this video was incredible, not many companies do something that feels so personal
Thank you so much for saying, I appreciate it. Best wishes, Rory
I've had my gyro ball for over 10 years. I bought it at a promotional stall at a cycling event. It's a great exercise and gives you something to do while you're lounging on the sofa - something I think we've all found ourselves doing a lot more often these days. I bring it with me everywhere, and it shows no sign of breaking. I lost the string many years ago, but I can still get it going against a flat surface. When I introduce my friends to it, they can never get it going on the first few tries. If you just stumbled across this video, or if you're looking to rehabilitate an injured wrist or arm, stick with it! Be patient - once you understand the rhythm of spinning, you won't forget - it's like riding a bike. Like the man said, it's hard to describe, but you can tell it works because you can feel that lactic burn in your forearms.
I'm frankly shocked this isn't more of a mainstay of rehabilitation. It's brilliant.
This guy is amazing. That silky smooth, I mean smoooooth voice, perfect complexion, he could be in movies.
Now you see, THIS is why I make these videos! :-) Thanks Lainey, you've gone and made my day buddy (thumbs up emoji here), BR Rory
go take a cold shower.
I ordered this product 2 weeks ago because I am a photographer for the outdoor industry; and I now have tendinitis in both elbows. The last thing I want to do is have surgery. Almost all of my jobs require me to quickly grab my Canon 1Dx equipped with a 70-200 zoom lens and shoot quickly and proficiently. This camera system weighs about 4.5 pounds. After using the Powerball for just a few days, I can already see a difference in my stability from my upper arm to my wrists. Why did I not know about this product years ago! This is not a advertisement. This tiny little object will save my career! Thank you Rory for guiding me through this process all the way from Ireland.
Rotate your wrist not moving your arm at all. That helped me get it finally. You're right a very unique feel as it spins! So cool. With arthritis in my wrists this was a workout just holding the thing! Awesome. I totally thought it was rubbish before when I didn't understand.
The device is wonderful, had one for years. I have encountered persons who do have difficulty getting in sync. Having someone who’s adept at helps. Well worth it for sure. Don’t give up
Thank you for this instruction. I finally got it after your explanation
I feel this guy would be great at telling stories! He has a great voice!
Thank you 👍
Since the UA-cam came out, I have never commented on any video. Today, just to praise your voice and information delivery, simply outstanding. Silky smooth voice. Very coherent. You should be in movies or crime thrillers. A+
What do I do if the ball doesn't have any arrows? When I roll it with my thumbs, I can't feel any resistens ( like a toy car) on any direction. 😫
Just purchased the Titan Pro, what a beast! Quality piece of kit, and I love the personal touch and customer service from the guys at Powerball!
Thank you for your order and kind words Mike, we greatly appreciate it and hope you'll enjoy a lifetime of benefit from this unique device.
With my best wishes, Rory
@Shadowforce10 Oh? Please send us a quick emailon this - do you think there is a fault in the winding mechanism or is it simply that you're not managing to get in sync / phase with the spinning rotor after you wind and release and it's dying in your hand? (It's like a hula hoop...be 0.5 sec out of phase and it'll fall to the floor...have you watched this video? Please let us know, thanks so much. Best wishes, Rory
The company I work for - BeamNG - bought these for everyone on the team for Christmas! I thought I had to roll it on my desk to spin it up, and then didn't know I had to encourage the gyroscopic motion! This video has helped us all figure it out and we're all exhausted from it now hahaha, this thing is really fantastic, especially for those of us who sit at our desks most of the day! Thanks a lot for making it :)
Two of my favorite products are now intersecting one another.
excellent video , I bought an autostart and did not realise how to do it until watched this video , thanks
I did it, thank you. Not very fast yet, weak wrists with RSI. I will practice daily and hopefully build up strength. Once again thank you.
