There is an ongoing thing with Gregg that he just hates music. Films that feature music as part of the story are his least favorite. He called 'Whiplash' a concert movie and he said that the music should've been taken out of 'A Star is Born'. And don't get him started on the One Direction movie. . .
it's not that tough, if you're a theater boy so you're unable to figure things out yourself, you just take a class on how to mentally focus and get in the zone during fking hilarious moments where you want to burst out laughing. It takes practice but isn't that tough plus he probably has signals to the producers to cut away from him when he's about to burst out laughing not to mention those "we'll be back" breaks are definitely mostly when the entire troop is in stitches.
Greg Turkington is a fountain of enthusiasm. You couldn't have picked a better cohost to take it down to tinsel town. Truly the best films of a generations.
Yes: The point of this video is that Billy Crystal used to do songs like this when HE hosted the Oscars. And this guy looks up to Crystal. What an honor

"maybe later we'll have a reprise of that song" is the understatement of the century
This assessment will stay with me forever
I don't get it
And I know things going to go really well is the overestimation of the century

@@thomasb7347 I would! Still!!
@@thomasb7347I’ve had the Oscar fever for over 3 years and it shows no signs of slowing down. Extremely concerning for my health!
Gregg just barely keeping it together.
Mark sure isn't.
Gregg is a professional, not like Tim over there flubbing his lines.
@@zeldarms typical gregghead
Working so hard, he's breaking a sweat.
Greggheads forever
The tapping of the pipe to the rhythm by Gregg is the only indication of Gregg enjoying a song in On Cinema canon.
Probably only because it's about movies.

HOLY SHIT, That wasn't like an anger or annoyed tapping either .. he was doing it to the rhythm so he was legit enjoying it.
@@BenMoranFilms lol he hates documentaries and made for TV movies too
Here's a song about oscar
FT T oscer*
@@hanklarkin4217 It's spelled both ways
I want this played as they lower my casket
Oh man that’s funny
Tim coming in at the wrong time twice with “who-“ immediately followed by the terrible midi solo was almost too much for my lungs to handle
Tim really knows how to get the most out of a C major chord.
The 0.8 second image of Mark as W.C. Fields in his tuxedo is priceless.
And it looks like he's cracking XD
(1:32)
Tim saying "my energy is great" like he's an old man in a nursing home or something lmao
Idk. That sounds more like middle age shit. Middle age people are always obsessed about vitality.
Elderly people take it as it comes.
How Heidecker keeps it together doing this is beyond me

i got the who
"Who's gonna lose..." slays me.
Hahaha it flips the script! Oscar always focuses on the winners not the losers
I always picture David Byrne singing this
It reminds me a little bit of Uh-oh Loves Comes to Town
Omg, absolutely
Yes! It reminds me of his Psycho Killer performance in Stop Making Sense
That would actually be amazing
If David is reading this, and I'd bet he is, please do it!
Gregg is trying hard not to laugh during this.
The Mona Lisa smile 🤣
That 2 second cut to Proksch is gold 😘
This song will be stuck in my head forever.
FOR REAL why is it such an earworm!?
I come back to it from time to time when it happens
I've sang it for years, I'm always grateful that my girlfriend understands it's such a catchy affliction🙏
I’ve been waking up with it in my head all week. Been singing it to my cat.
at this point it isnt even a song. it's an anthem
1:16 is as good as it gets for unityheads
Billy Crystals would be honored at this beautiful tribute
Writer, actor, director, producer...Billy Crystals

The pipe-tap choreography is mesmerizing
0:41 the camera slowly drooping downward is a lovely touch 😆
1:12 makes me think that this is the first time Gregg is hearing the tune. I have no idea how i could keep it together if i were him lol
I love how you can see Gregg SEETHE at how great this performance was. Sublime.
i absolutely love seeing golden comedians like these 2 nearly breaking character....

that tiny cut over to Mark is just perfect
Is it bad that I watch this like once a day
No, not at all. We can celebrate Oscars birthday year round.
Yes it's bad, I advice you to watch this at least twice a day
This video and the one with all the Oscer Fever versions
WHO'S GONNA WINN WHO'S GONNA LOOSE? I am so darned excited
I'll never forget when Whoopi Goldberg lost the Oscars Championship in round 3

Tim Heidecker is my favorite human man
This is such an incredible song by a host who just wants the audience to ENJOY! So refreshing!
i just keep coming back here...... i can't stop.
yeah here again.
I love the "Here we go" followed by the most ugly fake guitars I've ever heard.
Love how the biggest tell for how hard mark is breaking is how violently his wine is shaking
This truly was the right way to kick things off and get everyone in a good mood.
Amazing that we're still fortunate enough to receive these year after year
Write it once, repackage it forever = Winning formula

@@neonfroot Very strange comment
Top ten all time jam.
it’s now 2021. It’s a fact that Tim And Gregg are now the only people who can save the Oscars. I wish I was joking.
This is the catchiest song I've ever heard!!!!!
WHO'S WATCHING THIS TO GET HYPED FOR OSCER 2021?
Nobody cares about the oscars anymore
1:33 Mark breaking
Gregg stood there sincerely in his hobbit outfit with that fucking pipe is perfect
Hopefully this is the year Oscer recognizes The Hobbit
Gregg came sooo close to breaking at 1:20
I see that fever and that hobbit pipe tapping and I can't get enough of it! I like to have fun!
I love how Tim feels the need to kill any enthusiasm Gregg might have had for this event lol
PUT THAT AWAY

1:15 that's true love
The beginning sounds very familiar to the music from the bomb-omb battlefield level in Super Mario 64
That's because Nintendo 64 music was MIDI just like this track. Also, I love flying out the cannon with the wing cap.

I love that there was such an effort to make the musical number relevant in this one

His drunken rendition later in the episode with mark completely losing it is my fav.
I love the joke that they never know whether to call it 'the oscars' or just 'oscar'
Or in Gregg’s case, “Viva el Oscer!” It can be spelled both ways according to him.
Oscar= man who decides the awards
Oscars= the awards
"I know everything's gonna go really well..."
Mark cracking up and not even TRYING to hide it. Just staring right down the barrel at about 1.33 with uncontrollable laughter 😂
Gregg actively trying not to laugh and avoid eye contact with Tim at 0:35 is too good.
