  • In this video we take a look at some of the first things you can do to get your printing experience started.
We'll look at the 3D Benchy, look at what it can tell you, and what to look for.
The Benchy has been around for quite a while and can be found on Printables and Thingiverse:
    www.thingivers... (original credits: CreativeTools)
    www.printables... (Prusa's version on Printables)
Temperature, flow, and retraction can help you fix a lot of issues with prints. Just these three simple settings, and getting them right is extremely helpful when you're having trouble with first layer adhesion, gaps, blobs, bridges, and stringing.
However, this is just a good starting point. From here you will need to continue to experiment with making sure that your filament is dry and laying down consistently before looking at speeed, because who wants to waste extra time unnecessarily?
I didn't have time to add it to this video but in addition to this, you want to also optimize speed by looking at the volumetric flowrate, and that will be the focus of the next video.