Thank you for this video. I was about to send it back, till I discovered the video. Now I get the move and get the benefits
Ah, I did think I had rubbish! Thanks for teaching me how to use this thing! Definitely know when you have it right. The hula hoop reference is on point. Thanks again.
I've got the gyro ball, and my God this thing is so gnarly. Works my forearms, wrists and hands like noting I've ever seen.
Brilliant video I actually bought this a year ago randomly as a prehab to keep my wrists strong but couldn’t actually get it to work. Fast forward to now I my broke my arm and needed to strengthen up my wrist again and this video helped get it to work and it will help my recovery process . Legend.
You are why we get up each morning. Simple as. Thank you for writing and letting us know, I am delighted you have had this beneficial experience with this wonderful device. Best wishes, Rory
This is an amazing product! I’ve been injured off and on over the years due to tendinitis, or tennis elbow. I’ve had physical therapy for it only to return to injuries (both elbows). I was recently out of working out for 3 months, doing my usual therapy and tried the Powerball after a friend told me how it helped his golfers elbow. In just 2 months of doing this for 2 minutes a day, I’m back in the gym and doing amazing! And my forearms are more defined! I highly recommend this and wish I knew about this when playing baseball when I was younger!
That's what we really love to read Mike, thanks so much! Best wishes, Rory
Just got mine a couple days ago. It’s amazing. My wife and two sons have all had a go at it and we’re all blown away at how effective it is. It doesn’t take long to get that lactic acid build up and have fatigue set in, but I know it’s going to pay big dividends in finger, hand, wrist, forearm and upper arm/shoulder, strength and endurance. I can’t believe I did not know about this remarkable technology a long time ago.
Thank you this video really helped.
Please allow me to offer a testimonial to the benefits of the Powerball.
I'm 70 years old, and for the last 10 I've had increasing problems with arthritis in my hands (rheumatoid) and shoulders (osteo). It especially concerned me as I've played electric bass professionally since I was in my teens, and I'm still out there working clubs and festivals. I was thinking the arthritis was going to put an end to my playing...and then I ran across a mention of the Powerball in (of all things) a book on pistol marksmanship. (The author, Chris Sajnog, recommended it as a tool for developing one's grip and recoil control.) I've only been using the Powerball for a week or so, but the benefit has absolutely amazed me. Finger dexterity, wrist and forearm comfort, shoulder flexibility--all are much improved.
This gadget is a modest amount of money _very_ well spent, in my experience.
Guys if you have problems with speeding it up after launch try moving your wrist right 180 degrees (at that moment powerball is at top) and then move it again to base position (180 deg to left, so your powerball is at bottom) and keep repeating. That's the only way I got it spinning. Works even for low RPMs.
Definitely a learning curve to getting it spinning fast but that first time is super cool.
Yes, it's certainly a 'wow' moment the first time you feel those gyroscopic forces kick in for sure! Thanks for your comment Gregory, best wishes, Rory
Thanks, Rory, for the video and your person to person help. Made all the difference! You're great!
A pleasure Irvin, glad I could help out! Best wishes, Rory
Thank you for this video. Read the instructions, but could not get it to work. 1/2 way through the video I got it. If I had this thing 70 years ago I’ld have Mickey Mantle’s forearms today. I can feel this much more that any of the weight training I used to do (except for the weight and rope on a wooden handle). This contraption can be used while on my daily walks while the weight on the rope is not very mobile outside the gym.
Thanks so much Anthony, really appreciate you taking the time to post your feedback here, delighted to read the positive comments (but not surprised of course! :-)
With best wishes, Rory
You hit the nail on the head when you said hula hoop ive just managed about 10 minutes and I can hardly type 👍
You're officially part of The Powerball Club so Stephen, there can be no going back now! :-) Best wishes, Rory
Nice video that helped me make it work with my right hand (main hand), and hopefully the left will follow xD
Great tutorial.... I cud not roll the ball for more that 10 Sec.... after he explained ... I managed to roll it to the end of the video and now my hand hurts... lol
Thanks! Just ordered mine today! For anyone thinking about purchasing this unique device they have great customer service! Will update once I start using it.
