Warhammer Armies BLOW MY MIND!! 🤯

- I can’t help but take a peek in the shop of Element Games when I pop in on game knights, the Combat Patrols in Warhammer are packed full of goodies and I just want one of each if I’m honest!

Thousand Sons combat patrol? Theres no thousand sons combat patro- OH YOU MEAN THE TZAANGORS COMBAT PATROL
Haha, I ended up picking it up as I wanted Tzaangors for Kill Team but the Combat Patrol does lean into them a lot doesn’t it…
Where are the rubric marines fr
I like the idea of tsons summoning beasts and creatures from the warp to help them fight, there arent that many actual tsons left lore wise so it makes sense to me. Plus tzangoors are fun to paint lol.
Tzaangors Are birds so I am here for the only tzaangor box route gw is taking
@@jared30 I disagree wholeheartedly with everything you said
I really want to dip my toes into custodes but I need to actually commit to one of the other armies I‘ve had for forever.
I can relate to this so much, I need to calm down with 8 Combat Patrols already but I love each of the armies.
The advantage of Custodes is 10 models probably gets you to 1k, haha.
@@TinBearStudios that’s kind of my logic for why I want to buy imperial knights as well, I just can’t pull the trigger on it because I don’t know if I’ll enjoy them.
Yeah that's very fair.
@@Yacob44 dude if you play any imperium faction you can slot in a knight (grab a questoris with the crusader loadout)
Also painting and assembly of the knight was really fun.
Same. I got my Necron army thats sitting on my shelf a few years also that needs to be finished
The thousand sons boarding patrol is probably a better combat patrol, mostly due to the fact is has more than 6 thousand sons
I bought my first box of custodes at the start of the pandemic. I now have 10K points of them and severe credit card debt
I'm liking both out of respect of your 10k and your credit cards
At least with custodes you have a limit of models if you wanna stay lore accurate haha
@@TheOddOrigin yeah but I really wanted to play apocalypse
"even in debt i still serve"
Total of 23 models for that point amount lol
Now if only these sets weren't so expensive
*cries in AdMech*
just 3d print, it's way cheaper long-term and a 3d printer is a nice multi-use tool you can use for other things too not just for models
@@vendetta.02 That's actually what I'm having my brother do for me now I have a kill team for sisters Done now That look like they are cyber valkyries And I'm having him print out 1000 points worth of Grey Knights So I can join him and his friends when they have nights when they play
I gonna say gw has really stepped up there game on the box art and design, even when I first got into 40k during 3rd the ork battleforce set is what roped me in.
I’ve basically collected a combat patrol worth of ultra marines but now I wanna get a real combat patrol to complement it
Everytime I think of dipping into warhammer. I think of buying the product and then the time to assemble it and then the time and money to paint and base it nicely. And after all those weeks of days and hours assembling the army memorizing as many rules as possible and then finding time to play a 2 hour+ straight game. Then I realize with my current life in a dual income home with children I don't have anywhere close to the time to dedicate to a hobby.
Yeah I completely get where you’re coming from here.
It’s definitely challenging but I do find is incredibly rewarding, the painting part has taken me a while to get into enjoying but I finally am enjoying it.
The playing is my favourite part of the hobby, it’s a lot of fun even if you don’t get to do it often.
you could always find a cheap army like i have done as a brand new player i chose necrons as my starter army for now i am just going to collect them for a bit until i have a decent army
There are smaller skirmish games, but also take as slow as you need. Just start with a small box of minis you like the look of and some paint and see how you get on.
The best value in Combat Patrol boxes is the Drukhari hands down. 3 of those and your well on your way to a complete army.
40k has many flaws but one good thing is how cool the minis looks
Yeah I agree, they do look fantastic!
Until i paint them.
Easy tip for new players. Combat patrol boxes are roughly 130 euro each but if you get the starter set and top them of with the 2 missing units you pay about 155 for 2 combat patrols (sure its just tyranids and space marines but its still a budget option to try.)
