    Some people might think “cooking it in a pan defeats the purpose of it being instant food” but if you REALLY think of it, even though this method involves stovetop cooking, it’s still considered instant because making tteokbokki from scratch is such a more detailed process! Anyway this was so helpful! I will be making it like this since I don’t own a microwave :D

    Can confirm this works out better guys, before I had microwaved and they were so hard.... but doing this made the rice cakes really soft

      Those other videos also kept microwaving and the rice cake looked so hard. The comments also didn’t said anything about the texture so I thought I’m the only dealing with the same problem lol

    I tried it once with boiling hot water, it was so hard and spicy and watery and I couldnt even complete half of it! I bought it again and I'm going to try your method, I'll update this comment when I do!

    I cooked mine long time ago and i used microwave.. the result was my tteokbokki wasn’t soft it was really hard and I couldn’t eat it at all… im going to try your method and i hope the result is going to be a success.

      You should definitely try cooking it on the stove. The tteokbokki will be soft after it is boiled 😁

      Its best to maybe if your gonna use the microwave to pit the timer on 3 mins when I do that they become good chewy and soft and amazing i promise!!!!!

      Oh I bought two and microwave both didn't think about stove top, but this product is not good at all. Very rubbery like eating plastic with sauce.

    I tried one of these, the sauce was really good and tasty but the rice cake wasn't tasting good it had really a weird taste.
    I will try to cook it in a different way other than the microwave hopping it'll taste good👍🏻

    Omg, tysm. ❤ I was sad because I didn’t have a microwave to make it but when I use your method, the tteokbokki was amazing, it was chewy and the sauce was a little bit spicy and delicious.

      Yung cheese flavor lasa talaga syang cheese, if di ka masyado cheese lover baka mejo overpowering yung cheese nya for you. I suggest try mo yung Sweet and Spicy, mas malapit sa authentic flavor sya ng tteokbokki 😁

    Y'all please don't use microwave, it literally still hard as a rock and it melts the paper of the cup.
    (true CAUSE IT JUST HAPPENED TO ME.😭)
    So it just better to use the stove, hope this helps!

    Lol. You should mix the powder with cold/tap water first. Then you put the tteok /sticky rice. Then you start cooking

    Hey so my topokki has liquid sauce not powder is it still the same thing as powder or it isn't?

      It’s almost the same. You still need to add a little water. Then boil until the tteokbokki is soft 😊

      Do you have the same brand as the one I used in the video? As far as I know, there should be a line in the cup. which is not printed inside but just like a dent 😊 if there really isn’t any line maybe you can check what’s written in the instructions at the back of the cup, you can use the app papago if it’s not in english 😁

      I have tried the sweet and spicy flavor which has liquid sauce too and there is still a line inside. You can check the instructions at the back as well 😊

      Hello! In my honest opinion the sweet and spicy flavor is the best. The sauce is almost the same as the authentic recipe. The cheese flavor which I tried in this video is good too, but if you’re not a fan of cheese you might find the taste overwhelming 😁

      The same day i commented is the same day i ate my ttkeokbokki and i got the cheese flavor. It has small serving and the cheese taste pretty good i really enjoyed it but the price is not worth but ,the experiece i have is priceless. I actually panicked because i do not gave a microwave but thanks to google i saw you re video, thanks you re big help.
      PS: I really enjoyed the ttkeokbokki (cheese) It has little pepper spice which i really loved.
      I bought it in a korean shop(PHILIPPINES)
      It cost PHP135.00

      Yes! Any flavor is ok. You just need to boil the tteokbokki until soft :)

      You're not supposed to eat that! That's to keep the rice cakes from getting soggy and help them stay fresh 😭

      Yes you can add other ingredients too! Maybe just don’t let the sauce be too thick. You can add cabbage, fish cakes, sausages, eggs, spring onions, etc. And for me, probably best to use the sweet and spicy one if you’ll add other ingredients.

    Last three weeks ago I tried eating tteokbokki but the boiling water didn't softened the rice cakes one bit, so it was really hard. I'm trying this method tomorrow, I don't know if I can use a frying pan because we don't have a non-stick frying pan😭😭

      The tteokbokki is cooked at around 10 mins, or just until the tteokbokki is soft and chewy.