Many thanks for your kind compliment and business, it is greatly appreciated - I hope you'll really enjoy your new Powerball when it arrives. With my best wishes, Rory
@@rpmpower Hello Rory, Thank you for your reply. I got my powerball a few days ago and I am getting better at keeping the powerball going, so far I love it! It is an interesting product and afterwards I feel a nice pump on my arms.
I have a question, when switching the powerball from one hand to the other do I need to stop it and start over or can I just switch it over to my other hand.
It seems everytime I switch it over it clacks a few times until I'm able to get to the rythym going again. I have even tried slowing it down before switching over but it still clacks a few times. I'm asking because I was curious to know if this causes wear and tear on the powerball, even though its more natural for me to go from one hand to the other a few times over, but if its better I stop and start over I would do that instead. Thank you.
Greetings and thanks for your message (I am sorry for my delayed reply).
In this case, it is not necessary for you to stop the ball before changing hands - I know the noise you're describing, it's just the momentary noise that the axle makes as the 'Y' axis switches direction.
In the older models, this would actually cause a little wear inside (on the rotor support band at the points where it supports the steel axle at both ends), but on these latest models (280Hz series) the shock resistant shell in these models, combined with the harder material we use for the washers that reinforce the rotor support band inside, ensures a far more durable rotor support band and shell platform so any wear effect caused by rapid 'Y' axis rotational switching (as is happening when you swap hands) is minimal to non-existent (of course, if 'Y' axis rotation switches from clockwise to anticlockwise violently then it's not good...but "gentle" switching like you describe is ok).
Hope this helps!
With best wishes, Rory
@@Blueflame252
@@Blueflame252 your biggest concern when switching hands should be to not touch the fast spinning rotor. If you do, at best you could stop it or slow it down, and at worse it could hurt your finger (not badly, but still why not avoid it?)
I got angry because of my lack of technique. This video is great, also auto start is a blessing. Thanks Rory for the walkthrough.
Thanks to your video instruction and demo, I am starting to get the hang of it. I didn't realize you need to have a slow wind up to get it going. I was trying to rotate quickly at the beginning and kept noticing it dying over and over again. I'll try it a few more times and if it works for me, I'll keep the product.
Hi Victor, how did you get on? It's just a matter of getting in phase with the rotor and when the rotor is spinning slowly (at the start), it's much easier and much more likely you'll get in phase/sync by using slow, rhythmical, lazy rotations of the wrist (about 1 rotation per second) and then increase them as the speed builds (you'll know you're in phase simply as you'll feel the resistance fight you...it's a surreal feeling...gyroscopic precession...if you don't get in sync then the rotor will stop after 15/20 seconds and you'll be thinking 'man, this is broken' when it's not and you're probably just 0.5sec out of time...practice...practice...like riding a bike, hard to teach with a video or instructions but oh so easy once you 'feel it' yourself!) BR Rory
Yay! I finally got it. I was about ready to send it back. Thanks for the tutorial. 😎
And you, dear Sherry, are why I made that video :-) (Glad you didn't send it back, it's a great product eh?) Best wishes, Rory
Jus got one, its absolutely fantastic! I wish i knew about this thing sooner!
I'm really pleased with mine but don't think it can't help my Herberden's node on my little finger. Also growing on other fingers of the hand I broke. Any tips/suggestions?
Sophie, good day, thank you for your message.
It's important to keep your joints mobile without overstressing them. Powerball stimulates blood flow and synovial fluid production to help joints to 'slide and glide' as it were, and so, technically, it ought to be helping this condition also.
However, these nodes are at the very outer joint on the fingers (near the tips) and so it's a difficult area to rehab from the standard spin action you're likely doing if you've followed our videos.
