nice kit! Just the fact that the clear sprue comes with the hole already drilled out makes this a better offering than the clearprop one as the rest of the detail seems to be on par at the very least
It looks like the two build options are for the Early (Full Canopy) 1932-35 period and the later (open Windscreen), modified (1934-39) models of the Type 5. Some Early types even survived into 1942. The next Model the Type 10 had uprated arms and engine and entered VVS service in (I think) 1937. To keep VVS numbers high, the older model 5s were retained or modified. The difference in the upperwing was in the amount of Fabric used, as opposed to wood. (Early to Late.) Early types were not modified as that generally involved replacing the entire wing, making it a new aircraft, but reducing the number of wings available to the Later 5 and 10 types.
