I have been ill with autoimmune, MCAS, and fibro for just under 20 years. This is my 6th year confined to my bed. Found Ren 2 years ago, and he has returned so much light to my life!! I used to merely exist, so my children didn't have to go to their mothers funeral. I actually have joyful days sometimes now! I even allowed my hubby to take me on a shark dive, which was absolutely magical!! I seriously paid for it with pain and exhaustion for days after, but it was SO WORTH IT!! Ren did that for me. Taught me to still try to see the beauty in the world. I love sharks almost as much as Ren! Lol. I feel like I'm seeing colors I haven't seen in years. I'm planning to attempt to start sculpting again. It'll cause pain, pain that feels like shattered, grinding broken glass in my spine. But sometimes the joy is truly worth it! And now my children will have memories of me being joyful, which is EVERYTHING!! (My autoimmune disease is ankylosing spondylitis, so it's concentrated mostly in my spine)
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing your pain with us. I just researched that and it doesn't sound anymore pleasant reading from the medical side of things. I am so sorry you have to deal with that everyday but so happy to hear you found Ren's music and he has given you a reason to appreciate life as he does all of us. We all have different pains we are dealing with but yours sounds incredibly excruciating on the pain scale. It would seem Ren encompasses all of us and he is the voice we all need when we feel invisible because too often we can become invisible for not being "normal" aka simply hurting

Ren has helped a good number of us this way. I am also chronically ill and I am older. Things were kinda bleak. And then I stumbled across Ren. I found him by accident through his musical sibling, Chinchilla. I've heard a lot of people say something similar to "You find Ren exactly when you need to" I feel like that's really accurate for me.

Hi there Ren never hit right . Like I enjoyed it but it was almost cheesy I had no context I thought it may just be all made up etc . Now having gone through 90 percent of his music and listened to some songs like 100 plus times this week alone . And watching his documentary it all makes sense now . Though going through songs on a randomized you tube play list and picking out bits of the story throughout them was an experience . Came across Ren during surgery recovery a few weeks ago (oh the irony of seeing a fellow Ren in the YT recommended list 😂) and holy shit what a discovery. Brother hits so many styles and flow that just matches what I've loved over my lifespan of absorbing music. As a 90's hip hop teen, his retake of Nas's "Halftime" is an all time tribute. "Losing it" is a gem for the EDM salute to Fisher. " Love Music, pt 3" is a sick meld of ska/reggae vibes. Just so versatile. I'm glad you are having this experience of hearing Ren for the first time. I really get a lot out of his music as it captures his anger and despair as well as humor and joy. I'd recommend a few songs I don't see *if* you can hang with his despair - the first and hardest is Seven Sins (Official Lyric Video) - the first section of the song is in Welsh (Ren is Welsh) and then quickly goes into the pain: salwch yw fy athrawen - sickness is my teacher fe dorrodd fy ngwên - my smile broke mae fy esgyrn teimlo'n hen - my bones feel old yma yw gorwedd corff ren - here lies the body of Ren The second more joyful song I'd try is his retake of Bittersweet Symphony. For a great example of how much he can switch things up, Losing It (Fisher Rap Version) is a really fun rap set to an EDM track and I love it. Animal Flow is also another great rap with a great video that I don't think you mentioned. Murderer has a wonderful, catchy chorus that gets stuck in your head.

Hi there Ren never hit right . Like I enjoyed it but it was almost cheesy I had no context I thought it may just be all made up etc . Now having gone through 90 percent of his music and listened to some songs like 100 plus times this week alone . And watching his documentary it all makes sense now . Though going through songs on a randomized you tube play list and picking out bits of the story throughout them was an experience . Sick boy I never quite got until I actually heard him talk about his specific experience inside the "center" can't think of the name

Came across Ren during surgery recovery a few weeks ago (oh the irony of seeing a fellow Ren in the YT recommended list 😂) and holy shit what a discovery. Brother hits so many styles and flow that just matches what I've loved over my lifespan of absorbing music.
As a 90's hip hop teen, his retake of Nas's "Halftime" is an all time tribute. "Losing it" is a gem for the EDM salute to Fisher. " Love Music, pt 3" is a sick meld of ska/reggae vibes. Just so versatile.

I'm glad you are having this experience of hearing Ren for the first time. I really get a lot out of his music as it captures his anger and despair as well as humor and joy.
I'd recommend a few songs I don't see *if* you can hang with his despair - the first and hardest is Seven Sins (Official Lyric Video) - the first section of the song is in Welsh (Ren is Welsh) and then quickly goes into the pain:

For a great example of how much he can switch things up, Losing It (Fisher Rap Version) is a really fun rap set to an EDM track and I love it. Animal Flow is also another great rap with a great video that I don't think you mentioned. Murderer has a wonderful, catchy chorus that gets stuck in your head.

I think you should listen to Back on 74/Message in a Bottle Retake after Money Game Pt. 3 - it was his first release after he finished money game and it feels so much like he just walked into a bar after working on that video, found a guitar picked it up and had a chill jam session to decompress. It is such a good time and shows his soul music skills.

Yoooo i just found you through your hi ren reaction, and then you release this like 20 mins later. So hype! I'll just say while you are working through all of his stuff, make sure you don't skip his earlier stuff. A lot of reactors dont do videos on his earlier stuff, and honestly its some of my favorites of his. Some that i highly recommend are penitence, ready for you, everybody drops, dominoes and diazepam.
