Thank you for bringing some attention to a highly underrated sport. Having taken a few private lesson myself I can attest it is an extremely complex and difficult sport that requires a vast array of skills. It also requires physical strength. In the larger team events some of the team members lift and throw each other these days - mind boggling. I have tried many sports and this was one of the hardest.

I always wanted to do this sport, but it was shunned upon for a man to do artistic swimming, sad but true. Thanks Bill for opening the door for other to follow. You are a pioneer in this very difficult sport, i mean not easy what so ever!!!

My daughter has done competitive artistic swimming for 9 years now. It is a totally underrated sport in my opinion. It looks easy and it is a very difficult sport to perform. Loved the segment on it.

Thank you for doing this story! Artistic swimming is not easy and it's courageous for Lara and James to do this for us! @7:59 in true Olympic fashion of never giving up and doing your best to finish for your country!!! :) Definitely an A for effort!

Is there ANYTHING left for girls and women to be respected and honored?
This broke my heart for the leaven that has and now is in every sport leavened the whole lump.
I thank God that at least at this point in time, especially at the Paris Olympics our daughters, granddaughters, nieces, cousins, friends, etc., can have their opportunity to experience the joy and glory in the sport of "Artistic Swimming" without it being WOKED to the max.

Russia is banned, and they were adding the third routing called acrobatic alongside technical and free routines. Team USA targeted high difficulties in their pursuit of a medal, thus it became a little too hard even for a legend like Bill May, at his current age. Team USA ultimately did it, scoring the second highest in both acrobatic and free routines and earned silver.

Men should have been allowed to do this style of swimming a long time ago. Just like male gymnastics.
