I've heard the oilpans are prone to rusting through. Would be less work ;-) You make it look so easy. It took me days to replace my waterpump. finding out that I had to remove the dipstick... I'm more experienced now haha
I have the same problem!!! Thanks for this guide, will be sorting it tomorrow hopefully :) DAMMIT I don't have one of those O-Rings, just the seals :( Looks like it will be NEXT weekend lol
Hey Matt, my old oil pump has a crank sensor port and my replacement one does not… is it okay to use and discard crank sensor and change from the ignition coil packs and install a distributor? I have a 1998 model I believe the 1997 and under did not have crank sensors but they also had distributors.. my 1998 has a crank sensor but ignition coils instead
Hallo dude, nice video. I saw it in slow motion (since i'm not that good with english, and with sound off, since my lady is asleep😂😂. Anyway, i have a 90' Corolla, 2e carb engine. My technician told me that my oil pump is leaking and needs replacement, but there is no indication in the dial. I think i am in the situation you describe, right?
hi , i have a leak on the oil pump seal 4efe corolla , do you have the oem or replacement code for the seal ? thank you I changed the o-ring years ago but not the seal and now there is oil everywhere specially on high revs .
@@pingapete666 The seal is one . on the front side taking off the the oil pump pulley on my car it was still the original one and lasted 25 years.. i replaced it yesterday and no more leaks . The o-ring on the back side of the oil pump was replaced about 5 year ago .
Had the same issue with my ep82 and had to replace the oil seal. Got a question thou which modern car can I use parts from cause parts are hard to get where I'm from
Ive had this kind of leak happen when switching from 5w40 to 10w60 the engine had a 10k km old Aisin oil pump and i had replaced that ring, it wasnt as bad as yours though
I've got a Toyota Caldina with the 5e-fe engine (which I belive is what you have here). Mine is leaking from the same place it seems. Where did you find replacement O rings? Also, do you know where I can find those spark plug boots? This car was not made for the US market so I'm having trouble. Thanks!
Thankyou bro I’ve been following your build and trying to use all your theory’s in the process will send you a photo and a price list I think you’ll be impressed and may have done tips for me. I don’t really show anyone my builds but definitely willing to show you I know you’ll appreciate it . Thanks Matt your the starlet starguide hahaa
hey matt, just scored myself a second 96 paseo for $350, its spun a big end bearing, so my thinking is put my current 5efe in it, and swap out my regoed ones motor for something a bit bigger, any thoughts? (kinda wanna stay 5efe, but not married to it)
Man they are getting so hard to find now!!! good score!! Is it Automatic?? They certainly have a little more torque, but these days its almost cheaper buying a set of cams for the 4efe that will end up making more power than a stock 5efe, rather than paying $1000+ for a paseo just to get the engine...

I USED O-RING 68X2.5, U CAN USE 65 AND STRETCH IT A BIT IN YOUR HANDS TOO. THAT FILLS VOID NICELY.
Thankyou very much I hope you're right because that saves me having to wait for an O-ring from Japan, I'll let you know how I go
