- AUGUST 2016 - Megatron’s interaction with 9 year old cancer survivor. We celebrated this year at Universal Studios Hollywood. This amazing interaction with Megatron was the highlight of our day. Who knew Megatron could be such a softie even if it was short lived.
BACKGROUND - On March 10th, 2010, one month after Riley’s 3rd birthday, Riley was diagnosed with a Wilm’s tumor a very rare form of Cancer, AKA “A kidney killer.” She had emergency surgery to remove a grapefruit size tumor that had completely obliterated her right kidney. Riley went through 20 weeks of chemotherapy. She never lost her spirit or her AMAZING smile.
On Friday August 20th, 2010 our family finally heard the news we had waited for months with bated breath to here…”Riley’s is in REMISSION.”
August 20th will forever be a special day for Riley because it’s her “Life Day”. You may be asking yourself what is a “Life Day”? A “Life Day” is when a cancer patient is told they are in remission and then eventually cancer free. It marks the day that they were given their life back after fighting Cancer.
We started the tradition of going to Disneyland when she reached her first full year of remission back in 2011. All of us family members wear T-shirts that say something along the lines of “My (Niece, Daughter, Sister or Granddaughter) kicked Cancer’s Booty. # of Years in Remission”. Over the years it continues to amaze all of us the profound effect these shirts have on all the visitors and employees of both Disneyland & Universal Studios. It is truly beyond words. Every couple minutes Riley gets a high-five, an enthusiastic CONGRATULATIONS or a hug. The human spirit can simply be amazing!!!
We have met so many extraordinary people throughout her journey to finally becoming cancer free. Thank you time infinity to the infinite power to all of those who did what they did to make all of Riley’s Life Day Celebrations that much more amazing.
So what is the best thing that happened in your life?

The actor took a moment. Little Riley touched his heart and he paused. He sure got quite a smile out of her!

Technically... she was 9 years old when this video was taken last summer. She was diagnosed 1-month after her 3rd birthday with a rare kidney cancer. She turned 10 in February.

I can image there being someone there complaining about the way 'Megatron' spoke about Riley and her cancer battle.
He's still got to stay in character; and if anything it nearly made me fucking tear up when he praised her for her courage, and promotion to lieutenant. He could've easily taken it too far or refused to break character at all.
Either way, congratulations to her and thanks to Megatron for being compassionate today.

For one, over 500 people saw Christ after his death at the same time, Dead Sea Scrolls, House of David inscription, multiple Roman documents confirming not only the existence of Christ, but about how the things said in gospels about his actions are accurate, and the simple fact the life cannot exist without a God, whether you use the Big Bang theory version with the first sub atom or finite energy, neither of which could not occur without a creator to set things in motion.

I love videos of some guy in a Megatron suit talking to people. It's funny to hear what Megatron says to people, but In all seriousness, being a 6 year cancer survivor is truly an amazing thing. I know the girl will never read this comment, but I will still leave them this. Riley, being a 6 year+ cancer survivor is a blessing, I wish you the best of luck to whatever trials await you in the future. Never stop believing and I hope the best and more for you and the ones you care for. Good luck to whatever is in store for you, and live life to its fullest.

Valerie Collier it is very appreciated, Im sinply glad to know another person has beaten cancer and they are doing well. my aunt was diagnosed with cancer a few years back and she has made it through kimo treatment and has made a full recovery. I am glad to hear Riley is doing well and I wish happy days for the future.

My 8 year old daughter is 2 years stable herself. We travelled from the UK to Florida for treatment. Hoping to go back if/when covid... allows. And Universal Studios is high on the list.

Sorry if this sounds dumb but, Is she surviving cancer? or she almost got cancer??
She had cancer, she had surgery to remove a tumor the size of grapefruit that ate her right kidney. She went through 20 weeks of chemo at the age of 3. Once all her chemo was done final scans were done to find out if all thr cancer was gone and it was. It's been gone since August 10th, and 2010, her Life Day. She's continued to have numerous scans over the years to make sure it's still gone. I hope this answers your question.
