In this episode I get on with laying some paint down on the prepared bodywork using graffiti rattlecans!

That’s the best paint... people say you need automotive specific paint but I can assure you that is so much better, it’s made to last years outside and the finish of that paint is amazing, in fact any graffiti artist paint is perfect for that

As a pro graffiti writer, I can say that this is the best paint around in this segment. I did a lot of cars in the past with spraycans. None of them were mono colours though, all drawings. I even did a 67 bug at Beetle Bash in the nineties, live in open air in the middle of the runway. At that time Montana didn't even existed and the best brand was Sparvar. I have a 2008 silver panel of my own and I sprayed it in Montana 7070 Stealth (windows down) to match the bumpers. Looks great and a lot more modern as if it's a two tone T6.

Looks great nice job , I did a Mini about 30 years ago with rattle cans and was surprised at how well it came out. This is a much bigger project though but looks really good.

Thank You for watching! Yeah the wind was a bit of a pain but i still wanted to try and show what you can do in ‘real world’ conditions. On your drive or in an open barn and not in a perfectly still sterile spray booth. I think it has turned out ok. No clear coat. This is the finish.

Great video, love the colour (my personal choice would be gloss/shine) so I would put a gloss clear lacquer over the top, be a great finish.
I have done a few spray jobs with cans, we keep the cans of paint in a hot water bath (Not to hot) camping stove and large saucepan, filled with water, thins the paint, increases the pressure in the can you can have 4 or 5 cans ready to go, does a good job well very reasonable. 😉

Thank you for watching! I wanted the matt finish on this van, like the look as it's a little different! Great tip! i kept the can next to an oil radiator all of the previous night and whilst I was spraying to help with the pressure in the cans. It looks much better than when I started!
Love this. I'm currently doing rust treatment on my van and in the future will need to repaint. Been looking at various options that I could do myself and this is definitely an option 👍

Well done Dan!! It's NOT easy, but with time and effort you made cheap rattle paint look great. However, lots of people make expensive 2K paint with a compressor look shite. New subscriber after watching this video.

Love the colour,back in the day I had an ex bt transit that was a very similar grey.great job so far,love the fact that you removed trim to paint and not masked around .
Thank You for watching! I can’t stand when people don’t remove things properly. It is probably more a pain and a faff to mask them all out which will never be done 100% accurately!
The primer looks great, will be even better with the topcoat. 😉 joking the grey looks great and better than I have seen from some so called professional bodyshops...

@@DanChambersDAC I while back I painted whole front and rear bumpers on a metallic black bmw 3 series, was a company car going back at end of lease, all with spray cans came out perfect, the guy who picked up even said the car was mint as they usually have scrapes and knocks when they go back 👍

The nozzle you referred to as a fat cap is actually an italic, fat caps give a fast/wide area of coverage, but in a regular circular shape.

Took your tip so I ordered a couple of tins to compare as Im not sure how it looks (in real life). NOWHERE can match the price OR the colour I want . RUSTOLEUM cant match the colour either and I dont dig the 'orange peel' effect - so its THIS!

Ordered the colours I have chosen on a bit f the van from Graff city and its MEGA! Thanks for the tips! Sprayed a small bit of the van and it looks great.

Can gun is a cracking tool from pound shops. Mad4motors channel would do the same , its all in the prep . Good result and it is fun .

Really like this video. My T5 is in need of some paint throwing at it as currently have a front end swap which is a different white to the rest of the van. Was thinking of Rustoleum and rollering (many videos on youtube but looks a mare) but now I've seen this.. it looks a much better job, and so much quicker and easier.
This video has definitely given me a bit of a kick to get it done now. Thanks!!

Warm cans don't make the paint thinner, it's makes it dry quicker as the solvent is warmer..

Do you know how this paint looks over time and how it lasts? Weighing up between this and roller Ing rustoleum.

Thank you for watching and for the comment! The paint last's pretty well if looked after. Most people apply a coating of wax, sometimes anchor wax (Yes wax for boat anchors!) to protect the paint.

The ven looks good, I like the color but the paint isn't as hard wearing as you think. I did my old MX5 with the same paint. It looked great but after a few months I did have to do a lot of touching up.
Thank You for watching! I have a few friends that have van’s painted in it and they have said it holds up pretty well 🤷🏼♂️ the beauty of this paintjob is that it can be touched in easily and cheaply if needed though.
@@DanChambersDAC the one thing I was going to do was to put a Matt clear coat over it, just to keep it from fadeing and to make it more hard wearing. I bought the clear from Graffcity too
Stunning job, love the colour. Would be nice to see it lacquered to get a shine out of the paint. Did you do any rubbing down between coats? New camera gave a better picture quality as well 👍
