- The original "Good Morning Australia".
This edition aired on Monday the 1st of February 1982.
The Breakfast Television program was broadcast by Network Ten weekdays from 7:00-9:00am.
It debuted on 2 March, 1981 with Gordon Elliott and Sue Kellaway co-hosting. Kellaway departed shortly after the program began and was replaced by Kerri-Anne Kennerly, who stayed with the program until the end of 1991 when she was replaced by Sandra Sully, Joy Smithers and then Sandra Sully again.
The male co-host position on GMA was filled by Tim Webster, Mike Gibson, Terry Willesee, Tim Webster again, Mike Hammond and Ron Wilson.
In 1992, GMA moved to the 6:30-8:30am timeslot, coinciding with the launch of The Morning Show with Bert Newton.
The breakfast program competed with the Nine Network's Today (which launched in 1982 with Sue Kellaway, initial co-host of the Ten show) and usually placed second in the ratings, behind Today.
GMA, as a breakfast news program, was cancelled at the end of 1992. (Source- Wikipedia)

Great Video. Was Network 10 the first Television Channel to broadcast at Breakfast Time in Australia? If not who was and when?
Ten was the first to broadcast a breakfast program nationally in 1981 followed by Today in 1982.
Phil Sayamoungkhoun Thank You Phil Sayamoungihoun. We remeber Kerri Ann here in the uk because she sent a video to help launch BBC Breakfast Time, Britians first Breakfast Television Service on 17th January 1982. BBC Breakfast Time is still going strong after 30 years, Is GOOD MORNING AUSTRALIA and Kerri Ann still OK? PS As well as The Big Bash Has Network 10 won the television rights to Australian Cricket? Replacing Channel 9 after 35 years? Also are The Australian Brealfast TV Shows GOOD MORNING AUSTRALIA,TODAY and SUNRISE Networked across AUSTRALIA or tape delayed due to the three [or more] TIME ZONES THAT YOU have in Australia? GOD BLESS Correction 17th January 1983. garry.robinsimpson@gmail.com
