After listening to this I realize my cravings of certain external things is futile since I will never utimately satisfy desires that keep arising ceaselessly. Thank you for the wisdom venerable Thich Nhat Hanh!

Thay's teachings are an accumulation and synthesis of 2600 years of monastic study of the mind ... 2600 years!!!
An Advaita Vedanta teacher said that one spiritial concept was debated between schools in India for 1000 years.
Kinda causes one to go to the closet and put on a cape of humility, respect, and awe.
I have so much appreciation for Thay, who dedicated his life to these teachings, making them meaningful and accessable to us.

I deeply appreciate this lesson. I believe that this way is the way I am heading. It makes more sense to me all the time but I have always felt a universal power greater than myself, a power greater and more true and loving than what I was taught. I am fortunate. The practice is where I lack. Thich Naht Hahn's talks feel gentle and true

You are welcome. I miss Thay.
I was first introduced to him and his teaching in 1997: I read an article of his in The Tennesseean Newspaper titled "Water for thirsty American."
Since that time, I have several of his books and researched and read or listen his lesson.
You are doing the best thing possible to honor him in continuing his teachings.

"View", the most important of the 10. If one is not able to overcome it, there is no chance to overcome the other nine.
Not overcome wrong view and try to deal with the others lead us right into suppressing, that means - lying. Lying to yourself and others.

    "Knowledge as obstacle for knowledge"
Sharing my views, with the intention to open someone's mind to other possibilities, I tend to get caught up in forming the knot of thinking in which I have a full and complete understanding of that knowledge myself. But, perhaps I don't have a deep enough understanding of what it is I am trying to share, if I find my words backfiring at me.

Not every happening in human life is explainable. Some will never find the answer. Even scientists not 100 % right. But mindfulness and meditation can help in untying the knots. Help calming down our mind for not getting the answer we expect.