There is one video that I'd like you to consider watching which specifically targets the fingers;
ua-cam.com/video/R1gD644ZBlA/v-deo.html
This encourages you to hold the ball by the finger tips as opposed to the standard way of burying it into the palm and so will focus the resistance on the tips and should be useful in this case Sophie (gentle, slow spinning required here as you're holding the ball by the tips only).
Albeit I'd suggest supplementing any Powerball use with some basic squeeze balls and/or finger stretcher bands to encourage broader use of the finger flexors to really try drive the synovial fluid production and blood flow.
Be careful not to overwork the fingers; your joints are inflamed and while Powerball and the other two products are non-impact you'll nonetheless need to be mindful of the existing wear on the cartilage and ensure you work your way up slowly in any exercise program you undertake.
Hope this helps and with best wishes, Rory
Wow, thank you guys for a great tutorial. Didnt know that my gyro ball winds up, thought i would break it! You guys made the tutorial that helped me! Thanks!
Is this thing really helps with my skinny wrist? Kinda insecure with my skinny hand
Oh my god thank you for this. I wish the little pamphlet that comes with this explained not to go too fast at the start or to release it and wait for it to start rotating before starting to rotate.
'
what country make this powerball with LCD show...
do have a mini LED light inside the LCD...
come with a battery or power feed by winding ball
Very good! I did not get that I had to spin it real fast and true enough it keeps going
Your relaxing voice reminds me of that painter Bob Ross. Awesome video. I've ordered the same one as you use in this video. Can't wait to give it a try...
Hi Ronald, thanks so much for your message and your valued order, I believe you'll be very pleased once you get to experience it for real...it's an absolute revelation. Best wishes, Rory
I have a question, I know we aren't supposed to be using our arms, but is there a specific arm posture that we need to use this? I want to be sure not to injure my arms. I've been holding my arms straight out but I noticed in this video you have your arms bent. I'm just very paranoid about injuring myself any further. I love this product, but I want to make sure I'm using it correctly.
Greetings Kevin, thank you for your question and purchase. Please visit the videos section in the powerballs .com website - it gives good instruction on perfect spin form and also advises on various arm positions based on the part of the upper limb you're targetting. Hope this helps and with kind regards, Rory
The LED version, does it have batteries inside? Like when it dies it dies or are we able to change the batteries?
Greetings and thanks for your question. The 280Hz range are all induction powered - both the LCD display and the rotor LEDs (assuming the model has an LCD and rotor LEDs of course, some have neither) so no batteries required on 280Hz models. 250Hz models with LEDs are also induction powered on the rotor LEDs but require two small batteries for the LCD counter 👍
ive hurt the outside tendon of my wrist from tennis. Hope this helps
Hi Cory, yes indeed, it'll help immensely. Remember, if the limb is injured, it's not about high-speed spins, it's more about longer, slower spins (10 - 15 minutes each time at slow, steady speeds) - that will bring lots of blood and oxygen into the tissue and promote far more rapid healing. Just ensure you don't exceed a comfortable spin speed, only you will know what that is. Relief will be immediate. Best wishes, Rory
mine actually broke the autostart doesnt work anymore, do you know if i can fix it myself?
Hi Daniel, if it's one of our Powerball models, it'll typically have a web address on the grip band; simply send an email to info@ that web address along with an image of the ball you've got and we'll see how we can help (a new rotor support band with autostart mechanism sounds like the order of the day to fix this). Best wishes, Rory
8500rpm in my first try, is that ok?👌 I can’t hold my hand, what a workout, exactly what I needed! Thanks 🙏
A good score indeed....for a young teenage girl :-)))
No, seriously, it's ok, but once you get the co-ordination sorted to auto pilot, and have been using it for a week or two, you'll see those spin speeds creep up to 10,000....11,000+
Anything above 11,000 is respectable for an adult male...12,000 puts you into the top 5%...13,000 is top 1% while 14% and above is super elite level but can be reached with dedication and long practice.
