
My other hobbies are include writing, card-making (not so much anymore) and I used to cycle but I stopped after I broke my arm and my leg. I need to get back into it!!
And video games, so many video games, I’m addicted to Streetfighter and Professor Layton, its very bad.
thats so funny, i actually found your video at 4am and it Is the first one im seeing haha. i also found it really satisfying to watch, it turned out so cute!
Awww the shroom is lovely...
My other activities (besides arts because it's not my main activity) are really really reaaaaally random. I do yoga and like to dance, I enjoy writing and reading and also leaning languages...
Your hobbies sound wonderful! Especially learning other languages. Kudos to you!
@@MiraByler yeah I love the way that English sound, and after I felt somewhat confident to express in it made me want to learn more about other languages
This looks like a lot of fun 😎🤗!!!
wow, I'm subing first time here 1:30am pretty cool. I like the way your voice sounds it is very calming.
These are so cute! I love seeing how excited you get about things, makes me feel super happy with you. I did this in college years ago. It was a new Zealand moari design and I loved doing it. Watching this makes me want to get into it again! My other hobbies are gaming and animals. So anything to do with animals I love to do. Especially learning more about them and how to look after my pets better etc. I'd love to see more videos like this!
I did it in school 💜
I made a parrot in School of that material when i was little and it was really fun
The first time I've carved a linoleum block was senior year of highschool! And I carved some at home! Most of mine are bat stamps!😁
THAT IS AWESOME!! Also, your bat icon is sooooo cute! 😍
@@MiraByler aw thank you so much!!😊
Now I really want to try making stamps!
THIS IS AMAZING. I’m new, and I love how welcoming you were, and even tho you keep talking about your shop, you didn’t promote it. I never see that from anyone. You just gained a sub
Welcome to the art family! :)
I took a printmaking class in college. We did ours on metal once and a piece of plastic or something another time. I was pregnant at the time and did a little still life of some baby items, like a bottle, teddy bear, etc. on the metal and a tiger on the plastic. It was a pretty cool class. I still have mine. My daughter is 14 now. 🙂 I make candles sometimes and was going to sell them, but i never can get them to turn out as good as I want them to.
I got that same lino cutter for Christmas! I've made a little stamp of a lightbulb already, but now i'm inspired!
Ahh, that's so awesome!!
That mushroom is SO cute!!!!
I stumbled across Sea Lemon's channel awhile back and now I can't stop making sketchbooks. I like making them out of old Disney's Wonderful World of Reading books. :) I love randomly coming across something that inspires me to create!
I do this to make my own stamps! It's super fun, even with my arthritis hands lol
Stamps are so fun to make! I just bought something cheap and I have paint and I think it’s really fun, you don’t need to be rich to make something fun and cool :3
i’ve actually done this in my Art class
