- Scotto’s ’72 big block-having Napalm Nova has been in the background of countless shots on our channel for a while now. Sometimes even in the background of his own new project builds. But after catching enough heat from all of us for not getting it running (and catching a new nickname, thanks to Hert), El Gigante is turning a new leaf in 2021: getting more of his cars on the road, than NOT on the road. And that starts with the Nova. So, what mechanical mountains did he have to climb to get this thing ready to shred again?

Napalm Nova's my absolute favorite Hoonigan build, it's just got great stance, the chop is *excellent* the whole thing is just absolutely fantastic, super excited to see it out and about again.

I have learned from a couple of buddy’s who are super old school and the best way to fill the cooling system is through the intake where the water neck goes. It’ll fill the block before the rad and you will have less of a chance to get a big air bubble.

I'm so happy to see the Nova finally getting the love it deserve because I love gloden age muscle cars more than any other cars with Novas being up there among my most favorite among them. I've always conaidered the Napalm Nova to be the best car in the garage and I'm stoked it finally has Scotto getting it back to being the roaring monster it was always meant to be

I remember seeing this on a trailer in 2015 in Oklahoma (Coming back from power tour probably) and just being so excited. Glad to see it running again.

An old school trick my brother taught me to bleed the cooling system is to remove a heater hose when you're filling the radiator and when you get coolant / water coming out reinstall the hose and finish filling the system. This will push any air out of the block and essentially burp it
I was so expecting one of two things to happen during the credits. One was flashing blue and red behind him, for being 'over excited' on driving it again, the second would be for it to stall out. That would have been hilarious.
This made my day, my week, my month, and maybe even my year. So glad to see the Napalm Nova running again.

There is a coolant tool called an air lift . It is one of the best tools I’ve ever purchased it illuminates any air in any coolant system creates a vacuum and it sucks to cooling it out of a bucket it is a handy tool to have around. The nova is awesome

Congrats Scotto! That's got to feel sooo good to drive the Nova again especially with the cooling hopefully sorted. It's got to be incredibly frustrating having cool projects like this but a lack of time to work on them. Plus every joker online giving you a hard time... I really dig this car and am surprised how much I like the smaller rims. I think it deserves to be more than a mere burnout car. Whatever you do, I'd like to see it street driven.

Pro tip: if your thermostat doesn't have an air vent or "jiggle pin" in it, drill an 1/8" hole in the flange to allow the air behind it to escape to the highest point in the cooling system. This makes bleeding the air from the cooling system a much easier/faster process.

Fun fact, cascade dish detergent will clean your coolant system better than anything else. Pour 1-2 scoops in and run up to temp. Then drain while hot. If needed repeat.
About damn time! A little muscle to start the year off right.