One tip: don't over do it until your muscles familiarise themselves with this new form of exercise...while Powerball is a physio recommended treatment for upper limb RSI, it can also potentially cause RSI if you spin too hard and too fast before warming up or before your muscles are strong enough to support those high speeds (think of it as picking up a dumbbell that's too heavy for your arm...you'll tear those tendons trying to lift the dumbbell just as you'll hurt them by trying to go flat out with your Powerball before they're ready...it's not a toy!)...spin slowly and gradually build speed...as you do, your tendons will turn to "steel" and keep your arms pain free and strong from finger tip to shoulder!

Thanks for the warning ⚠️ I’ll take it easy for the first few weeks (hey, I wish I was a teenage girl, next week I’m turning 45 years old , that’s why I need to stay in shape way more than I ever did. 🤣🤣🤣 I hope my forearms develop resistance and endurance, most go kart drivers that I know have to stop driving as soon as their forearms get tired, and that can easily happen after a short period of driving, especially if you are driving on the limit, which is what we all do. It would be go to advertise the powerball in the karting world. I’ve found out about the powerball after a friend suggested it to me, otherwise I didn’t know they existed.) Thanks! 🙏
Hi, I need your help! My powerball display is working properly (even changed batteries) but it’s not counting the spins! Does not matter how much we use, the display shows 0. Someone has any idea what’s going on? Thanks!
Hello Maria, thanks for your message. Please send a message to info@ the web address printed on the grip band of your Powerball and include your order number and ideally an image of the ball so that we can correctly determine the model you've got. Our service team will look after it for you from there. Best wishes, Rory
I nearly gave up but watching your video couple of times I managed to get it going, I am sure after trying out few times I will get the sync technique, Brilliant video such a nice personal touch. Big Thankyou
Thank you for saying, it means a lot. Best wishes, Rory
Thank you for the Video, i got it to go, it has a lot of power, it's a constant fight to hold onto it :)
Great video and awesome product. Thanks for the help
just got the fusion , this vid great help , thanks
Sir is it good for hand fingers pls advise??
Greetings and thanks for your question. Yes, especially if you extend the ball outward from the palm such that it's supported by the fingertips around the grip band; this places additional pressure on the finger flexors which are more actively engaged in trying to maintain a grip on the ball around its circumference.
In such cases, the spin speed will be lower than if the user has the ball 'buried' more deeply into the palm (ie, the normal way to hold the ball), where it can be held more securely by the hand and have the entirety of all fingers envelop the shell.
Overall, a really great product for the fingers, hand, wrist, forearm and shoulders. Hope this answer was helpful. Best wishes, Rory
I don't get the bright blue light anymore. why?
Massive help. I was doing 4 turns not 4 FULL turns hahah
Thank you, this only video that was actually helpful in showing me how to use this
I roll, and roll, and roll...and feel the ball inside os loose a bit...my thumbs start to be tired and that doesnt work
When I teach people how to use mine I anyways tell them to imagine they're swirling a glass of wine, most people relate to that analogy of movement and get it on the first or second try.
Mine was bought used, I think it's broken. There's no resistance in the 'wind up'. :(
Greetings, is yours an autostart ball like the one in the video (ie, does it have two black tracks on the rotor surface) or is it a cord start ball like the one in this video:
ua-cam.com/video/BKva0VxtZDk/v-deo.html
If it's an autostart then it should have resistance in the wind up for sure, please let us know, best wishes Rory
God left arm is so hard to get the rhythm! I have right arm down pact
Mine doesn’t work but i don’t know Why
Thanks, it was a great help
Thank you!! I just got my powerball today and couldn't figure it out.
THANK YOU. I THOUGHT MINE WAS BROKEN!!!!! 💔
I don’t get it. I bought one and have tried and tried. Probably just going to throw it in the trash
I listen to this as ASMR.
Interesting comment, why so?
Mine not working.