Yep. I know right? It's so much crazy cool stuff I can't decide.
Kind of makes you want one of everything!
Is that why I started 5 armies in 2021? I've been good in 2022 and only bought outside my works in progress when I could super paint job them up for a run in DnD and my trophy shelf. Chaos Cult Leader with the fire and book.
That’s some real restraint from you! Nice work…
5 armies in 2022 sounds familiar 😂
I thought it was ok and a better than the last few. The start felt pretty tense but you loose a lot of tension throughout as the sith went from killing Jedi left and right than stops and does it far more slowly
I'd like to get myself the Death Guard Combat Patrol set
Just bought a votann army box, hoping to start playing so having a full army is gonna be useful
Yeh I picked it up this weekend too, can't wait to build it!
Votann? Don't you want to have any friends left? Lol.
Seriously beautiful sculpts though.
@@UKscalemodeller didn't buy them for the rules, I just like dwarves.
Also, bold assumption that I have friends 😝
@@thecrabmaestro564 I know what you mean, dwarves are epic. I still have my 1990s WFB dwarf army.
You can just play Combat Patrols in the mean time brother.
GW Models ARE expensive, but they make the best miniatures on the entire planet.
I can't emphasize enough how envious I am to see a shelf full of Warhammer products. Man, I wish there was a store like this where I live!
Small town too hey lol?
They gotta make a new Ultramarine combat patrol with the new Dreadnought model
Only 8? Oh I wish that is all I bought 😂
Haha, in time 🙂
@@TinBearStudios imagine yourself in 2016 and your getting into tau. The start collecting box ($80) was the most cost efficient way of owning 10 firewarriors ($60) 1 ethereal ($35) and 3 crisis suits ($65). I kinda like the start collecting boxes vs the combat patrol boxes. There was just more value in the old boxes vs new ones.
That does sound pretty sweet to be fair! I like the Combat Patrols personally but it's all I've really known as well
@@TinBearStudios they're just as fantastic but value per box youd buy they can be meh. Still recommend them tho!
Yeah I've got quite a few now, for better or worse, and I still enjoy them 😊
The thousands combat patrol that contains like 1/3 of the army 💀
I WANT A PROPER THOUSAND SONS COMBAT PATROL
The new orks won't give you their vibe anymore
The ridiculous prices blow my mind
Remember when start collecting boxes were about 50 quid instead of 70-80? Good times eh?
Wet good times!
Thing is at 50-55 quid I'd buy 2 boxes, at 75 quid, I won't even buy one.
Yeah, it’s a lot of money to be spending on a small handful of models
I need more orcs for my collection
I really want to pick up Orks, but should probably paint the other 12 armies I have first! Grrrr
I love my Orks but holy hell are they a pain to paint!
Just picked up my own stodes combat patrol today
I wish I had a store near me been looking for a necron combat patrol for awhile
We need a Drukhari Coven Body Horror Starter Box 🤩
I’d love that so much!!
Gotta love element games
It's such a nice place to go and play games and then accidentally spend far too much!
I just wish GW had this consistent price point ACROSS THE BOARD.
If you price out each model on those boxes, they’re sold for a LOT less than if you buy them separately.
I shouldn’t have to buy a big box set to get a tank at a more reasonable price.
Yeah I get you on price
Necrons ❤
Necrons are the best ones!
I bought 10 legionaries for 80 and then saw the combat patrol the day they arrived and was so sad. The combat patrol are so cool, I'm getting the chaos daemons one.
I can’t wait for the point in my life where I can basically just buy these whenever I want. I’m interested in going into the medical field and I’m a pretty low maintenance person so I don’t really need a big house or fancy car. My strategy from the start is to have as little debt as possible and only to live off of 1/4 of my income with the rest going into savings. People far too often live to the very brim of their paychecks and I think that’s stupid. But anyways, I’m excited to be able to set aside my own money to pick up more of these sets.
Then you open the box and realize you need to clip, assemble, prime, paint, base, and varnish each one 😔
Love painting my models, but god emperor I hate building them lol
Painting the models is just as fun as playing the game.
