- WATCH IT BEFORE IT GETS PULLED AGAIN! This is the song/video that sparked all sorts of controversy. Ironically focused on greed in the music industry as well as general selfishness and the sick state of the world, this also gives a vivid picture of anxiety and depression. Lyrically it was great (as usual) and the music it was stacked on was great. Got my head bobbing for sure.

Ren is anti-greed, the grossest aspect of greed that is. Anyone who argues Ren is against capitalism is probably just deluded at best. It is funny that Ren really only harps on the hypocrisy of greed in all its incarnations and how it affects or invades a person's mind. 'Dominoes' is a Ren song that is amazing in this respect and explains the horror of greed and the affect on self love.

I love that Ren deliberately creates his art in a way that people can interpret it in their own way. Even if I don't always agree with others perspectives, it's important to remember that everyone has their own life experiences that determine how they interpret Rens art. Ren sais once that this was all the things he wished he had said to all the doctors who insisted that he real pain and fatigue was due to osychological problems, instead of tbe other way around. His illness was making him depressed, anxious and eventually psychotic.
He thinks we should be questioning the underlying systems that allow the powerful and greedy to create and maintain themselves at the cost of the survival of those on the bottom. He is about using collective consciousness to find new solutions.

Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticize or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed.
I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head.
When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus.
These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between.
My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished.
My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world.
The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war.
For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person.
I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought.

Wow!! I have been following Ren for about a year and don't believe I have ever heard all of this. I have went through years of nearly every bit of this. They know I have an autoimmune disease. However, they still have yet to figure out which one. They once had me on self injections until I realized how toxic they were with no proven research that they would help me in any way. They need far more research on these things rather than using people as ginea pigs. I hope the treatment he has been getting has helped him with these symptoms. At the same time, as he said, "It is the eternal dance." Thank you so much for sharing this.❤

I'm so glad you got to react to this one! I think this version will only be on UA-cam for another few weeks - Ren plans to take it down and reupload it with the new soundtrack that he's working on. You can see the irony of this song being taken away because of greed. Great reaction, and I loved the pep talk at the end!

I completely agree. I sit on the political fence because no matter which way you lean, there are people within that system that are corrupt. No system is perfect, and all of them are open to being manipulated for selfish purposes. As you said, it's people, not the system.
This one, seven sins, and Hi Ren is probably my top 3 I like from him so far but as you said he probably draws alot of people who relate to him in the medical world and or thought of the world. I don’t normally air my business to the world on the internet but i personally can relate to the medical world problems and how it will mess with your head and feel like no one is listening since birth considering at the now age of 29 I’ve had 54 major surgeries and that’s just the major ones (about to have another one in about a month). Hopefully this drama he’s had to deal with over this song stops for him soon.

If you have difficulty getting up in the morning, try getting yourself an animal which is fully dependant on you getting up in the morning and feeding it. I find outside animals better. Your conscience will not allow you to let an animal go hungry, so you get up and do your duty to it. Their morning greetings, and joy at seeing you (and the food) will give you a sense of value and set you up for seeing positives during the rest of the day.
Absolutely true. Not to mention the unconditional love and trust from animals is life affirming. (From the servant to the cat who woke me at 4.30 am puking on the rug😂) she's now using me as a mattress.

The hard part that about telling those of us with chronic illnesses to just go do it, most of us are not going to be able to get better like he did, unfortunately. It's just a fact with our diseases. And I'm only saying that to maybe have that thought in your head before expressing something like that because not everybody can do that I still loved your reaction! Thank you

I basically have PTSD from being it. Years ago, I was sick and my doctors didn’t know was wrong with me for a few months. They finally sent me to an infectious disease specialist. He asked me what I did before I got sick. I told him I went horseback riding through fields and woods. He told me he was going to test me for tick borne diseases. I tested positive for Lyme’s disease and. Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Ever since then, if I am sick for more than a couple of days, I start panicking.
I understand. I too have lyme disease like ren, was misdiagnosed, gaslit by the medical field until recently - This song was the only song I heard him talk about being by a tick. I keep my hope and am taking lyme treatment

Yeah, this is why I’m not a people person 😂 I find alot of people are greedy, selfish and intolerable. There’s a few that balance it out, which is always a pleasant surprise to my days, but just getting out of bed knowing I have to deal with that on top of my anxiety, depression and other health issues, it’s very hard. Ren keeps me sane and reminds me to stay humble, true to myself and be a kind person over all of it. Teach others and be the bigger person. ❤

I have struggled with adhd depression and anxiety my entire life since I can remember what made me relate to this song the first time i heard it was how he brought to light how i have felt most my life about this medication oh not that than this or a lot of times getting medication to medicate the side effects of medication and its a guessing game. Not to mention im sure all the medications have ruined my brain more lol. I know i need the medication im on now bc i dont think the damage done is reversible. Its a total money grab and its a one size fits all kinda perspective by a lot of professionals. And of course i agree with the entire 2nd half. I like they tell 7s that its suicide and still we commit, all the research says we are killing the earth and eachother and we have the free will to use our technology and our resources to actually make the world better. ❤

Capitalism is the most just system. A truly free market is the most moral system. There is no perfect system, there is no utopia, but true freedom is morally superior to anything else.
Most people think of good, appropriate and righteous intensions, decisions and actions when they think of morality. So what kind of morality are you talking about?
I'm not anti-capitalist, I acknowledge what good capitalism has achieved, but I also undestand why it's more or less regulated everywhere.
