    * u can charge your phone for all night but with phone's original charger
    * Don't let your phone battery drain plug in before 20prcnt and remove from charger before 80prcnt i.e never full charge it
    * You can charge your phone frequently its completely normal
    * Make sure you don't keep your phone under pillows i.e Don't let your phone heat it reduces the battery Life

      use recommend charger..... cheap chargers can damage ur phone as sometimes when these local cheap chargers develope fault they start giving mains voltage in output. This will kill ur phone.
      If u use other phone manufacturers charger ensure that its wattage matches what ur phone manufacturer has specified as high wattage chargers can cause heating. This will effect battery life.

    @himankan 4 роки тому +8

    Every battery has it’s own limit of charging cycles. Therefore we shouldn’t charge the battery repeatedly and we should let it drain to around 20% before charging again. Charging it to max will not affect it’s life.
    After a certain number of cycles, certain things called ‘dendrites’ start building up in Li-ion batteries which decrease the battery capacity overtime. Therefore we should try to kep it to minimum.
    Also we should avoid gaming while charging as it puts a lot of stress on the battery and accelerates this process.
    All these problems will not be seen in upcoming solid state batteries or SSBs.

    • @MikhaelAhava
      @MikhaelAhava 4 роки тому

      That’s conflicting, from what I’ve heard from tech stuff, at least in laptops, game while charging as not doing so stresses the battery, and also to increases performance since battery power is limited.

      @himankan 4 роки тому

      @@MikhaelAhava Here I'm talking about phones. Laptops are completely different. Gaming laptops have effective cooling system and battery is usually far away from the gpu.

    The ICs on battery make sure they are not overly charged or discharged. That is if your phone shows 100 or 0%, then it is battery's approx. 85 or 10-15%.
    if you keep your mobile charged overnight, though charging stops practically at 100%, there are minor leaking currents which charge it slowly(even with branded charger). To say its effect, if you charge it overnight everyday, battery lifespan will be reduced by half approx.

    I've the ROG Phone 3 which is probably the world's most powerful phone at the moment. It has a 6000 mAh battery with a 30 Watt hyperfast charger. One of the things I really like about my Phone is that it has an inbuilt feature called Schedule Charging with Slow Charging. What it does is it charges the Phone slowly at 10 Watt while you set the schedule whenever you want, so it doesn't fullycharge the battery immediately But it charges the Phone according to the schedule. But the requirement of the schedule charging is that I need to set it for minimum 4 hours. Thus, I don't need to worry about the overnight charging.

    I smelled something electrical burning and it was actually the charger. It was one of the better products but there are exceptions to all of them irregardless of the make. Even expensive cables have failed while I was using them. I'm lucky these events have happened in my presence.

    Myself working in battery ic department, its not good for the battery to leave over night because when the battery hits 100, the ic blocks the current but it only take few minutes (usually 1 to 2 min) to go back to 99 and ic opens the gate(current) so this cycle continues over night (charging-discharging) which reduces the life of battery slowly and also reducing the life of power ic.

    Lol who the hell will take so many precautions and limit the charging level between 20 & 80(stupidity)
    I'm using a flagship smartphone of 3300mah battery and used it for more than 2.5 years. And it still working fine.
    Charging percentage should be between 10-90 % and never charge overnight. That's it!!!

    Mostly good advise, except the charging randomly for few minutes part. All battery types have limited charging cycles, say 10000 charge cycles. So, charging them to retain most of the charge makes the optimum use of the battery. Also, one doesn't have to drain the battery to 0% every time, but can do so to recalibrate the battery from time to time, as they tend to malfunction over time. E.g. at times you might notice the battery % drop abruptly & sharply. In such cases, drain the battery n charge it fully. It recalibrates the battery.

    My laptop battery is also made of lithium ion. I used to keep it plugged in even after getting fully charged. I damaged 2 original batteries while doing that. So it's always better to unplug when it's charged. Don't let your battery die completely. There's a concept called discharge point for batteries. Once the battery level reaches that point it severely damages the semiconductors inside.