What else would you do?
Honestly, I like it. When you see someone’s beautifully hand painted army it’s almost like you don’t even need to know them you can just speak 40K everyone is totally invested into the hobby that it’s just a hell of a lot of fun and makes me forget my normal life stuff for awhile, take it slow it’s not a race
Whatever you do, do *NOT* buy that particular Necron combat patrol if you're intending on playing the game.
I'm about to get into Warhammer and I'm torn between Thousand Sons and Death Guard. Genestealer is my third choice, the dirt bike and four wheelers alongside brutal looking mutants.. every faction is so METAL.
F*ckin Love warhammer bruh
Yea all the prices have gone 3 times over what are worth
I just got my first combat patrol. Grey knights! Can’t wait to paint them. I’m sorta nervous to mess them up haha.
YA GIT NO ORKZ!?
Username checks out!
I just wish they were more war band boxes, or at the very least they weren’t always out of stock
Damn it is nice having a warhammer shop not 8 hours away from where you live
Nice but dangerous, so easy to spend money!
@@TinBearStudios i live 8 hours away from my nearest warhammer shop but atleast i have a outland around 2 hours from where I live.
Love living in the norwegian country
Norway’s beautiful 🙂 pleased we have Warhammer people supporting the cause out there!
After recent thing my brain deleted word custodies from my memory.
8 Combat Patrols...you better slay that grey 😂
oooh i need to go to the store soon again!!
I love being in there, 3 times this week!!
@@TinBearStudios i started on a guardsman then switched to spacemaries midway then my birthday rolls around and my wife gives me a baneblade and a primaris redemptor dreadnough and a box of airbrush paints so i guess im building 2 army in one go 😅
Haha, I love your commitment to building 2 in one go!
I hope you painted those combat patrols
Ummmmmmm 👀
I don’t know why that blows your mind, it’s literally the point of presenting the factions on the front of the boxes. It’s literally in the design of the models.
Well it's my first time ever getting into wargaming after wanting to get into it for at least 2 decades so perhaps just a honeymoon period as I get into the hobby properly, but I love how flavourful all the armies are visually and love looking at the box art on the Combat Patrols especially.
@@TinBearStudios ah my bad, don’t let me ruin your passion for the new hobby then. Ignore me. I enjoy looking at all the different displays they have in the codexes and on the boxes too. It’s my main inspiration for painting my own
No no, all good - just wanted to give context on why I love looking at them!
I really enjoy looking at them in the codexes too, in the Votann for example I can't stop looking at how some of them are painted, it's definitely pushed me to choose Ymyr as my choice of league as I love the red and haven't painted anything that bright yet.
Chaos demons for me 😁
These are pretty awesome. I still have to finish up the Nid army I'm building, and then do the LoV, and I'm already looking at other factions. It's an addicition
Custodes : "are they still out there?" " Yes brother" "let's turn of the light maybe they'll go away"
Tyranids : " girl scout cookies you want any? "
Custodes : " yes we'll take them all!!!"
🤣
Is painting the models a really difficult task? I used to be quite artsy but lost my right so I’m nervous about investing money into an army and completely fxxking up.
Lol my dad accidentally bought the craftworld combat patrol a decade ago in a eBay haul gonna paint it up for him. We’ll have to sub his metal Eldrad in for the farseer. The wraith and weapons plant forms are also metal. The wraiths don’t particularly hold up.
Custodes all the way, everyone must simp for the golden banana boys !!!
I've been reading the Siege of Terra books and am more ready than ever to simp for them!!
@@TinBearStudios Subscribed !
That's really nice of you, thank you!
And I thought I was crazy owning 4 lol more incentive to buy more 🤣
Buy buy buy!
Double your patrols, and look for deals
Yeah that's a good shout! The Drukhari Combat Patrol was so goo though I ended up getting 2!
Ok so I'm new to getting in to Warhammer, I've known of the game and know some of the factions like the tou, orkz, and of course humanity and the space marines as well as a few chapters of the space marines. I know nothing about the game and how to play except the figures can get expensive fast so I have 2 open questions.
