    Bought this kit on your recommendation. I never found this company when googling the parts I wanted, but this kit is exactly what I was looking for. Cheers mate
    p.s. I actually have used your vids for a ton of shit. Like a snorkel, master cyl, suspension diagnosis, transmission pulling, the list goes on. So thanks for keeping your rig alive, it keeps mine going too.

    I used Paul's kit on my 2000 XJ (which I sadly no longer own) and it was fantastic. I immediately noticed quicker starting after installing the cables, and the electrical system seemed happier under large power loads like running multiple off-road lights and accessories at a time.

    Use a self-tapping bolt and mount the "battery to fender" cable to the vertical part of the inner fender. That is where the 97+ grounds are mounted to avoid hood clearance issues.

    I just emailed Paul. Too bad he does not have an order link on his page. As usual you find all the cool stuff. Thanks again Nick for your very informative videos!

    It's nice he includes military battery terminals. I have them on my Jeep for my winch and other accessories. I actually used both sides of that long through bolt in the back, just held the square with a pair of vice grips.

    Take the negative cable off first...won't short your tool to ground in a fabulous light show that way.

    Just bought these myself for my 95, love them so far. I'll probably get a set for my grandpa who has a 90 MJ. Also, I really dig the channel man, cheers.

      Wait what? How did that happen? It melted or what? I love my other vehicles for the music ive installed, but i plan on doing. More electrical mods, on my xj for off road. More than i would normally do for a sound system. (Bigger battery. Bigger alternator) Maybe 2 . lol Then after that maybe I'll ll get some new speakers new stereo equip etc. If I i can find the short in the rear fenders by then that is. Lol

    I did the same with my 01 XJ... a big 4 upgrade with a 2 gauge that grounds out the alternator i didnt upgrade my engine block ground though which I'll probably do next.

      Im bout to order for my 01 right now lol. I wish i could find another threaded line to the firewall though, but almost everey xj ive seen their in pretty bad shape. Threaded line is great for the movement, but not the moisture it recieves being so close to the windshield.

    Interesting that he's using weld wire in his kits. I've always heard weld wire is not a good choice for 12v DC systems, and that it's far inferior to OFC & OFHC copper cable...
    Weld wire is definitely cheaper though, so maybe it's a cost to profit situation.

      Haha, that is a TPS umbrella. With the HO swap the vulnerable part sticks up and the hood vents drip right on it during the rain. Keeps it dry and working.

    I’m just wondering why you don’t use any electrical grease on the terminals?

    • @NickInTimeFilms
      @NickInTimeFilms  6 років тому

      I use to use dielectric grease before, but I'm not sure if it helps or not. Seems to attract lots of dirt and technically that stuff is designed to prevent electrical contact, not help it.

    • @natekelly4667
      @natekelly4667 6 років тому +1

      NickInTimeFilms that was my thoughts as well. I was just wondering what you thought. I used it a lot in residential work but it seems to make a mess under the hood. I’ve had extensive conversations about it with no winner. Anyway still love the vids man.

      its not getting through the grease though....think of it as waxing...its a protective layer to prevent corrosion...just because it doesn't look pretty after a while doesn't mean it is not helping

    • @NickInTimeFilms

      Still doing the job. He's upgraded to a different style fuse block now since there were some issues with this style. Otherwise it's still running strong.

  • @mikep95133

    Hi Nick. I wonder why Paul went with bare copper lugs instead of plated ones? Are his lugs soldered to the cables? Your battery hold down plate will short to the positive terminal in an accident or even a hard bump on the trail. Should be a lot more clearance.

    Can you use petroleum jelly on the battery terminals to stop corrosion?

    • @NickInTimeFilms
      @NickInTimeFilms  6 років тому +1

      From what the internet say, seems like you could. But Dielectric grease is more commonly used. www.quora.com/Is-petroleum-jelly-safe-to-use-on-electronics-Is-it-an-electrical-conductor

    Nick what is up with the over exposed footage my dude?

    • @NickInTimeFilms
      @NickInTimeFilms  6 років тому

      Good question. My camera phone is all sorts of messed up after an update a while ago. It always looks under-exposed while filming, Active Autofocus is terrible and I have to constantly refocus when I move, audio is always quiet with a bit too much bass, notifications aren't auto-muted while recording, and the battery dies after 2-3 hours of use so overall it's rather obnoxious to get anything done. Need a new phone all together but Verizon isn't properly supporting the HTC U11 so I'm not sure what I'm gonna do.
