I definitely need to try Amber Teutonic now! I've been trying to hunt down frags for my non fraghead parents to enjoy, and that sounds like it might be right up their alley. They are absolute nature nerds, and, as they grow older, they seem to get more and more into hiking, so something natural and outdoorsy sounds like something they'd love.
Some highlights of this week:
Guerlain Lhomme Ideal. I havent worn this one in a while, and my lord. It's the EDT, and I honestly forgot how much I love it. I got it as a Christmas present last year after smelling a vial from Scentbox, and it's every bit magical as it was when I first smelled it. Rich, creamy, sweet, nutty, elegant, and classy. It smells amazing and it lasts for ages on me, and, honestly, I feel like the EDT isn't talked about much in the community. Still an amazing fragrance, and one I'll always have in the collection!
Coach for Men layered with Afnan Turathi Blue. I love both of these frags, I love the apple juicy freshness from Coach, and when layered with the rich, honeyed citrus from TB, it lasts all day! It's such an amazing combination as both frags do similar things, but they make up for what each other are lacking. Coach brings that watery freshness, which is further enhanced from the sweetness of TB. Another bonus of this combo is that they're both super cheap for fragrances! Definitely give it a try if you have them, I spray Coach on first (also any other shower gel scent) then TB on second, as it's the stronger performer.
Maison M@rgiella Beach Walk. I have a lot of frags from the Replica line, and I originally wanted to wear By the Fireplace that night! I randomly reached for a bottle and sprayed it on, expecting a nice, rich boozy blast of warm and cozy chestnut, but instead I got... A beach, with sand, and the smell of sunscreen as seagulls chirp (do they chirp? Idk) in the background. I picture a woman with a straw hat and a nice bathing suit, her hair blowing in the wind. For all of my childhood, I would go up to Ogunquit in Maine every year to enjoy the old fashioned candy store after a nice hike, then enjoy bagels on the beach first thing in the morning. We always went to the same hotel, a basic hotel, but still one that is near and dear to my heart. I picture that same beach, with the sand still wet from the tide just having regressed, with the sun still shining. A very nice piece of the line. I proceeded to spray on BTF the next day, and enjoyed the memories of Ogunquit with Beach walk.
That’s a thoughtful gift for your parents. Also beach walk sounds amazing! I lol’d when you asked if seagulls chirp. Great descriptions.
The Noire 29 is an absolutely beautiful fragrance. Must have for me.

Love Himalaya, especially this time of year. I agree that Pegasus works year-round, but like many scents, go easy on the trigger in heat.
No theme this week... but needed to "borrow" 5 sprays of the new Thomas Kosmala frags on mall walking days to figure out which one to buy for him to sign at the discussion/meet&greet at our Dillard's this week. I bought Wild Stride and Star Chaser, btw, and he was pretty awesome. And they had someone there to etch the glass along his signatures. Kudos to Thomas and Dillard's -- it was a very nice event.

@@gerardgeorge No 1 is a great take on classic neroli, No 4 is compared to BR540, but I find with No 4 I'm less prone to nose-blindness, allowing me to enjoy it more. You might like No 5 -- I've seen you appreciate unisex and even women's floral musks, and the incence and oud make this one outstanding to my nose, though the florals pull a little too feminine on my skin versus the strip unfortunately. No 4 Sport and Neon are fantastic flankers to No 4. And Star Chaser and Wild Stride from his new collection are really awesome to me, Star Chaser being more mass appealing, and Wild Stride being a fantastic green fragrance.

@@gerardgeorge it's pretty good but hard to describe. It's in the vein of afnan snoi, but way smoother and denser and green but not as green. It's changing dramatically right now so I'll need some wears to get some air in the bottle and some time to let it oxidize and see if it's easier to describe lol.
There's something chemically aromatic in here though that Drakkar Noir and actual Aventus both have (that I've never smelled in a clone) that smells like a country club or gym locker room and that is rather enjoyable even though I have no idea what it is I'm smelling. Good times

Dasein winter nights is one I never hear anyone mention. I like green foresty scents, this one literly smells like you lit a bonfire in the forest in the middle of winter. Not for everyone but definitely one I like. They nailed the feeling of a winter forest bonfire with this one

Last week was clone extravaganza. Had a bunch of samples from Scentual Obsessions. Most of them were clones of Louis Vuitton best known fragrances (afternoon swim, pacific chill etc.) Wore Hawas, Fraghead's Asylum, Alexandria Visionary(Louis Vuitton Imagination). Tommy Hilfiger vibrant summer, Prada L'Homme L'Eau, Hermes Voyage
Love it. Still need to try the house.

Been trying a bunch of parfums de marly fragrances. I think pegasus might be my overall favourite right now. Its versatility helps.

Sorry Gerard but my favourite Creed is GIT which I've been using for years, I keep a few clones for day to day use but pull out the OG for special occasions.. I'm rocking cedrat Boise intense today... Love it too..

Pegasus and Gucci Guilty Elixir De Parfum as VERY similar but they start to split off into the later dry down and that's where Pegasus keeps me coming back

I got a Le Labo sample pack. They are great. Dossier make clones that are good they have a Nior 29 and other ones that are really awesome! At a good price.