1: what is the best way to get into playing, do I need a big army to actually play? If so what is the cheapest way to do it?
2: do the army's play differently, like to the human tactics change if you try to play orkz? If so what is the easiest army to use to at least learn how to play the game?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Get into the lore first I'd say, the real enjoyment comes from building and painting them in my opinion. Playing them on tabletop is just a bonus.
If you just want to do tabletop maybe stick with DnD ?
If you do want to build an army, it varies from faction more or less.
Custodes in 9th edition are probably the best and relatively cheap compared to the rest.
8 custodes is like 1k points.
So you wouldn't need much to get tabletop started.
Although if you get sucked into it like I did you'll probably spend a pretty penny on quality tools and paints....
Point is, go custodes all the way, never stop simping for the golden banana boys !!
Don't be a heretic.
Firstly, welcome to the hobby! Regardless of what capacity you’re joining there’s a place for you here 🙂
I released a video on starting for under $100 which is the approach I’d take if I was starting again, check that out when you get a moment - I tried to keep it to the point.
All armies do play very differently yeah, that’s one of the really fun things about the game side! I’d recommend starting with Space Marines, specifically Ultramarines, as they do most phases of the game well and are fantastic to learn with.
The lore is fantastic and it surprised me how much I love it!
I have to (respectfully!) disagree that the real enjoyment comes from building and painting, I’m really struggling to get into those aspects of the hobby but am playing 2 to 3 times a week (3+ hours per game!) and love it so much.
I think it’s important for people to try each aspect and see what works for them, I wish I could enjoy the painting side as much as others seem to for example - I’ll tolerate it to get it done, but definitely not my favourite.
Oh and thanks for commenting and offering advice regardless, this community is awesome 🙂
@@TinBearStudios thanks 🙂, I'll check out that video when I can. I heard the community can be a bit rough but so far my experience has been good, some bad times but mostly good so I'm excited to get into it
Legit highlights the two armies I want next first, but no… I don’t need a 4th or 5th army…
Ugh I know...the temptation is so real!!
@@TinBearStudios always.
Update… I now have 3,500 points of custodes…
Which is your curious. Is only about 35 dudes…
How does it blow your mind that looking at a product tells you what the product line is like
It's more the theme of how the army would play, but fair enough. Thanks for watching anyway.
Here's you 8 deep... meanwhile I'm staring at my pox walkers like.. why you gotta be like that? Haha
I'm not proud of the 8 deep, it's called a pile of shame for a reason haha
@@TinBearStudios haha its a pile of potential awesomeness no shame here only glory on the battle field!! =P
I like your outlook a lot! Haha
How many impusor do I need again?
Nice boxes they have. Too bad I 3D print mine🤫
Top bad the blood angels combat patrol has almost nothing to do with their combat style
The only problem is the godam price
I saved up my $$$$ and already spent $300 on Veteran Guardsmen Death Korps and 3 Valkyrie. Why is there always a hole* " those aren't compatible to fight me (UltraMarines).
Me: I do not care I just like the appearance and the craft of painting them your way. 😂😂😂😂 Always that one guy b itching to you.
Buy everything…buy everything multiple times…
Haha, I like your style…
Once you play for a bit it kinda becomes more of a lifestyle than a hobby 😅
Just gor the genestealers box and I'm having fun building the models. I hope I didn't make a mistake since this is my first gw army
Congrats! You can’t really make a mistake, metas come and go but what keeps you playing is finding an army you really enjoy - you’re looking at them so much you kind of have to.
It ain't a mistake if you're enjoying it (you can always proxy them as other options if you really don't like it though)
Where iz da green gitz
Oh they’re there…!
I use play and paint warhammer left after a long time whent to start again I just whant to paint and the cost is so much madness
"local "
Thousand sons/all chaos legions need a box of legion themes like those pharoh pires on their helmets. So tired of buying legion-specific kits.
And cutting out only their heads*
Pretty please don’t tell me you bought the 40K version of the Tzeentch daemon box
"Vibe of the Faction"
*Holding up the Space Wolves combat patrol*
.... yeah no
You actually have a really good point for Space Wolves, can’t argue that one!!
Yeah, it doesn’t have bad models they just don’t really fit the vibe, I’m a space wolves player
Actually that’s a tzangor combat patrol
Very true!
Alright, screw it, I'm going to start getting into the tabletop. Thank you for convincing me to make poor financial decisions!
That's alright, I convince myself to make poor financial decisions all the time! Welcome aboard 🤣
checking in on ya, how's it going?
@@g4fly4ever8 Pretty well, I started building an Astra Militarum Army, and I convinced one of my friends to make an Ork one. We've both enjoyed building and painting our models, and we look forward to playing the tabletop soon!
What's uhh this song called again, I forgot.
And this is who they want to sell the rules now. Not a fan of the new rules other than the 3 point totals for games.
I'm looking forward to 10th 😊
18 or so models for $127 is ridiculous. I love the minis but thats too much. heck 10 primaris intercessors was $55…..going to be looking into a 3d resin printer for sure.
Seems a lot of people have a similar approach in mind! 😊
@@TinBearStudios don’t get me wrong i still support them, the prices could go down
Yeah I get that, or like my friend does - supports them on occasion, but 3D prints most of his armies.
3D Printing is really expensive to start out. You have to know where to find the high quality models you want, you have to get a pretty high end printer if you want your models to look like the official ones (and not all muddy)...
But if you can manage all that then it's definitely a money saver in the long run.
But why does the guard has no box
It should come with the new Codex release, whenever that arrives.
@@TinBearStudios ok
Bit still it is das that the guys who carry the Empire get no Love
Too bad the Thousand Sons combat patrol is kinda bad.
Just say no and try a system that doesn't price gouge you! 105$US for 5 minis😮🤮
The thousand sons box set has tzangors in it so i decided to get my modles seperatly i have ahriman, the infernal master, exalted sorcerers, 10 rubric marines , and 5 scarab occolt terminators , painted, waiting on magnus to arrive and then its on to more rubrics and scarrab occolt terminators, i dont like the look of tzangors
Yeah this is a nice approach, I quite like Tzangors but they're not the best in that Combat Patrol.
I'm very tempted by the Christmas box for Thousand Sons, looks so good.
Tzaangors get too much hate, I can understand why from a gameplay perspective they're awful, they have 1 wound each and a 6+ save, meaning they are designed purely to be slaughtered by your enemy, but from a visual standpoint I think they look great! Probably my favorite of the Chaos Daemon foot soldiers. (At least compared to the Blood letters, Poxwalkers and Daemonettes.)
Wait u own them are they build and painted? 🧐
No no, this was me walking around the shop 😊
Wanted to give a like but at the end, no. Not a single Death Guard box was shown. How ignorant not even telling people about the gift of Nurgle.
You know what, I should unsub from myself for that oversight.
@@TinBearStudios Haha!
Its lucky that Nurgle is forgiving to everyone, because he love his childs.
The only price is to make a short about the most disgusting army.
Also I lied, because I liked and subscribed to your chanel.

The boxes? I go to Element Games in Stockport 🙂
Do you work there or something?
There is no product placement here
How should i go about trying to play my first game i go to this one store for paint and ive bought like a kit there and an ahrmin mini lose how do i aproach this...

Not sure what you mean!
Don't buy the thousand sons box not worth it.
The fact you can see the models by looking at the blows your mind..?
Ok
This is just an ad
And yer wallet
Oh yeah, that too...!
It's an addictive wallet buster.
.it's pretty cool
Sure is, haha
Don't do it, they're no longer a deal. Be smart and 3d print.
I'm about 6 months too late down that path! 🤣
But I do really love the idea of 3D printing stuff, looks awesome fun.
Oof that didn't age well. How's $40 for a litre of resin treating you?
